  • Aren't eagles vicious hunters? How do people handle them without the fear of them clawing?

  • @vexion15 They are ambush hunters so they probably wouldn't claw unless they felt thretend but they would more likely peck.

  • @f00tstep So if I tried to touch one in the wild it would peck at me until I distanced myself from it?

  • @vexion15 In the wild? I thought you were asking about captive ones. In the wild I would assume they would rather just fly away rather than chance a fight with something five times their size.

  • @f00tstep Is it possible to train captive ones to be friendly?

  • @vexion15 Probably. Birds are pretty social animals on top of which they are pretty smart. I've seen and heard of cases where chickens, owls, parrots and emus have gotten so intimately close with there owners/trainers that they preen them so why not eagles.

  • @f00tstep They preen them? Isn't that like social grooming?

  • @vexion15 Yes. It's usually only done between really close indeviduals.

  • @f00tstep I want a cute monkey that I can bond with :)

  • I thought that was a bare hand in the thumbnail XD
