  • There's a diff between hormonal acne and bacterial acne that might be causing the diff in treatment. I had cystic acne for years, took accutane 5 times!!!!!!!!! . I take beta carotene (or vit A) and zinc in hight doses when I feel im breaking out and i have super clear skin right now :) it has worked wonders. Retinoic acid..retinol,...ACCUTANE...all derivatives of vit A. works for acne but take it safely because its toxic for your liver. and by the way...you are amaaazing and gorgeous!

  • If I do not change my pillow cases, can causes the acne on my cheecks to never go away. But I do not use acne treatment. Because So many it doesen't make a difference

  • i cannot find the comment everyone is hating on

    QQ

  • I've been watching all your videos... and it's 2 in the morning.. I'm going to sleep NOW because of this video!!

  • Whenever I get 6 hours of sleep or less, I notice that I either get more pimples or my pimples become more inflamed. After I take a nap on that same day, my acne seems to be less inflamed. And when I get 8 or more hours of sleep, my face seems to clear up on it's own. (Not all the way but the acne isn't as red.) Sleep is definitely correlated with acne!

  • your so pretty and talk really fast :)

  • did you guys see the cat at around 3:22?!;D it was adorable!

  • Now I hav to sleep I get more time in the nite to watch vids but awwww mannn;(

  • I never seen a prety face like urs lucky girl

  • I like ur prety

  • i like your cat.

  • Great post! I like the way you explain things so clearly, and tie the information together so well.

  • I am going to bed D:

  • Achieving clear skin is such a pain in the ass.

  • I love your videos <3

Your beautiful without and with makeup on :)

  • Something that just ocurred to me. You talk about how sleeping less than 6-8 hours and acne are correlated. Would sleeping more than 6-8 hours also have a correlation?

Other than that, wonderful video, and all of them are so wonderful that I couldn't resist subscribing to your channel! I think you're beautiful with and without make-up, and I'm happy that you're doing everything you can to help people who are in a bad acne situation, apart from other things =). Happy Christmas!

  • Is it mixi? I have been reading through comments and stumbled across yours. I was shocked at the way you acted on such a harmless but helpful video. Maybe YOU need reporting and I will keep doing so. I agree with all the other YouTubers who have commented saying you are wrong. I have wrote an email about your attitude and you will hopefully be faced with the consequences of your actions,

  • I should have been sleeping while watching this.... ironic? i think so.

  • To that mixi chick. She may not be a professional, but I'm sure she knows what she's talking about. It would be different if she had no idea what it was like to have severe acne, but she does. So, it's sorta sad that you're trying to report someone that is TRYING TO HELP people who are in the same boat as her. She isn't hurting anyone, honestly she's making things better for a lot of us, physically and mentally soooo... Hop off[:

  • Cassandra ever since I've started high school, I always have bags under my eyes! Even on weekends when I get enough sleeeep. Further more, whenever I make sure I get a good nights rest on school days, I end up waking up late then on time! But when I go to bed late I end up waking on time...why is this? Tips for under eye bags?

  • can candles cause acne because it is a fragrance? cause i find whenever i burn them i break out:(

  • pretty and a genius

  • Wow, very helpful video :3 Thank you!

On a side note - you sound very well educated (on the topic and the way you speak) and it's much more pleasant to hear than someone who doesn't know what they're talking about haha :)

  • you should be a dermatologist!

cause you wouldn't just feed people expensive medicines that won't work.. you'd actually give good advice!

  • I think you're right I just had a much longer sleep that normally and I woke up with less redness

  • i just love your videos they are soo helpful!!:)

  • @Mixi10S Oh, wow. You're a complete moron. Congratulations!

  • You are so nice :)

  • i have Polycystic ovary syndrome that is definately related with acne! What can i do about it? :( should i take pills for acne? pills for pcos ? or there is an alternative solution? :)

    p.s. you r so sweet!

  • Thanks for the vid !

