Best SRV song ever, best musician ever to live, best guitar/blues artist ever, I'll miss him forever. We'll ALL miss him forever. No one like him will come again in our lifetime. Absolutely NO one can compare, even the greats admit that, such as Clapton, Waters, Guy, Cray, King, etc. The sky is definitely crying.

So precious! Feel like crying! I just love his voice and the intense way he pored his heart out! Not too many singers can do that! Miss you so much Stevie Ray! Can't believe its going to be 20 years since the Creator took you home. We're still listening to your amazing music!!!!!!
Great fotos of Stevie and the guys. Twenty years later and I'm still crazy about this sweet man and his music. It will NEVER die. Stevie's voice sounds especially good on this tune. Thank you bluesfanlenny!
One of the most... almost innocent things about SRV is that he had no idea his outfits looked odd at all in the late 80's. What you saw on stage is what you would have seen on the street. Gotta love the guy and whatever outfit he might have come up with next.... Not to mention loving his pure talent left unscathed by the dismal evolution of rock at the time. My 2nd favorite guitarist, second only to Hendrix and the only one I've ever heard to a perfect cover of Voodoo Child.
The devil girl on the back of his guitar was awesome I gotta get something similar to that but put it on the front.
Awesome slide show and one hell of a song and musician. Too bad we don't have anyone nowadays that puts this kind of heart and soul into there playing.
stevie ray vaughan was not very technical at all he couldn't even read music and if you dont believe me go grab a copy of texas flood he just knows what comes out on the guitar when he is playin he puts more soul into his music than any other musician that i have ever listen to
Unfortunately you couldn't be more than wrong. True, Stevie couldn't read music, but he was a very tehnical player, one of the most tehnically acomplished guitar players in the world of blues/rock music. He brought many guitar tehniques to a whole new level.
I have to be honest.......since Jimi Hendrix passed away, there have been many guitar players who came pretty close.......ROBIN TROWER....FRANK MARINO, but Stevie Ray Vaughan, in terms of technique comes pretty damn close. I don't think any other guitar player can do Voodoo Chile like him. That's the beauty about blues guitar players. It does not involved intricate playing like what Satriani/Buckethead etc....They can't come close to Blues Players in that league. Stevie ROCKS!!!
Actually Jimi Hendrix wasn't that much of a technical player. He was good, of course, but I think it's fair to say Stevie was technically a more capable player. Jimi was more creative in my opinion though.
Wannabefun......I have to agree. Jimi had an imagination that STILL TODAY is a head of it's time. However, he was not technical. He did mix it up with jazz chords and had a lot of chordination going on in his playing. He would combine the notes and it would give me GREATER distortion when he needed it. More notes when you are blasting with Marshalls, the more feedback!
Oh come on people. Steve Ray Vaughan was great - unique and original. His voice is like no other. It was a great loss to the world when he crossed over. R. I.P. dear man.

Stevie was one of, if not, THE single greatest blues musician of all time. Its a pity that he died, but for as young as he was, he sure left one hell of a legacy! Has anyone noticed that all the great musicians like stevie, clapton, and Greg Allman died, but the horrible ones like the (c)rappers and stupid mainstream pop artists are still alive? Im going to have to get Crackin on the Jonas brothers.... Now wheres my gun?
youre right, stevie is one of the greatest musicians of all time. you have to realize that not everyone has the same tastes. those rappers and "mainstream pop artists" make music that some people can enjoy
Awesome. Nicely done bluesfanlenny. I am an amateur guitarist just trying to get better and practicing every day. .. When I hear Stevie, it makes me cry...both because I miss him and because I have a long way to go as I still suck....but I will keep on plugging and away while listening to this great music...

Good post...but Clapton is very much alive. I think you mean Hendrix. Anyway...couldn't agree with you more...Cheers!

youre right, stevie is one of the greatest musicians of all time. you have to realize that not everyone has the same tastes. those rappers and "mainstream pop artists" make music that some people can enjoy

Awesome. Nicely done bluesfanlenny. I am an amateur guitarist just trying to get better and practicing every day. .. When I hear Stevie, it makes me cry...both because I miss him and because I have a long way to go as I still suck....but I will keep on plugging and away while listening to this great music...
