  • Mr Second shift...I hope you do - get things together, that is, and come over. Personally, my feelings about where I live swing from "Ugh!" to " Mmm" to "Whahaaa!". ...Come over, old chap, if you can get the money together for a flight. - There will be a bit of hospitality amongst the bollocks

  • I rea;;y dislike shopping (I'm weird like that) and only do it at Christmas. But, by far, the best window shop display I've ever seen is Fenwicks in Newcastle. As for Oxford Street - just skip round the back streets - so much quiter and you can retain your sanity (for visitors, just go along the streets that are north of Oxford St, but parallel)

  • @emma5977 I have never been to Newcastle but I have heard Fenwicks is a good shop and you are right about skirting around the streets, it can save you a lot of time!

  • I look forward to the day I can come visit. Living in Wisconsin Im sure I can fly direct out of chicago.

  • I love visiting london at christmas.

    Thanks for sharing this video.

  • I am glad you like London, thanks for your comment!:)

  • More impressive displays... Nothing beats live music!

  • Thanks Andy, it was great to experience it!:)

  • Isn't is lovely to have fun with all of these people on the street.I enjoyed that time so much that want christmas to be once again.

  • It was a lot of fun!:)

  • Wow!! a steel drum band!!! That sounds so awesome. The horn section didn't sound too bad either. Looks like you guys had a good time. An evening well spent.

  • It was and thankfully the underground wasn't too crowded either! I hope you had a good day yesterday, Brian!:)

  • I did have a good day. I ate way too much though. I gotta get over that.

Do Hamleys still have a good window display. That always used to the highlight of that area :)

  • Unfortunately I could not get on to the path near Hamleys, too crowded! But they did have a Circus master and a dragon keeping order!:)

  • Thanks Cherri! Merry Christmas to you and your family!:)

  • Damn they would never allow this is in the states !! It's to much fun and god forbid the sticks-in-the-ass Americans would allow it.

  • That's a shame ... come to London, there has never been a cheaper time!:)

  • Very nice, Anthony. The HD version looks great. I never thought I'd see a video look so good on youtube. Merry Xmas. Peace, George.

  • Most kind George, thanks! It takes a while to load but it is worth it, plus YouTube gives us stereo too! Merry Christmas!:)

  • What a nice cheery video!

  • I hope Scrooge saw this, that poor Bob Cratchett deserves a day off, for Tiny Tim's sake!:)

  • Now I know for sure !

    "London here I come !"

    Hahaha

Great place, especially 'round Christmastime !

Great video Anthony ! Thanks that you took me with you...

I have a song in mind know: "Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London..." Superb song btw ! I don't know the artist but it's a great description to this video ! Thanks for the tour ! -xxx-

  • I remember that song! London is so affordable now with the Euro and Pound at almost parity, just catch the ferry to Harwich, that is 30 mins from me!:)

  • I looked on your channel to see where you live, and then looked on a map...

It ís not far away from where you live ! LOL

We'll see what 2009 brings us ! Maybe a kiss and big warm hug in real life for you and Nika (That's so much better then kisses and hugs in a comment or email ! LMAO) and then running to catch the train to London ! Hahaha

    We'll see !

Thát would be weird, to see a glimp of someone you know from a screen ! LOL

I let life surprise me in 2009 !

    Happy Holidays ! -xOxOx-

  • very cool

  • Thanks buddy!:)

  • I miss being in the UK. I used to go every other year untilBritish Airways doubled the price of air travel. Especially loved the Hampstead Heath area as it is out of the urban maze of London.

  • Yes, I never flown with BA ever before for that reason, I fly to the US on any of your airlines, always much cheaper and a better level of service even! You get a good view of the city from Hampstead Heath too!:)

  • Wow That's an awesome video Give it a 5/5!!!!

    Have a bless holidays!!

  • Thanks Josh! I hope you and your family have a great Christmas:)

  • good vid

  • Thanks, and thanks for your subscription, favour returned!:)

  • Love the window displays - they are always worth a look. Here the best dressed shop window award went to a pond made from a mirror surrounded by grey cotton wool and a rather frayed Santa!

  • LOL! I used to work in Fortnum and Mason and the window dresser used to win the competition in London every year, but Debenhams was very cute this year, great animations!:)

  • Strictly come dancing has competition

    Hi our Bro and Dominika

    Have a great Christmas

    x

  • Hi Natasha! Merry Christmas to our lil sis and your wonderful family!:)

  • Great Moves dominika ;) Nice to see you teach Anthony dancing hehehe 5 Stars

  • LOL! We are going to a Polish New Year's eve party, that might be fun!:)

  • This is so cool!

But the title really grabbed my attention. You see in London, Ontario where I was born and raised, we have an Oxford Street as well...and for a flash I thought maybe....you were talking about the Oxford Street I know so well.

Ah well, Merry Christmas to you both!!

    Holiday Hugs~Nancy

  • I think that you Americans steal all our place names so that in the event of an invasion the enemy thinks they have landed in the wrong country and go away looking for the USA!

  • LOL..I'm in Canada and I think we have more British street names here.

  • See, that makes it even more confusing!

  • Hi Nancy! Oxford Street is the long street in London where most of the big department stores are ... whatever happened to the good old department store santa? Cut backs I suppose:(

  • Most excellent...I love this! Nothing like street performances to show a city's true heart!

  • And a big bag of coppers to put in their buckets!:)

  • as a musician,I am thinking more along the lines of 5-pound notes!

  • That is around $7 I think, that is a LOT of money LOL!:)

  • That's the attitude that earns these people the title "Starving artists".Come on Anthony,I know about the strongbox you keep under the kitchen floor....break it out and make starving musician's children happy "each and every one" lol

  • that steel drum band made me want to visit Oxford street - or better yet - the Caribbean! LOL

  • Do Poles need a visa to get to the Caribbean? If not we may join you LOL! (Merry Christmas Barack Obama!;)

  • All this makes us want to go uptown now:)

  • LOL! I would, if you wait 'til Christmas day you will miss the musicians!:)

  • I like oxford near Christmas, especially all those electric shops on Southampton road

  • I don't know those, but you can get everything you want in London!:)