  • I find there is a big correlation between sleep and acne. I get more breakouts in term time when I'm more stressed and getting less sleep. My skin is good right now I've home for christmas (great when no ones really going to see me because I'm being lazy around my house) so I think thats down to stress. Also as you said about the skin repairing itself, I find even if I take a 30mins nap in the afternoon when i wake up my skin looks more fresh and healthy.

  • I had to re-watch from 3:21 cuz i started to watch your kitty in the background, lol.

  • Thank You for a wonderful, interesting and what is the most important helpful lecture ! thnx ! :*

  • I've always agreed with this.. and the food and acne corrolation.. hehe. Good info though..x

  • I believe every acne suffering person should learn about the correlation between sleep-stress-food, on one hand, and acne on the other hand. It should be phisicians' task to train acne-prone people how to handle with that issue at 360 degrees, not merely focusing on drugs or potion prescription, which in my experience are only worth at treating the symptoms (breakouts) but not the root causes (hormone movements).

  • I 100% agree with you!! :)

  • Hi Cassy, I totally agree with you on this subject! I also wanted to add, that everybody needs a different amount of sleep and it really depends on the individual. Sleeping 8-10 hours each night is best for me... anything less than 8 hours makes me feel bad all day and causes my skin to react. xxx

  • Cassy, you're the smartest 'guru' here on yt! i love (no..i adore!) you! love and hugs from a fan from Germany!

  • I have found that since I started getting 8 hours of sleep and stopped drinking coffee, my skin started to clear up. So I agree with everything that you said. Great tips. And you look absolutely GORGEOUS in this vid. <3

  • You looking pretty here! :D

  • @Mixi10S These are her own opinions. There's no harm in listening to what she has to say- CHILL.

  • my mom says that is true I mean she always say that I should get enough sleep and so cuz it causes acne my mom is a doctor ...love ur videos ur beautiful xoxo

  • Erm. The pituitary is by your brainstem, not anywhere near your forehead. And androgens are a type of hormone, not an actual hormone. It's good that you do have disclaimers that this is what you think for the most part, and I agree that stress and lack of sleep can result in acne, but it's been found that it's mostly the immunosuppression associated with these things that results in acne. There are a lot of peer-reviewed studies that support this, so maybe check out online journals first! :)

  • On some days, probably once a week, I break out over night. I wake up with 1-2 gross pimples on my face! What's causing my skin to break out?!?!?!

  • gosh you're so nice!!!

  • i love your videos they are so informative, you also have the prettiest eyes :)

  • in my opinion you better focus on make up tutorial

  • Sometimes people who suffer from acne knows more than a person who only studies acne. Experience is what counts... She is a great helper... Thanks

  • @Mixi10S Umm, really? Can you pull your panties outta your ass? She's not a health care professional... Noo, but she obviously researched her information. She didn't pull this shit out of her ass. She doesn't HAVE to be a licensed professional to give advice and help to others who may not know this information... But hey why don't you go talk to a dermatologist and sleep therapist and have them tell you the same thing and stop trolling around.

  • As a junior in high school who just spent 3 sleepless weeks stressing for finals, I totally agree. I'm breaking out sooooooo badly, and in places where I've never ever broken out before, like my jawline and my cheeks. TwT

Also, wanted to add that when you sleep, your liver is also detoxifying your body, so if you song get enough, you're allowing toxins to build up in your body, and your liver gets inflamed, and both of these probably cause acne too. Sorry if I'm not being clear, cuz I'm just r

  • @Mixi10S Honestly. Piss off.

  • I totally break out if I don't get enough sleep. It is the #1 cause of acne for me. I don't even use acne creams anymore, I just make sure to get enough sleep. Nobody else believed me but now I can show them this video!

  • @Mixi10S Hi mixi report all you want sorry to have offended anyone.this is just my ideas&my opinion. I always say im not a doctor,&I almost always ask viewer opinions as well. Tis is just a place2share ideas&try to learn. Insulin resistance is not always type 2dabeties, but can be an onset for it. Hyperglycemia is chronic high blood sugar, all blood sugar levels raise slightly after a sugary meal,&insulin brings it back down. i have a video on makeup/acne. You are free to learn from it.

