  • Best SRV song ever, best musician ever to live, best guitar/blues artist ever, I'll miss him forever. We'll ALL miss him forever. No one like him will come again in our lifetime. Absolutely NO one can compare, even the greats admit that, such as Clapton, Waters, Guy, Cray, King, etc. The sky is definitely crying.

  • Sounds like part two to texas flood. Still awesome though.

  • I becmae an SRV fan after I saw him open for the Moody Blues (!) in 1983. He even did an encore! After that, the Moody Blues were tough to follow! Took them, at least, 3 songs before they picked up steam.

  • @bluesfanlenny , hey thanks so much for making this available for everyone.. very cool clip! i'll be back to enjoy it again, with such a cool tune and awesome pics!.. the final pic is quite touching.

  • @bluesfanlenny Remeber him, but dont be sad. Be glad that he is in a better place now. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want people crying over him, but to enjoy his music.

  • @slowhandjjg opps - I meant to say too bad for the 6 who didn't like it.

  • @bluesfanlenny Where did you get that last picture? I cant find it anywhere

  • Damn Stevie Ray, Jimmy, Robert Cray, awesome...great song and pics you guys did a good job paying tribute.

There will never be another Stevie.

  • best music ever...the king of blues...

  • Stevie is still the man and will always be respected in the blues community..20 years this August..hard to believe.

  • @milla7391 I still have images of that news report in my head. Just imagine all the good music he never got a chance to create.

  • Wow 20 years this August and we still miss him so much...BEST EVER

  • Thank you so much for this man I have been looking for this song all day. Thanx for the post!

  • Classic SRV, What a voice.

  • i live in chicago n our blues fest is great, but we need stevie.... to make it better!!! thanx for posting!

  • 2:11 who his..??? is jeff beck..????

  • One of the Greatest!!

  • sweet video

  • Great fotos of Stevie and the guys. Twenty years later and I'm still crazy about this sweet man and his music. It will NEVER die. Stevie's voice sounds especially good on this tune. Thank you bluesfanlenny!

  • absoultly FANTASIC!

  • Excellent photo montage.

The music is classic SRV. Great song, well performed.

Only us bass players would notice how the bass fills out the sound by playing two note chords thruout the song--like a rhythm guitar.

  • Simply put......The Best! Thanks for posting, I too added it to my favorites.

  • beautiful montage of SRV. ~~ i'm saving this to my favorites.

  • @bluelibra65 glad you like it!

  • Stevie's voice sounds terrific here! Thanks for posting.

  • Heavy duty strings, weapon's grade vibrato - Stevie must have had asbestos finger tips!

  • One of the most... almost innocent things about SRV is that he had no idea his outfits looked odd at all in the late 80's. What you saw on stage is what you would have seen on the street. Gotta love the guy and whatever outfit he might have come up with next.... Not to mention loving his pure talent left unscathed by the dismal evolution of rock at the time. My 2nd favorite guitarist, second only to Hendrix and the only one I've ever heard to a perfect cover of Voodoo Child.

  • One of the best southern rock songs ever performed.

  • The devil girl on the back of his guitar was awesome I gotta get something similar to that but put it on the front.

Awesome slide show and one hell of a song and musician. Too bad we don't have anyone nowadays that puts this kind of heart and soul into there playing.

  • @daehkcarc Give a listen to Walter Trout and Danny Bryant, they are killer blues,blues/rock players. Try them I think you will like what you hear.

  • Great fotos! Great music! Thanks for posting! Love you Stevie! RIP sweet man.

  • Sweet! Had me rockin in my computer chair.

  • an amazing song stevie is my fav guitarist

  • stevie ray vaughan was not very technical at all he couldn't even read music and if you dont believe me go grab a copy of texas flood he just knows what comes out on the guitar when he is playin he puts more soul into his music than any other musician that i have ever listen to

  • Unfortunately you couldn't be more than wrong. True, Stevie couldn't read music, but he was a very tehnical player, one of the most tehnically acomplished guitar players in the world of blues/rock music. He brought many guitar tehniques to a whole new level.

  • What a terrific tribute. Stevie's voice sound awesome. Thank you for creating and posting this. Love it!

  • Where is this version from? I can't seem to find it.

  • I believe it's the "Blues at Sunrise" version.

  • Actually Jimi Hendrix wasn't that much of a technical player. He was good, of course, but I think it's fair to say Stevie was technically a more capable player. Jimi was more creative in my opinion though.

  • Wannabefun......I have to agree. Jimi had an imagination that STILL TODAY is a head of it's time. However, he was not technical. He did mix it up with jazz chords and had a lot of chordination going on in his playing. He would combine the notes and it would give me GREATER distortion when he needed it. More notes when you are blasting with Marshalls, the more feedback!

