  • who edited this? mtv fucking cribs?

  • I could not sleep in that tiny space, fuck that! lol sleeping on the dirt all the way! hooah! - Cavalry Scout

  • Fuck everyone who served on this ship in 2009. Especially bm2 croder that guy was a joke.

  • My last name Is Sampson :D

  • It's amazing how different she looks than Arleigh Burke. They barely look like the same class of ship.

  • This is my man's ship :) looks very..cozy haha

  • Good job shipmate..

  • davischris9 NAVY BOOTCAMP SONG

  • i laughed when he said 4 flights of stairs. try 10 lol.

  • No kwalski, they remain in place. They are not called hats they are called "covers".

  • when coming aboard, shouldnt he of have taken off his hat???

  • Go Boats!! He used to be my PO I just found this by accident I never knew they did it. and to all of you who doubt the sincerity of this man dedication to his job SHOVE IT he was happy and proud to be on that ship and our heads were too that clean. Not everyone had Coffin lockers either. Some of us got stand up lockers because we had the top bunk Like myself and a friend of mine. And being a BM isn't so bad as long as your ship isn't undermanned like mine still it was fun I enjoyed it.

  • mtv cribs (US NAVY Edition)

  • i thought i was watching MTV cribs . . .

    thats how you promote RACKS!!

i know that guy ! i used to stand watch with him on the bridge . . .

  • @pogiboy26 racks on racks on racks ha

  • @pogiboy26 what do you do when your on watch and who gets to drive the boats

  • racks on racks on racks ha

  • wow crazy

  • lols MTV BATTLESHIPS lols this is hillarious

  • I can't believe the luxury on that ship!! It's like a 4 star hotel!! I served on 2 destroyers from '68-'72 as a BM2,and they were fromWW2. We had the old canvass racks held together with rope!! And the heads were nothing like that!! Wow!! If I wasn't 61 I'd re-enlist!!

  • @joeythez we kids are spoiled lol

  • was this filmed by MTV?

  • DETROITER!!!!!!

  • MTV(military television) cribs much??

  • unless ur the poor slob in the top bunk

  • wow his salute is so messed up lmao

  • The racks have more then enough room. LOL!!!!!! he could barely turn over!!! coffin locker. great name

  • I've tried serving in the Navy before but, do to immigration and later having small kids I was unable to join...Now I finally get to realize my dream and finally do something with my life with a meaning...I have my ASBV and MEPS in two days...Thank you God for the opportunity...Despite now being from this country and what ever Republicans have to say regarding immigrants I will serve my second (since I was born in another country) God bless USA!!!

  • I spent a year and a half working for Royal Caribbean based out of Miami. I spent a lot of time on a ship, but it wasn't in the military. Are a lot of enlistees coming in over 30? I'm 31 and want to join. OCS seems to be out of the question for civilians. The Officer recruiters will not return calls or emails.

  • this is like a bad episode of MTV cribs.... not to say that cribs is any better....

  • Someone must have worked their asses off on field days for this video. Yes, I think it's a bit sugar coated but the basics of life on the ship is the same.

  • How is life as a Gunners Mate and to GM's like what they do?

  • SOOOO SUGAR COATED I THINK I HAVE DIABETES from this

  • Fuck the Navy and this ship OSSR Slo?

  • This is really interesting. I loved watching it. My husband (We got married in '09 at 18 and 19) is almost done with basic training in the Navy and this is really helpful with understanding and seeing things. THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • "Plenty of storage space?" That's a nice joke Boswun (^__^)

And the ENTIRE NAVY needs that ship's head crew. I've never seen a toilet that resembles a real toilet in the NAVY. It looks so clean, goes against everything I know.

Maybe cuz I've served on carriers my whole time in.

    "Getting a package" That's 100% correct

    My only thing is

"WE NEED THAT HEAD CREW ON MY SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • HAHA MORE THAN ENOUGH ROOM ON THE RACKS MY ASS HE HIT HIS DAMN HEAD

  • Leaving Oct 27th for Great Lakes, haha. Can't wait :D

  • @JustIgnoreDem Congrats I to am going to Great Lakes but my ship date is not untill Dec 16. Good luck. what is your rate?

  • @spli10wiggz why did you join then.

  • @KoNtRoLLrrs Why is it that anyone makes a mistake? Mislead, uninformed, confused....

  • I spent 6 months on cots in Afghanistan and still thought they were more comfortable than shipboard racks:-)

  • @srblake1 ahhh its soo late!!

  • @brittanygerrie No thats what they tell u. In fact, if u didn't show up to meps they couldn't do anything. U have the right to get out "honorably" even after the completion of boot camp. Who knows u may like it, After boot camp if u decide that its not for u, do not be afraid to get out dont feel trapped. Just sayin....

  • OH MY!! Ship life doest look so bad. i can dig. i ship out on may 18th cant wait!

  • AH he's a boatswain's mate i heard that's a terrible job a lot of hard work and long hours and people treat you like shit that's what i heard anyway

  • LoL He's red!

  • Pimp my ship please!!

  • Did the host sailor have sunburn or was he just happy to see us?