  • you should call yourself the acne guru! (:

  • I hate doctors or whatever crappy bullshit people who display their diploma in Aesthetic Medicine and still give me the same old bloody cream. I WANT YOU

  • Bottom line~ YOU NEED SLEEP!! Lol

  • @Mixi10S Oh, idea. Why not stop watching her videos? Because I for one take her advice and listen to her tips and I have seen a huge change in my acne. Even in my Rosacea. I stopped drinking sodas and eating anything with a lot of sugar. Reporting her videos get you nowhere. And it ruins it for people like me, who get good results from listening to what she has to say. Thank you.

  • @ADayInTheOcean I think Mixi was only pointing out that since Cassie is not a health care professional, information she is spreading may not always be accurate/true as it lacks credibility

  • @miamsg That is true, but I don't think she needs to report her.

  • Thanks for sharing. I have been through alot of illness and I know sleep deprived has alot to do with it. I don't have acne, but I am sure not having enough sleep could agrivate the skin. Again thanks for the insight. I heard on TV you were going into the medical field do mind stating exactly what area? If not thats fine...Have a great day and keep up what your doing for others. :)

  • "Acne Is angry, and were angry with it!" Love that saying!`

  • @Mixi10S she has never once said/wrote...claimed in any way that she is a professional. If she wants to use medical terms then she can. Read the constitution lately? It's called freedom of speech and p.s. that is what you tube is pretty much about.

  • I literally have yawned 4 times and I'm halfway through the video! (nothing to do with you...I'm just super tired!)

  • I hope that this is not asking too much, but can you do another update video on your acne? Please and thank you :) <3

  • Hi Cassandra! I agree with you too, but do you think sleeping early is a factor too? my mom keeps telling me to sleep before 11pm

  • So drinking water helps us with acne too?.... My friend doesnt drink water in the morning just night time

  • thank you! i sleep enough i just need to drink more water and cut back on sugar :(

  • i really struggle to sleep, (which i do think hurts my skin and causes some acne) but also is there any chance types of water can do this? When i go home I break out and I can't decide why. My mother suggested our hard (mineral filled/artesian well) water. Any ideas about this?

  • You are so pretty Cassandra :) I love how you bubbly and confident you are , you are inspiring to everyone that has acne or anyone in general . I love watching all your videos !!! Keep it up :)

  • i should be sleeping instead of watching this, haha.

  • Also, on how sleep can cause acne, from a different POV: when you sleep, your skin bay be rubbing against the pillow, so it's important to change your pillowcase about once a week. Silk pillow cases may be a very good choice both for skin and hair. Also: it would be a great idea to learn to sleep in such a way, that you get minimal rubbing from the pillow anyway :) I sleep on the side, with my face "outside" the pillow :]

  • totally agree with this. i always break out more around finals time (like now!). =(

  • So true! I always see improvements in my skin when I choose to sleep abit more over the weekend. Can I request an updated skincare routine? What are using at the moment? 'Cos you skin is looking amazing! =)

  • I totally agree with everything! I'm in my first year of college - now that I'm on my winter break and getting more sleep back at home my acne has calmed down :)

  • @annaputa413 WONDERFUL! thats amazing:) do you think its because of sleep or lack of stress?

  • there a cat in the background LOL

  • I knew this already :) I learned on my own. I noticed something though, I went to my "acne doctor" and all he did was just look at my face and prescribed me creams. I was upset, and I told him all the details about my acne, and he didn't even say anything about that. He didn't ask me or tell me about health, food, or sleep. Ugh, he was no help. This time, I made an appointment with an actual "dermatologist", but I think it's going to be the same doctor -_-

  • Does that mean that sugar or candy and stuff causes breakouts too - because you said that they will rise incilin levels, which also rises the 'anogen?' levels which causes more breakouts :O So is that true?

