And here's the deal: the car I bought I haven't put more than 1000 miles on since I bought it in August of 2009 (two weeks of use since then). I don't really need a car in the States but when I'm in the country the "new" car I got with the CFC money can hold my family whereas the F150 couldn't. Ordinarily I would just rent a car when in town.

I would have never traded in my 88 F-150. 300 l6 is so easy to work on that a caveman could do it. And it is built much better than anything new out there I don't care what you like. The new vehicle only has about 250 miles on it now, 10 months later, because I haven't been back in the States since about 5 days after I did this. This transaction had basically zero effect on the CO2 in the atmosphere.

From that experience I can say that country folk everywhere comprehend a lot more than you seem to give them credit for understanding. This is filling scrapyards with perfectly good running cars and causing a high demand for new cars. That means more factory production, more pollutants, more mining for/ refining of raw materials, and more fueld burned to ship the materials and products all over the world for assembly and export.

ive posted before about the cash for clunkers program. i own a used vehicle dealership, and we are going under. this is because there are no good vehicles available for us to sell anymore. Not in the $3000 range anymore. all those good cars are being crushed. now, if your used car shopping, and you notice that the cars for sale are either JUNK, or much more expensive than you were looking for, you can thank cash for clunkers because thats what caused this shortage.

some of the good old reliable real American cars are sent to scrap yards to be scrapped and help people with similar models get parts, but a good bit of them are just crushed without even taking brand new tires off. alot of the c4c cars are just mercilessely crushed and melted down to make shitty, poor quality, and overall bad japanese pieces of shit without even taking off good, useful, parts.

Anyway, as I was saying, most people don't understand that the entire purpose of the "cash for clunkers" incentive was to trade-in for something for fuel economical. Some people say "It's because of the pollution in the air. Too much ozone!" & some people proclaim it's because we need to reduce our nations dependency for foreign oil. Surprisingly, there's even an adult DVD: "Cash for Chunkers: These taxpayers don't mind getting fucked!!" Still, it's a damn good excuse to impeach President Obama.

Guys, in your video you clearly state that the Chrysler corporation was going to "match" Obama's $4,500.00 So, according to my math, Chrysler only forked over $3,500.00 of the total $8,000.00 you've claimed. By any chance, did the remaining $1,000.00 go towards paying the sales tax of your new vehicle, negative equity, dealer fees, etc? I would have never traded in my 88 F-150. 300 l6 is so easy to work on that a caveman could do it. And it is built much better than anything new out there I don't care what you like. Just another bail out for the currupt government and car industry. Just another way to bury Americans in auto loan dept for shity cars. @NathansBackwoods Yes I traded in that beautiful well cared for truck that I never drove and got $8000 for it when it was only worth $650 cash. The new vehicle only has about 250 miles on it now, 10 months later, because I haven't been back in the States since about 5 days after I did this. This transaction had basically zero effect on the CO2 in the atmosphere.

From that experience I can say that country folk everywhere comprehend a lot more than you seem to give them credit for understanding. They have a pretty good handle on economics and they are generally good stewards of the environment.

I have a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer that qualified for the program. I didn't cause I only had it 6 months but I would not have traded anyway just on principle.

However, you are 100% right that the CFC program was stupid. I haven't driven that perfectly good F150 for three years and it's bluebook value was ~$600 or so, but I got $8000 for it. An outrageous squandering of taxpayer money, but I'm mad as hell and I am punishing the electorate for what they've done.

ive posted before about the cash for clunkers program. i own a used vehicle dealership, and we are going under. this is because there are no good vehicles available for us to sell anymore. Not in the $3000 range anymore. all those good cars are being crushed. now, if your used car shopping, and you notice that the cars for sale are either JUNK, or much more expensive than you were looking for, you can thank cash for clunkers because thats what caused this shortage.

the deal was too good to pass up. when your getting paid $8000 for that thing, what else are you going to do? keep it? no, that 8k is more valuable. Trade it in like normal people? No. it wouldn't bring 20 percent of 8k because that wouldn't make sense. the cash for clunkers ruined a lot of small time used car lots. and for the record, NO, we are not all dishonest low lifes. some of us dealers are good people. Just had to point that out.

who said i voted for Obama? the fact is that you bought a new car and got $4500 from taxpayer money that you helped pay. you also helped out the salesman , the mechanic that did pre-delivery inspection, and helped out the dealer. those people can put feed their families and pay bills. you will save money with something that gets better gas mileage and have a warranty. the salvage yard that gets your truck after just the engine is seized will make some money. thank you for helping out a few

some of the good old reliable real American cars are sent to scrap yards to be scrapped and help people with similar models get parts, but a good bit of them are just crushed without even taking brand new tires off. alot of the c4c cars are just mercilessely crushed and melted down to make shitty, poor quality, and overall bad japanese pieces of shit without even taking off good, useful, parts.

The vehicles have been purchased with tax dollars paid by citizens.
The vehicles really are property and assets of the citizens.
Its no difference then destroying any other public property.
Higher taxes are levied to compensate for this vandalism & waste.
In a true democracy, a vote on the decision of cash for clunkers program should have been made.
One way to show disapproval is to not buy from these brands till repayment to the taxpayers is made.
