  • How badass do you think an actual anime of Chrono Trigger would be? I'd like to see one that's for sure, provided they didn't botch it up.

  • Frog is the best!

  • There should be a full Chrono trigger anime series

  • I named Gleen in Chrono Cross 'Frog' because of this pimpin amphibian

  • Looks a little like dragonball

  • hahaha, I remember this game... still have the SNES version in the basement... When I first played this game and got "Frog" I named him after my cousin because I thought he would be useless... lol he was pissed, he should have been glad I didn't name him after "Robo" :P

  • ...but chrono can use his kamehameha? D:

  • Dunno, I think the pixelated version of the video looks more badass to me...

  • 0:19 EPICNESS KICKS IN

  • This makes me want to go play CT again.. Frog was always my favourite..

  • Frog theme it's simply the greatest you'll ever find in a rpg

  • That should've been his "ultimate" tech, not Frog Squash...

  • frog is the shit

  • i no right

  • i lol at they look like sound like dbz and hes splitting a mountain in two

  • That's because the creators of DBZ created this game and the cutscenes and Fanart.

  • Actually, no. Close, but not quite. Akira Toriyama (Creator of DBZ) was only responsible for the character design, and he did the animated cutscenes a few years later for the Playstation remake (and I guess they used them on the DS version as well) The game was created mostly by Squaresoft's team that was behind the early Final Fantasy games, though the exact team behind CT is referred to as Square's "Dream Team".

  • @joeywomer Chrono Trigger's plot was originally written by Masato Kato, of Square Enix. The creator of the Final Fantasy series, Hironobu Sakaguchi, and two freelance artists, Yuuji Horii and Akira Toriyama (of DBZ fame) made up the development team. Kazuhiko Aoki produced it. Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu (of Final Fantasy fame) composed the music.

So, what the hell are you talking about? The only think Mr. Toriyama did was the art and cut-scene animation. Squaresoft made the game.

  • @vickaronomie That's what I meant. Sorry for the Confusion.

  • This video needs more TTGL references:

CYRUS IS DEAD, HE'S NOT HERE ANYMORE! BUT IN THIS SWORD, AND IN MY HEART...HE'S BECOME ONE WITH ME, AND CONTINUES TO LIVE ON!

THIS SWORD IS ONE THAT WILL SLICE THE HEAVENS! kEEP ON GOING, AND ONCE YOU'VE REACHED NOTHING, THAT MEANS YOU'VE WON!

WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!

I AM NOT CYRUS, OR SIR! I'M ME! GLENN! GLENN THE KNIGHT!

  • Lol i love gurren lagann

  • You are now awesome.

  • Best scene in any game... ever

  • This isn't a new DS video, it's one of the many added to the PlayStation re-release in 1999...not that that was worth it either, since it was nothing more than a port. It doesn't even recognize the analog sticks.

  • GOku + Future Trunks (SSJ With Sword) + Tapion looks like Chrono if u Fused them Up :D my Opinion only guys

    Goku's Attitude = Chrono's Attitude

Trunks - hair a little bit look a like a Gohan's hair and Trunk's hair

tapion- The Color of the hair of Tapion and the Sword :D

  • @CrucisJon Look at the fucking original concept art. Crono is strongly based on what was originally created by Masato Koto. Just because Akira Toriyama was commissioned to do the finished art for the game, in his own style, doesn't mean it has anything to do with Dragonball Z.

  • Why bother showing the anime cutscene then showing the event in game anyway? Stupid...

  • They showed both because you have the option of disabling anime cutscenes

  • That makes a little sense, but they could have just had the option of having anime cutscenes or the real ones.

  • That's exactly what they did lol

  • Ummm, because the SNES version didn't have cutscenes...

  • This isn't the SNES version.

    *headsplosion*

  • so? it's a port of it, so obviously it's gonna have the same stuff

  • Mine name is glenn, cyrus hope's and dreams, and now with the masamune...

Thats why i will never get this game...

even if its the original dialogue... my memory screams everytime i read it...

  • so who moved the mountain to the left? god?

was frog thinking of beyonce's "Irreplaceable" chorus and it magically moved to the left after he cut it?

    :P

  • First off, Chrono's design was based on GOKU, not the other way around. But personally, I've always thought Chrono looked more like TAPION from DBZ Movie 13.

  • @Toinye Crono's design was based off of the original concept art by Masato Kato. There are several similarities. Just because Akira Toriyama drew it, doesn't mean it's based off of Goku.

  • How did you video tape this?

  • This is a video released by Square-Enix, I didn't make it myself.

  • ohh ok lol i somehow missed that part

  • I think I still will prefer the old glenn:D

I'm gonna miss all the thee and thy talking, I loved that

  • yeah Thats What Made Him So Cool ^-^

  • wasn't this on the ps version?

  • sick... so the ds game has anime cutscenes it it?

  • ya i got it it does

  • same... i pre-ordered it from gamestop so i got the CD that came with it

  • what was the cd?

  • it was a Soundtrack of Chrono Trigger but it only had 2 exclusive songs (Not on the normal soundtrack that you can buy off of amazon) and the 2 songs were the theme to Chrono Trigger Orcastral Version and Chrono Trigger Medly also Orcastral version

  • the very first re-release came out around 2001 for the psx it was the 1st one to incorporate the anime scenes

  • I'm never going to like the animated cutscenes; they don't mesh well with the game at all to me. I didn't even think so when the PSX version came out, and I liked Akira Toriyama back then.

It'll be interesting to see the changes to the script, though.

  • love it!

  • It's nice, but the event looked cooler with the in-game engine than the animated version. At least for me.

And chrono looks a lot like Goku. I mean, really A LOT. I though he was a little different.

PS: That's the first time I saw an animated cutscene in this game. Only played it on snes.

Looking forward to play the DS version!

  • He looks alot like a red-haired Trunks to me.

  • Goku's design was based on Chrono.

  • Other way around, Crono's design was based on Goku. Dragonball came out nearly 10 years earlier.

  • oh!

then hell yeah am i buying this game

  • oh really? :O ...i just got wet in my panties.

  • you mean, chrono trigger ds has animated cutscenes like that inside? :O

  • The DS version includes the cutscenes from the PSX version, yes.
