  • Good build! sweet engine, i could listen to that noise all day

  • Thanks for the compliment. I know what you mean....I also like the sound of a Lister diesel very much! Especially the big slow running engines like the VA and CS.

By the way...you build a nice log splitter! Is it a Lister also? Can you tell me the rpm and Hp of that engine?

    Thanks,

    Marcel.

  • Thanks, mine is a Lister SR2, 10HP@ 1500 RPM.

  • i can see theres some wankers here commenting on things they clearly know nothing of .

  • Hi Wistawosta,

Thanks for your reply. Yea....some people think they know everything hahahaha. But I bet they cant even hold a wrench!

  • what a waste, look at that big ass motor for a tiny ass pump waste of resources and polution

  • ps: Its not a gasoline engine, but a diesel.

    Thanks for your reaction.

  • Hi Blownwillyscoupe,

I had thispump lying around. Your right...it is not that big but....It is turning 1400 rpm and filling the tank takes about 15 minutes (8 bar) Furthermore, this compressor can run 24 hours without overheating! Cant see a "cheap" oil less compressor do that. I tried that and it breaks down! The pump is cooled with the engine air The compressor stands now in a little shed behind my workshop. So no noise or fumes. The movie was shot after finishing the compressor.

    Regards.

  • Why such a puny little pump? A 1/2 horse electric motor would have no problem turning that pump. That pump is going to die trying to fill that huge tank all the time. Why run a gasoline engine indoors wouldn't that fry a few brain cell eventually?

  • nice and big tank not like the 4 gal in the stores

  • I'm looking for an even bigger tank! That one I will place next to the compressor for more air storage. You cant have to much compressed air I think! Thanks for your reaction.

  • great engine! could you do a vid of the lister cs behind the ld1 when you start it. looks huge!

  • Hello Angamoos,

I bought that Lister a couple of weeks ago. It should be in running condition but needs a complete overhaul just as the Lister LD1 did. It is also missing its water hopper and has no diesel tank. For the time being I will fabricate a tank and hopper so I can try to start it. I will make a video of it running once I made this items. After that it will be restored in all its glory. By the way..this engine is assembled in Belgium and not in England.

    Greetings,

    Marcel Herwijnen

  • Very nice work - sounds great!

  • Thanks for your reply. It still needs a exhaust so the noise will be less. The plan is to place the compressor outside under a roof. I dont fancy working in the diesel fumes! Also the noise will be less then.

The compressor will fill the tank to 8 bar. everything more is vented off by a overpressure valve. It takes aprox 15 minutes to fill the 200 liter tank.
