she has to be the queen of england and she will always be forever and ever,, even kate middleton coudn't compare with her,, DIANA, THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND
i was 7 when she died and i remember my mother crying and i knew she loved her for the kind of human being she was but as i grew up i realized that she was loved by all.She was such an inspiration to all young and old alike.I love her a lot.
i rember i was in 3rd or 4th grade, all i did was kept watching it over and over again and i still get chills up my back and arms, and i also rember looking at harry just wanting to comfort him and be his friend. cause harry and i are a year apart.
what a wonderful, special woman, I loved and admired her so much! I watched the funeral on TV with my closest friends and we cried all the way thru....it was such a terrible week. She is still not forgotten and we miss her.How sad that she couldn't be at her sons wedding. She would have been so happy and proud! The videos show how much everyone cared, all over the world. It's good to watch the funeral service again and keep her memory alive, always. R.I.P.
I am too young to even remember her as she sadley was killed before I was born, but that doesn't stop me from haviing less repect for her, she is a hero
she was an amazin gorgeous lady and she had just found her 1 true love and was startn to be happy again and this goes and happens rip princess diana we all loved u x
I was very young when she died. I never knew about her then but as I watch this my eyes are swimming with tears. It's like I've known her my whole life and was a dear friend of mine even though she wasn't.
It may be a little to late to say this but Diana rest in peace. You are always remembered and loved.
I believe that I was around 1-3 years old when i saw this on the television and I didn't understand except for her title. She was truly beautiful and elegant in many ways. And now that I am 13 years old, I know how I should be feeling. I hope that she's in heaven watching her son's wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey then at Buckingham Palace. May God Bless Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth, Duke of Cambridge, William Arthur Philip Louis, Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry.
I was 1 year 6 months old and somehow i can remember this. Not all of it but i remember a day where everyone was very sad, my dad cried and my mum was watching the tv a lot and everyone kept saying diana.
Its funny how the mind can decide which memories are important enough to keep.
diana had an amazing life and inspired a great deal of people she may be gone but will never be forgotten thank you diana for your inspirational personality. i speak for everyone when i say rest in piece you beautiful princess. xxx
She would have been proud of William and Kate + everyone else today. Wish them two the best. Even though i was only 10days old when she died i have heard storys about her and she sounds lovely. She died to young. she should have became queen one day xx
i wish i could have been alive when she was so i could truly know what an amazing person she was. it is such a tragedy and a shock at how someone can leave this earth so quickly. she is truly and deeply missed. may she rest in peace
American here.... I was either 10 or 11 when Princess Diana died. I knew she was a very kind and loving woman, had done a lot of things for Britain and was kind enough to pay America a few vists.
I felt the world get a little bit darker without her majesty's presence. I will be watching the wedding of Willian and Kate, I'm sure she would have been very proud of them.
Can you imagine? When people were shunning HIV-positive patients Diana hugged them and showed the world they deserved compassion. A beautiful person inside and out
I was 5 when she died. I cried. I didn't really know who she was. Then I started learning international history when I was 7. I still can't describe how Diana is like.
Even the best words couldn't describe how she is. I wish she lived her life longer to see Prince William get married this week.
RIP Lady Di. Good people are gone too soon. The Angel has gone back to His place in heaven.
I was only six years old and was on holiday in Germany to see my family when the news reached us that Princess Diana had died. We returned home immediatly and I went to my room and picked up a mould figure of the Princess I made in class (it wasn't good but I was only 6) and I cried my heart out asking my Nan, 'Why did our Princess leave us? Why did she go away?' I've always remembered that ... God bless Princess Diana, the heart of Britain, perhaps even the world.
The Papers hounded her to death. They crucified her. I remember the Sunday Papers the day she died. Obviously printed and distributed before the accident. How the humiliated her with pictures of her in bikini with Dodi on their yacht. The words the said about her. Being immoral. Even suggested she was carrying his baby. The next day these same papers, (their daily ones that is), turned 180 degrees and suddenly were spouting Blair's Platitudes about the People's Princess. Bloody hypocrites. RIP
I cried with joy when I saw her getting married to Prince Charles. And I cried again when I had to see her laid to rest. Even as an American, I somehow identified with her in her pain and sadness due to her marriage failure to the Prince. And now, I watch with joy her two sons as they thrive and continue on in her legacy. She was loved by many in her life and in her death too. I still miss her.
This was the first big news story I can remember. I was nearly seven years old, I got up at half six in the morning to watch cartoons with a glass of milk, my parents were still in bed. I wondered why it was just news on telly and I wondered why my cartoons were, and then I realised. I went upstairs and told my parents, "Princess Diana's died" and my mum told me to stop being silly and making things up, so I told them to turn the radio on. I remember it like it was yesterday. Weird.
She was remarkable but what is sad is that Mother Theresa passed away right behind Diana and all that she did has been shadowed by Diana's death. Mother Theresa spent her entire life doing good things. That month brought two tragic deaths and the world hasn't been the same since they both have gone.
