  • dma aka rockstar north made this.

  • Who is the musican?

  • One of the reasons i always loved the Amiga a500 instead of my NES was it was ahead of its time and this was one of my fav games.

  • I loved this game! the music is still AWESOME!

  • I used to pee myself when I heard 'DANGER. DANGER. DANGER' ._.

  • 8:11 Hmmmm, this setting looks familiar somehow....

  • Certianly aint no Vic viper, but this ship seems to get along just fine :)

  • I was a bit unimpressed with the Amiga considering I'd spent three weeks wages on it..then came Menace with jaw-dropping sprites and good adrenaline music. Never did finish it. I totalled a few joysticks trying though! Nice one Cube

  • oh my god, i ve never heard a music like this on any game , even ps3 sound sucks compared to this .AMIGA POWER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lasers.

  • I used to play this when I was young...it used to make me roll up laughing every time I got more 'canuns'. XD

  • I didn't remember this game only had 3 songs :D pretty kickass game from the past

  • sounds exactly like Xenon!

  • This was a great (yet simple) shmup. Dead playable, fairly tough but beatable. I got it on a budget label in 1992 I think. Great times...

  • OMG this is the first game I played on my friend's amiga when I was 6... I never made it through the 3rd level, and then we left the country and never found out about the next levels lol! thank you so much for this upload!!! :D :D :D

  • Smart and sexy aliens... I think I am in love...

  • that was the first amiga game I saw at a friend's house, I was like WOW! Music rocks! Smooth GFX! Parallax scrolling! I was impressed!! So impressed that I managed to buy one myself. Unfortunatelly arcade quality games like that was a rare commodity on the amiga. So many shity games, but lots of fun still.

  • Pumpin up ^^ David at his best ..

  • Oh, the hours I spent playing this back in the day.....I finished both levels in straight shots towards the end, but my skillz are dead now. Still rock it on occasion using WinUAE.

  • I need the intro music in my life.

Someone do some kinda remix please?

  • @aledbutcha

Check the links in our channel FAQ :)

Ha ha... Your wish is my command! I swear they used the same riff... I am sure there is a better remix somewhere...

  • really happy music for a horror shooter

  • Is this played in easy or expert? I tried this game on c64, gotta say that the difference is minimal.

  • 20:43 ya nearly died.

  • The music is that awesome that I didn't want to have to fire at things and drown out the music. I wanted to just cruise through the zones with the music uninterrupted. Fortunately, there was the cheat mode ;)

  • Hmmm... I could have sworn there were more music tracks than just this one for all six levels... Am I mistaken?

Oh, and I still remember "CANNONS" from > 20 years ago. So awesome.

  • I'm fairly sure theres just the one in game tune that plays the whole time.

  • I always found the ingame music a bit cheerful

  • Looks like a really good and well-constructed shooter. Kind of wished I had an Amiga back in the day, but oh well ...

  • wow... I soo have travelled back in time with this game.. the music was totally off the hook.. still is.. truly impressed!

  • DANGER! DANGER!.......This was the best soundtrack on the Amiga a decade later and I still have this MP3 :-)

  • Look for music from Battle Squadron as well. Awesome game too. The one time I got to the last level on Menace, my friend had to go home and I had to turn the computer off. NOOOOOOOOO

  • About 50% of my software (originals & copies) were deleted by my Amiga & ST. Menace being part of that.

  • The music to this game it the dogs bollocks.

  • Comment removed

  • Where can i get the mod/midi file for this tune?

  • I played some kind of different PC version of this. Some names and stuff were different. I think it might have been some kind of modified (illegally?) version. But it was still called Menace so...idk. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

  • Quite a novel shooter this actually what with choices other than what weapon to choose ie ammo management

A little basic in other respects but it's better than i thought all those years ago

Blood Money is more of the same but prettier and again fairly basic a shooter

  • "Out for revenge?" They were all just annihilated!!

  • In Case you wonder what DMA Design do nowadays... they're Rockstar Games :)

  • So these guys made GTA... interesting... I can see the comparison....

  • I used to play this just for the music.

  • lol - have you seen the ST version of this?

  • The "Danger Danger" boss vocie still haunts me even after all these years :O

  • I remember the Karnage from Lemmings

  • "Sea of karnaugh". Nice computer science joke.

  • Amiga's answer to C64's Delta.

  • This really takes me back...

  • Greetings all of you, join the group I made on Facebook called Amiga Nostalagi, AMIGA NEVER DIES, The game Menace, I loved the tune and I played it alot. It was a great hit among others from Psygnosis whom also made Shadow of the Beast, The time og Amiga was just the Greatést time of my life, I programmed demos, games, and much more on my Amiga 500 wich I still have, and I plugged it in this weekend, I just moved right back to 1989s.. Wish I could stay there...

  • amen to that

  • I have the original game somewhere-I remember the music!

  • Must be worth something now...

  • Loved this game... true love

  • this was just like coinop of times, sometime even better

  • I remember getting this game and playing it to death. My friends had never heard sound FX and music like it anywhere.Alas it would only work on the 1.2 Amigas and would not work on the 1.3 versions when they came out..thanks for the brilliant memories.(I still have the original Ackerlight crack also!)

  • Came outa nowhere and shocked all, Amiga owners and non amiga owners.

It was so good that it nearly could have been an arcade game.

Soundtrack will stay with you forever!!

I used to play Rtype in the arcade and then when I came home I gave Menace a bash.

  • My father actually still has the disc with this game ^^ when he told me I was amazed he kept it all these years ^^

  • I love this Game & Sound in the 80'. In menu is a trainer inside. Unbelievable this to see 20 Years later ;)

  • one of the first games i ever played when i was a kid, top top quality and immense soundtrack.

  • Menace had an amazing soundtrack for its time. i remember this game fondly ^_^

  • THIS SOUND!!!! LOVE IT

    ps: Crediz Ackerlight... LOL

  • God the soundtrack to this game has stayed with me for a decade, I love these tunes lol

  • the level music is so good and i love that danger danger danger danger....

  • So many memories. *crying*

  • Oh yeah, almost forgot. The Lemmings level is based in 'Carnage Rift' level 3 and is called... wait for it...

    MENACING!!

    How good it that? HA!

  • I had the PC version of lemmings that came with an audio CD and this track was on there. How amazing. I had this for the C64 when it was first released. Pissed me off greatly and I've been looking for this on youtube for an age. In fact saw it the DAY it came on (My wife's birthday...), how sad! Been fantastic to see it again and watch the comments come in too. Absolutely loved this game.

The Lemmings level is 'Tricky 14' if ayone wants to look for it by the way. (Now that IS sad!)

  • Sweet Jesus, I totally forgot about this game. I used to play it on my 1200 when I was little.

  • The ending, and end boss, is quite a blatant homage to Gradius. ;)

  • isnt menace older than gradius though? im thinking its the other way around.

  • 8:10, so this is where that lemmings level comes from...

    cool!

  • Haha, I noticed that too. Can't remember if the music is similar, though.

  • DMA Design = Rockstar North = People responsible for Grand Theft Auto. Also, the first stage music reminds me of Faster by Manic Street Preachers.
