yeah this was always my favorite song ever,to me this song immortilized duane, and became related to his death some how.in my mind ..like he was just about to take off at this point in life
Hate to disagree but Boz' voice is NOT getting better with age. Notice how he doesn't even try to hit the high notes. Also, Derek is great, I love him, but he still ain't Duane, and I saw Duane play. Derek is better technically bit Duane had more soul in his playing.
@zazu173 yeah, some guy's voices go a bit south with age, and some get better. he still sings with a lot of soul and still puts on a pretty good show.
Pigs are flying right now over my house!! Why? Because that is what I thought would have to happen before any guitarist would adequately fill the shoes of Duane Allman! I am completely blown away by the skill of the young Derek Trucks! You can bet that Duane is smiling too!
It could only happen on a Les Paul/ So very sweet and only Boz could play it so sweetly. The band is so, so very right on as always. Thanx for such a great piece of pleasure. Love it, Jet Sepulveda
I'm so blown away seeing/hearing this. I remember it so well from back when it first came out. And I've played it on gigs, and listened to it still over the years. But seeing Boz doing it with the Allmans, it's almost too much....
Always one of my favourite Duane guitar tracks, this has to be one of the finest blues song ever. Derek Trucks achieves the impossible of paying tribute without ever sounding like a tribute artist. He is a phenomenon and his soloing is on quite another level. Superb vocal, superb organ, wonderful horns. You've made an old man very happy by posting this. Thank you so much.
@susea always a pleasure to watch good blues musicians, i fell in love with the blues in 1969 and am still singing and playing, Boz and the Allman Bros have always been two of my faves

Absolutely. I swear Derek is the reincarnation of Duane sometimes. He plays these old Duane tunes so well

I believe to my very soul that Duane lives on through Derek, Warren and The Brothers ...
Watching down and smiling with approval at every glorious note they play.
Good Lord, this is great ...
