Would you care to post examples of this song (other than this version)? I'm pretty sure this is Yurdal Tokcan's composition. In fact, I was taking lessons from him around the time he was composing this beautiful piece.
This song in slight variations and under different names is played everywhere around the Mediterranean Sea. Greeks have it and the Arabs play this same tune, Pontians, Laz, Sicilian, Morroccans play very very similar variation of this same music - each with their own national name.
very nice, a bit too fast. ideally I would like this to be 10 times slower. Have you tried listening to your recordings slowed down by 10-20 times on a computer, they can sound amazing. You just want to lie down and smoke something and meditate. Try it with a special someone };^)
listening to this again and this time paying attention to your title, i realized this piece is not some yankee doodle improvised on the fly and is actually a composition by Tockan. What a silly composition, totally pop, 7/8 beat good for a turkish bar or club but light years away from Prelude in D minor BWV 999. My comment was on your playing which i still is good and lively ;^)
actually I don't really know if he composed it. It could have been improvised and then later decided to arrange it for a larger ensemble like it's been recorded on his album.
reflect, given what you said. What do you think the composer is trying to say about this Georgian Girl? (and nothing against georgian girls, by the way) Fast, fun, exciting. Yes... pop.. perhaps shallow, and the fling too short lived. Indeed, maybe she's only good for some short lived fun at a turkish bar. And maybe that's exactly what the point of the composition is.
Yo. What tuning are you using for this piece?

@elbluealto low to high C GG AA DD gg cc, tuning the low C to D actually makes it sound better.