  • R. I. P. STEVIE..

  • why can't people on youtube just shut up and listen to good music,

if you don't like SRV than don't watch videos of his music

  • @hdansin I LIKE S.R.V.

  • @battonpending doesn't sound like it

  • @hdansin Well then, why are you even on this site? Go away and leave the blues alone!

  • @elyulsessence what the hell man, i love blues, just leave people alone

  • Exactly...People in general have a hard time saying anything nice. Someone always has to knit-pick things to death.

  • I like this version..But there's a local musician where I live..Bill Nadeau..check out "Bill Nadeau live blues"

The version he does is SO much better in my opinion. Check it out.

  • Oh come on people. Steve Ray Vaughan was great - unique and original. His voice is like no other. It was a great loss to the world when he crossed over. R. I.P. dear man.

  • Amen brother!!!

  • R.I.P stevie ray vaughan...

  • Wow! not original? Were there two of him? Was he a clone? His playing was embraced by all that heard him.All the greats were original that`s what made the great. They all borrowed something from each other and made their own sound.

  • @pete377 It was stated that he was a COMPLETE ORIGINAL...that's far from true.

  • So complete original and 100% original don't mean the same thing ? Give me a lesson on semantics. By the way, what are "tehniques" ? I'm so ignorant and shallow I've never heard the word.

  • it takes a bluesman to play blues, and man did he play those blues

  • ESTI qu'est bonne ste toune la c une de mé préféré de stevie ray ... ste style de blues la jadores ca .......

  • heart stopping thats all i got to say

  • @marramonster

I don't know if your heart stopped, but it must of at least skipped a beat!

    =D

  • This guy was the best in the business.....wow!!!

  • Dude never hit a bad note. Thanks.

  • Excellent choice bluesfan. SRV will live forever with me.

  • @deebo47 and with me forever as well. I'm glad you liked the video and song.

  • this legend should have been buried with his guitars. its sad to see them knowing he wont play them again

  • One of the best songs I've heard by Stevie. I've heard most of the released ones. Pure soul

  • No one quite makes a Strat sound like Stevie did - he not only sounded the part but looked it too. RIP SRV - you were a complete original.

  • SRV a complete original!? I'm sure He's choking harder than me considering all the Albert King, Hendrix, etc. he regurgitated.

  • He was original, so stop being a prick.

  • @grga888 & your snappy retort is equally original...

  • What was original? Couldn't be his licks. Playing behind his head, between his legs, behind his back, was it playing with his teeth? T-Bone Walker did that decades prior to SRV & did the splits. Indian Head dress? - Hendrix. Enlighten me Einstien.

  • lol

  • @RastafariPoet Well, Mr. RatafaniPoet--you think you can do better? I'm not sure if your being an asshole or what, you are going for but lol is not a good way to express yourself. Let me know if your talents make as much $ as Stevie Ray.

  • I can't type "Lol" without someone taking it offensive. Whats the world coming to.

  • @RastafariPoet That last "statement question" you made was uttered when people first started typing "lol". endless cycle

  • excellent!!.

  • Aaaahhhh...some of the best soul comes from "Deep in 'da Hart 'O"!!! ^_^ Love It!!!

  • what album is this version on? I have a different version which I think is from the sky is crying album but this is a much better version. Great slideshow by the way

  • Blues at Sunrise Album - glad you enjoyed this slide of SRV

  • Yeah, my bad. I got confused, and yes, hendrix would fit nicely

  • Good post...but Clapton is very much alive. I think you mean Hendrix. Anyway...couldn't agree with you more...Cheers!

  • You mean Dwayne Allman, and Clapton is still kicking.

  • greg allman and clapton are both still alive

  • youre right, stevie is one of the greatest musicians of all time. you have to realize that not everyone has the same tastes. those rappers and "mainstream pop artists" make music that some people can enjoy

  • Stevie, rest in peace and may your memory be eternalized! Everytime i play SRV's music he is still alive!!!!

  • Awesome. Nicely done bluesfanlenny. I am an amateur guitarist just trying to get better and practicing every day. .. When I hear Stevie, it makes me cry...both because I miss him and because I have a long way to go as I still suck....but I will keep on plugging and away while listening to this great music...

  • i love stevie, and never tire of his music...I love you stevie..and the last picture made me cry

such a good guitarst and possibly a great man as well :)

  • The Sky might be crying...

But I've been dying cause my Jimmy is gone..

  • he is a freakin legend

  • but regret not having met! shame that are not there!

  • Legend

  • What a talent!

  • Great tribute. Good job.

  • thanks!

  • Great video... Boy do I miss 'ol Bwaydy :(

  • Lenny! Where does that picture come from? (4:01 Stevie portrayed in stained glass)

  • Stevie buenisimo man. GOD recall his angel ...
