  • Like this if Avicii brought you here!!

  • 1:03 + is my fav part :D ty for the upload

  • awesome!!!! Memories!!!! The beginning of the best.

  • I'm amazed at the last thirty seconds of this. What a mix from Visage's 'Fade to Grey' to Zombie Nation's 'Kernkraft 400'. Seamless!

  • 4:29 to 4:41 Visage - Fade to Grey

  • 3:25 resembles the typical five notes from Close Encounters of the Third Kind

  • sid amp two remixes and one original 21 tracks but 21 is zombie nation!!!!good work..

  • Geiler Soundtrack! Da kommen sofort Kindheitserinnerungen hoch. Das waren noch klasse Computerspiele!

  • which of the games had the zombie nation one? i actually dont recall it, and that feels too bad because ive both played this and zombie nation - kernkraft 400 :O

  • seems like it was zombie nation who made it from start anyway!

"Subtune 21, named "Stardust", was remixed by the German producer team Zombie Nation (initially unlicensed, which caused the producers to pay an undisclosed amount of money to Whittaker.)in their song Kernkraft 400.

  • at 1:30 is nenas 99 luftballons

  • Zombie Nation start at 4:40

  • I hear Blacmange's "Living On The Ceiling" in there at 4.04!

  • The second to last song is Fade to Gray by Visage lol

  • And this is how the mighty Zombie Nation was born

  • So when does it start selling microwaves?

  • Thank you so much for posting it!!!

  • Wow!!! Going back in time!!! This was my favourite C64 music with the ones of Bozo's night out!!!

  • I hated that green trolly thing the most. The rake/broom thing always clipped me when I jumped it.

  • @jazzpsalti

Yes, and I would listen to them all. ;-)

Lots of talent in this tunes ^^

The part starting at 2:47 should be mixed i think! Let some good Hip Hop artist work his magic on it would rock.

Thx Lil John for Red Nation.

  • Das geht ab! Zumindest für mich! Hab das game noch auf dem C64 gespielt. Die Musik war das motivierendste an der Kiste ;-)

Ohne Musik hätten die Games keinen Spaß gemacht.

  • @Orkoto

btw ... later they became underworld!

  • 1:30 Nena - 99 Luftballons

  • 1:31 99 luftballongs by Nena :)

  • This was a good game. Or should I say good games...

  • 4:31 - gorillaz used it in a song

  • @dhalsim33 which song did they use it in?

  • the best videogame soundtrack ever! tnx for the uploading !!!

  • great raw synths .. iwonder why nobody uses them anymore but im sure thats about to change in less than 5 years

  • @dhalsim33 I've heard a lot of SID-like sounds in modern tunes lately. Frankly it pisses me off, they took our shit and used it in their stupid music :).

  • Man I used to thrash this game as a kid

  • great game with cool music mix :D thanks for upload :)

  • Is it me or is there at bit of visage "fade to gray" starting at 4:29?!

  • Comment removed

  • 4:40

    Zombie Nation

  • except this game came first

  • @McLarenMercedes

I wish Kernkraft 400 would give some credit to the creators of Lazy Jones for the tune. :\ sad story.

  • @westygw Kernkraft 400 is the name of the song, the artist was Zombie Nation

  • @dextramorph

well ; actually this was first and then he took it as a remix 10 years latter

  • whats the tune at 3:38? has anyone ever done anything with it?

  • 2:47 - could also be Cry For You - September

  • Living on the Ceiling - Blancmange - 4:04

  • Good old times! :-)

3:38 Which song is there played??

  • whenever somebody talks about something boring i play this soundtrack in my head :p and can you imagine how much money the musician made making these 1 finger keyboard melodies?

  • Zombie nation kernkraft 400.

  • 2:47 --> Bronski Beat - Small Town Boy

  • 99 red luft ballloons at one point

  • Would you happen to have a MIDI file of this?

  • p.s. you missed the screeching section which was the coolest part of the whole game lol

  • @jazzpsalti that's odd, this is all that was in the SID file..

  • @PeeterCZ It should be because the screeches were actually sounds, and not part of the soundtrack which was in the background (if i recall right, the screeches replaced the minigames sounds which would confirm they were sounds and not part of the music)

  • @jazzpsalti no, it wasn't

  • @joe588 totally was!