  • is it just me or is the navy portraying there version of MTV's CRIBS

  • This isn't fake. He really loves his job. I didn't. Which is why I only did 4 years and got out as OS2. Frigate life was garbage. I wish I had gotten San Diego instead of Jax FL

  • Wow, those racks look small

    *PANIC ATTAAAAAACK*

  • @IAMME000 small? it's as big as a closet shelf. it was big enough for me for 3 years

  • Top racks have a lot more room overhead. Most don't like them, so chances are you can have one.

  • Well, fortunately my enlistment is being waived because I'm taking a NROTC scholarship, so it won't be an issue, at least not for a while :)

  • wow this so fake, makes it sound all good but in reality life ship suck. Imagine being in jail for like 6 months or more.. from a prior enlisted Hm3

  • The Doc knows best.

  • damn there's that A/B drawer again in that rack! LOL dood had no funds on his Navy Federal card! roflz!

  • Master Chief!

  • CRIBZ: Navy Edition xD

  • haha that's what I was about to say.

  • haha this is like military cribs

  • do you think a tall 6'4 person can fit in those racks?

  • Heh. 6'4" should be fine. I'm 6 foot even, and I had no problem with any of my bunks. We had an XO who was about 6'8" and we had a Filipino about 7'2" Both of them walked stooped over almost everywhere. At 6'4" you probably won't have to stoop over - but you WILL have a chronic headache until you learn to duck for watertight doors, pipes and valves, conduits, etc. It took me a couple months to grow accustomed to those hazards - if you're smarter than I was, maybe you'll learn faster.

  • yes they can.. my sailor is 6'4 and he fits

  • It is that clean because I've been on it - it's because its a brand newly commissioned ship. And the Master Chief is that happy - that is her personality! :)

  • Pretty good video. You don't get to see much of the business end of things, but it's a DESTROYER!!! The REAL Navy!!

  • amen

  • I was in the Navy, and thats a nice looking ship, but very fake, I never saw any body that happy in the navey or ship that neat.

  • What do you expect. It's a brand new ship. (Neatness, not happiness. haha)

    FC3 Burbie

  • you are right, i was on the uss sampson DD-10 , . i got out in 1991, and that ship was decom that same year. it was old back then

    from OS3

  • He's Sailor of The Year. He's the best of the best. Nobody's skipping & whistling, but the better sailors have very good morale. The losers are the people with the attitude problems.

  • Lookin good Boats. Keep her safe. -Doc

  • its the navys version of cribs lol

  • That's the first time I've ever heard the word "comfortable" used to describe our mattresses...

  • @EnsignSteve Haha he barely fits!

  • Fascinating stuff, thanks for the tour!

  • It sounds nice...but, if you've been there you know its very depressing.

  • It's every bit as good as you make it. Some people can't handle it.

  • I have to agree with maverickls - whichever service you choose, it is what you make of it. Many people are only marginally fit for service, for a variety of reasons. Those who are there to "serve", and can tolerate some inconveniences manage to make more of their service than others.

  • none sense...living on the ship is so depressing wether you can tolerate it or not. I would compare it to jail..but in jail you dont have bells and whistles going off at different hours of the day... (I have 3 carriers and 2 DDG's under my belt)

  • Do a FOB with some Seabees, lol

  • With all the changes over time some things just stay the same.

  • Totally Great!

  • i can't wait to get my orders!!!!!

  • What's with the MTV style?

  • MOVE OF THESE VIDZ PLS!!!

  • More like this video please!

  • more videos like this one :)

  • very cool. I did my time in the army, this kinda makes me wish I had done a navy stint too!

    (or not!) LOL

  • Ha they made this like MTV Cribs! sweet

  • i wonder what navy SEAL daily life is like (after SQT)

  • Yeah like they would tell u

  • Probably hard. You obviously spend time on the ships though. I'm sure you also get a lot of respect from the fellow sailors.

  • this looks like the USCG cutter TAMPA :)

  • show us the inside of an aircraft carrier!!

  • there's a tv series called carrier on kpbs that show the life in a carrier. Google kpbs carrier full episodes and you can see the whole series for free on its website

  • thank you so much! That's a huge bunch of episodes and chapters! gonna watch now! much obliged

  • it's also viewable on youtube.

  • great!

  • That was an excellent video and a big Thank You to the Officers, Crew, & especially BM1 Jesse Crider....well done, Navy!

  • Good to know!

  • Good job BM1 Crider!

  • Reminds of my Navy days on the USS Spruance. Now retired after 20 years.

  • yay MTV cribs for the navy!

  • lol "looks like my card was declined"

  • very cool

  • very comfortable, my ass! lol

  • He forgot to mention that you only get about 30 seconds to shower...

  • Not so. In port, water is abundant. At sea, water can be rationed if the evaps aren't keeping up. Sailors are taught early to conserve water. Get wet, lather up, turn water off, scrub down, turn water on, then rinse. But, people routinely "waste" water, unless and until water starts to run short. Of course, if an evap goes down, water will be rationed, and you may not get a shower at all. Stuff happens....

  • MTV NAVY CRIBS!!

  • y do i feel like this is MTV cribs lol

  • Sign me up for some chocolate cake and OJ! Sweet video.
