COF & Hecate were great at 94 -98. I think it all started at "total fucking darkness" demo. the whole keyboards and screeches, which were great, i wouldnt mind starting a band like this. hahaha. fucking epic!
LOL Dyl Bach ya a Perfectionist Mr Skaven LMAO ya Wind Up Merch @ The RippingCorpse hee hee your Prof says you are in the USA I here and Have read what you say and Agreed but I Like Both and a certain band Called NIERTY ;) err So Yeah I See H.E band members for a Pint and Text etc of H.E. band LOL Who Are you? hee hee Cymru Am Byth ;)
Lets get a few facts straight shall we concering Hecate Enthroned and Cradle of Filth. Firstly, Jon did not copy Danis style and Jon did not teach Dani how to do black metal vocals. Its coincidence that they both have a similar tone to their voice. The fact that Jon was in Cradle of Filth for a very short time has no relevance. Daemonum, even though they presented themselvs as a black metal were more musically death metal. I saw them live (and Jon wasnt the vocalist then) and they had little....
...to do with black metal apart from all looking like pandas. Cradle of Filth were also once a death metal band. They changed their style when the early 90's Norwegian black metal boom happened. If you want to blame anybody for Cradle of Filth being a black metal band, blame Norway. Cradle of Filth and Hecate Enthroned have very little in common apart from a similar vocal style (im talking about old Hecate Enthroned here by the way). Also remember, its been over 11 years since Hecate....
Enthroned sounded even anything like Cradle of Filth. Please dont argue about any of these facts. I was into Cradle of Filth during their demo days and i know the Hecate Enthoned guys better than any of you out there. Fact,
Nice, one of the first times since long this discussion pops up again... Anyway, take one of the first albums from Hecate Enthroned 'The Slaughter Of Innocence' it was made after the departure from COF... It's just known that he 'took' the vocal idea and admitted it. Why you think some years later they decided to make a death metal-ish album to return than to their roots, but more melodical black metal?
Hecate and cradle dont sound the same... the comparison can only be attibuted as per above slightly to DUSK...and im pretty sure JON was helping with the production values ...wikipedia confirms..... Jon didnt copy danis vocal style... the black metal scream was around before dani... . its a progression of vocal sound taking on influences... just like Raphael took on MIchelangelo and leonardos painting techniques after periguino and made it his own..
You did NOT just say that. How can you even compare the two!? CoF are nothing LIKE Hecate. Cradle sounded like Hecate when they did Dusk... Else, the two are incomparible.
Look at Hecate's MySpace as well, their interview video is on there. May be ever so slightly insightful to you after what you just said.
the only time Hecate were good was when they stoled COF's very original style..just face man! they were a copy band, everyone knows that!, and yet still to this day they have'nt found a their own sound
now i've been a strong and supportive fan of Hecate since they started, you can try to compare Hecate's 'The Slaughter of Innocence' and 'Dark Requiems' with COF's 'Dusk' and 'Cruelty'.and any professional reviewer would say Cof's more original, back then at least, nowdays COF suck donkey dick.
You do know shit about metal. The only thing that were similar between both bands were the vocals in the early Hecate albums. The music and the atmosphere has always been very diferent and so is their ideology. Cradle has always been a gothic band and Hecate has always been a satanic band. I always see the same problem in people which are not clear with the concept of black metal.
Noo they did not. Hecate were originally called Daemonum and were around before Cradle even started. They changed their name after they released An Ode To A Haunted Wood demo. So, you are wrong.
good-ol nige, we converse sometimes.. he thinks im crazy lol but yeah.. he's cool. andy does't talk to be much nor does dylan.. don;t know the other people lol so yeah

Cuppycake04 2 years ago
Daemonum was formed in 1993,
COF formed in 1991..
While jon kennedy was in COF he stoled Dani's vocal style and simply put them into Hecate.
Look it up and educate yourself!
