Evolution doesn't require that someone dies for it to survive. Evolution is a natural fact. It happens.

If I kill all christians, and destroy all bibles, christianity will no longer exist.

When debating creationism, people should really try to avoid Platypus/Dragonfly (Or 1 ancerstor/evertything in the world) comparisons. People have a hard time proving this as it's a highly evloved proces wich requires enough understanding of the subject.

Try to stick with closer related things: Lion/Tiger. You can easely imagin a common ancester there, wich evolved to specific natural environments. Then point out this extends to cats (earlier in history. Then go the banded linsang, mongoose, spotted hyena, and civetcats, which are closely related. Just remember to do this gradually, as high theoretic ancestors are much harder to grasp. But when you keep going back. You get the bigger picture. Cats/Mamels/...
