I got the chills hearing about your finger. I injured my finger as well (not broken tho), and the mental stress was the worst I've ever had. I found that my injury forced me to slow down and focus more on my technique, as well as deepened my love for my guitar (and also my paranoia about what I do and what could happen to my hands as an outcome). A year later I am not only back to where I was before the injury, but beyond that point. More of a mental growth than anything.

Once I broke my left arm couple of months ago while jogging and now I took of my plaster but still can't play so well like before, I lost my strength to bend notes. So lesson learned - a guitarist should take care of their both arms. Lol...

I'll be waiting, and go to rehab for your broken finger, I broke my shoulder long time ago and I couldnt srum for years, even now it's hard for me, I play a few songs and my shoulder begins to hurt, so don't forget rehab, phisical therapy.

I know how you feel about your broken finger. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my Left wrist. Well, the Doctor scraped one of the nerves in my wrist and I don't have any feeling in my ring & middle finger. I still play but it does make it a little harder for me. Kinda feel like Tony Iommi with his finger tip issues. But at least I still have the fingers there. :-) Your a great player.
