Dean's accompanist here is Ken Lane who wrote this song. Ken pestered Dean for about 15 years to record this, but Dean always refused. Then in 1964 Dean finally said yes and had his biggest hit. Despite the fact that rock 'n' roll and later rock had taken over the charts, this song blew all of them away and hit number during the summer of that year. Recently saw a tape of Dean in concert in which he changed the line about in my power to if I had you in my shower, which produced a big laugh.
