  • omg kill it with fire

  • So is this 'imprinting' kinda like thinking that some certain person (or other owl) is their parent?

  • Why are you wearing a ghillie suit? How does that help you feed the owl?

  • @MichaelkSimmons the description said clearly that the camo suit was used such that the owl does not become imprinted on humans ^_^

  • awww now i know why they are called screech owls

  • OOOOOHHHH MY GOOOOOSH!! SO CUTE!!! :D

  • im pretty sure dressing up like the creature from the black lagoon is scaring it at all

  • y is everybody writting paragraphs?

  • that's hilarious

  • What an interesting method of feeding this little guy! I posted in your other video, but we also have a baby screech owl that doesn't have its eyes open yet. We currently have it enclosed in a small cage inside of a bigger cage with an adult screech owl, so that it can imprint on him instead of us. I love the sounds they make.

  • They do make great sounds! We raise so many EASO's a year as well as other birds that it would be to difficult to do the method you have described with every bird although we do on occasion..

  • We also do not have another screechy that likes being a foster parent. We do however, have a barred owl that will foster baby barred owls. the baby barred owls are placed in her cage in direct contact with the adult after we know that she is interested caring for the youngster. Foster parents don't always work out some birds just don't want to deal with baby birds.

  • We had a caracara a few years ago that was put in a cage facing one of our adult caracaras. the adult caracara did not want anything to do with the youngster but at least the baby could see the adult. The baby still became imprinted, but on the blue plate that was used to feed him on. We also try and put birds that are the same age together in one cage so that they have a buddy and can see that bird as it grows.

  • All methods including using camo, sounds, a buddy/ or mirror, puppets, and a foster parents are good ways to keep a bird from imprinting but nothing is as good as getting the bird back to its nest with its own parents when ever possible

  • That little screech is hilarious.

  • omggg its so cuteeee -steals- mine =\ i wish it wasnt illegal to own one cuz i would.

  • I think we'd all like to have one, but it'd be a little too dangerous to our health!

  • Its so cute! And what a voice for such a mini thing

  • O M G that is the coolest noise i have ever heard!! :o

  • Have you even worked with these owls before? They are certainly not quiet when they feel threatened ^^

  • Do you always explode at videos containing adorable screech owls?

  • Maybe he's a great-grey and jealous because all the cute wols get the attention and all the great-greys and Eurasian eagle-owls sit at the back of the displays feeling jealous at the screech and barn owls getting petted.

  • Wow, what are you getting mad about?

  • Now I know why they're called "screech owls." Quite a racket this one is making.