  • @Kpop4everxD She has a video about that, it's called Does chocolate cause acne, I think. She talks about sugar there :]

  • @Kpop4everxD technically, in sensitiv individuals, yes. any candies, sugars, and white breads have been shown to increase insulin levels to combat blood sugar, which in sensitive people riases androgen levels and can cause breakouts

  • Before anybody starts, there is NO correlation between masturbation and acne, NONE.

Its a myth, which people with acne believe, as they are more prone to believing everything they do makes thier acne worse.

Masturbate all you want, it makes no difference.

  • you are so smart <3

  • Perfect video!!! Lol... Because I slept at 4 am last night!! -.-" I do noticed that pimples popping up...

  • Does it matter WHAT TIME you sleep? For example, could you sleep at like 3 AM then wake up at 9, and still be fine?

  • @Summerheat94 Well, it's been scientifically proven that the sleep you get before midnight is the best kind, and sleeping from 3 to 9 is only 6 hrs, and you should get at least 8(:

  • @purpleballoon2 Yeah, I was thinking that, but with the amount of work I get from school, I tend to sleep at around 2 sometimes even later, then I have to wake up at 6 :(

Would you happen to know why sleep before 12 has been scientifically proven to be the best?

  • You know so much!

  • You've inspired me to maybe study Dermatology :

  • Not only is she gorgeous, but do you see her house??? Amazing!

  • I DEFINITELY think that stress causes ME breakouts..In fact, I KNOW it does..btw- you are SUPER smart lol

  • Fuuuu, the blowing kisses thing is just mean. Why? Is it just to spite me?

  • The number one thing my dermatologist tells me to do is sleep!

  • Oh I meant to also say that not getting sleep once in a while will not cause the disorders you mention (inflammation etc.). It's when the body is not regularly getting sleep that these problems can happen.

  • how do you know all this about acne? are you a prospective dermatologist? i love your videos. i just wish my androgen levels could go down too so i can get clear skin!

  • thank you for sharing your awesome views on the correlation between sleep and acne! all very valid points! you're awesome!!

  • I agree. There definitely is a relationship between acne and sleep. One of the issues with not getting enough sleep also is that our body goes into a mini version of the fight or flight mode (aka the body is stressed). When we don't get enough sleep, our body is definitely deprived and our immune system is lowered, making us more susceptible to infection...even skin infection.

    Great video!

  • Insulin Resistance? Isn't that just called diabetes lol....

  • ?i like ur nail polish , how about nail polish tutorial

  • at 3:21 theres a kitttyy :)

  • Wow you really know A LOT about our skins :)

  • Your absolutely amazing :)

  • Are you a doctor?

how do you know all this?

  • If you were blonde you'd look EXACTLY like Taylor Swift!(:

  • Why do you always sound so nasal-y? :/

  • Cassy, you really should be a teacher. You'd be the best teacher ever. You explain things in a way that anyone can understand, and you really have the perfect tone of voice for it.

  • @loveisuniquebeauty i agree!

  • Stress and breakouts -- definite correlation. Just check me out during finals and see.

  • can you do a video on at home teeth whitening? and p.s. you are so smartttt!

  • Okay seriously your a year younger than me (we have the same birthday :) ) and yet i really want you to be my dermatologist!

  • I found an interesting article about sleep n skin. Unfortunatly it's in italian, but so useful.I translate some parts: During the night, especially betwenn11pm n 4am, our skin is extremely receptive, cells renew faster, there's more collagen production, the body temperature's higher. So is important to drink befor goin bed, moisturize and put on creams in the evening :)

  • please be my dermatologist!

  • Thanks!

But you can't get too much sleep right? Don't know if this is a relevant question or not, or if it's obvious that you can never get enough sleep! And that is won't cause any harm what so ever:)

    <3

  • :)

  • U are sooo smart I absolutley love ur videos and liok forward to seeinf them everyday!!! I feel like I know u :-)

  • Totally agree with you! If don't get enough sleep I get pimples and especially when I eat bad and eat a lot of sugar!!

  • Definitely right. It's not only about the actual skin regimine, but your lifestyle contributes to that, immensely.

  • Hmm this explains a lot...I get no sleep xD Thanks for putting this video up!