  • lol, ALL these tunes could make techno hits

  • @jazzpsalti And most of them have, if I'm not mistaken. I mean yeah, there's Kernkraft 4000, but I recognized a bunch of the other tunes as well.

  • @jokester007 nice, yeah I only really know this sid set, not the covers... I like electronic music but it's not my number one so I have only heard the Kernkraft thing... If you find the others you can write David Whitaker and have him get in touch with the other people covering his music... make the guy some money lol :)

  • @jazzpsalti Listen to Avicii's Lazy Lace..it was actually a remix of this song but ended as a completely original one

  • does anybody know where i can get the note sheets for all the melodies?

  • @brasamaan I think the best thing to do would be to obtain Lazy Jones' SID file and convert the tracks in it into MIDI files... :) There are some programs for thatt

  • @brasamaan

    vgmusic.com/music/computer/commodore/commodore/lazyjones.mid

There you go :) just turn it into sheet music on Noteworthy Composer or something :)

  • Download link is down :(

  • Its so interesting how old games soundtrack has so many good beats.

  • @murotin112 thats because the sounds were simple and the melodies actually had to be good! im not one to dis trance cos i love it but most melodies are updownupdownupdown on the matrix xD

like di do di do di do etc. xD

  • Anyone knows what the tune is at 2:47?

    It sounds sofamiliar :s

  • 4:29 - 4:42 fade to grey, 4:42 - 5:01 zombie nation xD

  • lmao yea tis innit XD

  • wow how did they be so actual?

  • Listening to this for a while can drive you insane.

  • wooow! long time I haven't played this game!! remembers my childhood!

  • 1:30 --> 99 luftballons... Cool :)

  • last song is zombie nation???

  • Zombie Nation used that part of soundtrack in their Kernkraft 4000, so... yeah

  • @PeeterCZ

    Kernkraft 400 , not 4000 :D

  • The first tune (0.00 / 0.25) seems an arrangement of Giorgio Moroder's "Underdog"...

  • 99 red balloons at 1:35

  • @daviddust123456

Actually it's the GAME that rips off Nena - 99 Red Balloons. The song by Nena was released in 1983. The game was released in 1984.

The song in the game plays during a level called "99 Red Balloons" as a reference to Nena's song. I don't think any rights were given to use the melodies in the game.

Whitaker, the game's composer, also took melodies from several other songs. Knowing this makes it funnier that Zombie Nation stole a melody from Whitaker. :-D

  • @pulseforce I don't know if I would use the word stole as I do know that they paid a large amount to Whittaker for the rights to use it.

  • @peterloyd2000 No. It was outright stolen. Then they were sued by Whittaker 10 years ago, who received a very small sum from them (in relation to what he should have gotten).

Zombie Nation then broke the terms and continued to claim sole ownership of the melody, denying Whittaker's right to royalties, and so on. That lead another case, which opened April 21st, 2010, to re-establish Whittaker as the owner and dish out some pain to the thieves. Google: commodore remix whittaker sued zombie.

  • @pulseforce Continued: The Google search I refer to at the very end of my previous comment will take you to a forum thread, where David Whittaker and his friend themselves speak about the case. The case was postponed "due to the Iceland volcano eruption" (yeah, I don't see the connection either), and will be resumed tomorrow, September 15th, 2010. I suspect Zombie Nation will be greatly wounded by this and have to cough up a *lot* of money, which serves him right for being an asshole.

  • @pulseforce Ohh. Ive been working in the industri some years ago and I was not aware of the specific details. You know, you hear some things here and there and sometimes you think you know enough about the complete subject. Very interesting indeed. I hope he wins.

  • @peter. Indeed. David W. deserves recognition and royalties since his brilliant melody has generated millions for Zombie Nation, who has gone on to license it to hundreds of movies, games and tv series, despite having no rights to do so. The melody was still owned by David, who had very generously licensed it for use in the song but retained all rights to licensing and covers. The latter is what ZN ignored, and they have made millions while acting like they owned the melody and all its rights.

  • @pulseforce But there's a big difference between integrating a couple lines of someone else's melody into your own tune, and just stealing the tune outright and adding a drum machine to the mix.

  • @nwimpney yes, the its those couple of lines that have made the song so recognisable

  • @pulseforce visage - fade to grey is also in it :D

  • @pulseforce thx a lot for the hint for 99 red balloons. from 1:20 - 1:40 u can hear clearly the song out

  • it looks like my dog

  • the door or the plant?