She made not have been an official queen, however she achieved so much more in her short life. I recall watching her marriage to Prince Charles here in the US, then I recall sadly watching her funeral as well. I stayed up many hours to watch both, both times I cried. I now watch still with tears, as the WORLD truly lost one of the most remarkable people, along with Mother Teresa in the same week. I know many believe her death was no accident, however it does not change anything. RIP Diana
So sad! I was eight when this incredible and courageous woman left us. Two worldwide known humanitarians died within days! Princess Diana and Mother Teresa, almost a week later.
thank-you very so much for this,I love princess diana.....she was amazing,It's so sad that she was killed:( I will miss her gratefully.....I LOVE YOU DIANA,
@raider8sox same here raidersox. i was seven when she passed. my mum and i watched this and jes cried through the whole funeral. my mum loved her and she told me what a great person diana was :)
@EvilgidgitReturns It was indeed. The interesting part is Mother Teresa died after Princess Diana so her death wasn't paid attention to as much as it would have been had that accident not happened. In fact they were so focused on Diana I didn't even have any idea Mother Teresa was dead until a couple days after she had already died.
Sincere thanks for uploading this....I remember at the time I was working in Jeddah Saudi Arabia and managed to get an extended lunch hour to watch the funeral. However never managed to watch it all till now....
Princess Diana was an absolutely incredible woman, and is still quite sorely missed. My girlfriend Lisa's niece Shana was born the day Diana died. We'll never forget that day.
thank goodness you upload this recording on youtube, hopefully it will last a bit longer than in vhs. and you would wanna make a copy of it into a dvd too, this is a very historic moment.
I was 6 years old.. And i remember my dad telling my mum princess diana had died! At 6 years old i really didn't know much about her.. I only knew she was a very important women who helped millions off people around the world. :) 12 Years on.. people still talk about her .. People remember her... Please leave flowers at buckingham palace every year to celebrate her life.. RIP PRINCESS DIANA ! xx
RIP Diana!! i'm american but i'm so sorry to all the british that they lost a good hero. don't worry guys, that fucking paparazzi will pay for what he did and he'll probably die of the worst death you could ever imagine! no offense to anyone but i think prince charles is a dick and he acted like he never cared about the death of diana, anyway god save the queen and i hope you all have a happy holiday!
@Goddess167989 she was in reality nowhere near the person media portrayed her to be. She sought out media attention and was obsessed with her public image, trying to manipulate the public whenever she could. Evidently she succeeded
i sorta knew who she was being a 9 year old at the time but i too remember my mother sobbing watching this funeral...and the highlighted progamme later that evening :p so sad
I was only 7 when this happened.I did not even know who princess diana was.but all my family members cried.i,without even knowing who this princess is,too cried.very sad indeed.
This was so sad - I was only 5 at the time but I remember sitting on the living room floor at my mum and dad's feet, not having a clue what was going on. I'll never forget seeing them nearly crying when Elton John was singing Candle In The Wind :'(
Its particularly sad this repulsive COMMON WHORE camilla has caused so many problems and is clearly detrimental to the monarchy as a whole. Charles is of course responsible for persisting with this vile cancerous syphilitic low life prostitute. Hopefully before too long they will both be eradicated perhaps by a nasty accident although its clearly obvious now the Queen will continue as long as her mother and never retire as once was considered a possibility IF charles had acted appropriately.
I remember I was in South America and I got up at 4 AM to see the funeral. It was so sad and touching. She was going to visit my country that same year but she unfortunately passed away. Diana Thanks for your legacy. People might not recognize it but what you did to stop anti-personnel mines in the world was huge! You saved lives Diana! I will tell someday my children about you and about the kind person you were. R.I.P.
I recorded this on vhs as well. Diana was and still is my idol. There are few strong female icons that we have seen in the past 100yrs, but she was no doubt on the top 5.
I am an American and still feel her loss. I was devastated when CNN went into Breaking News 12 yrs ago.
Rest In Peace Diana...You will always be the Peoples Princess worldwide.
I think it(Diana's passing) had much the same effect on the ones who weren't alive or old enough to remember in the US as JFKs passing did to people in that time
I was 4 years old at the time and could remember being at my great aunt & uncles watching it round the tv. I remember my grt aunt was upset and i didnt know what was going on.
Now I certainly AGREE with you on that one! How Charles could choose Carmilla over Diana is beyond me!! I sure hope his mother out-lives him as he deserves no royal title!
I Dont think the queen will give up the throne to Charles. Her father became King because her uncle abdicated because he also married a divorcee. I think she is waiting until a time when William is old enough for the responsibility.
Dont you think it was a bit odd for Prince Charles to act all sad and down, after all she died while she was partying with her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed......
Not at all. His sons lost their mother, and that's probably why he was sad. I'm sure he didn't wish this for his sons, to lose their mother so young. While the marriage wasn't a good one, I think he respected her as a person, as the mother of his sons, even if he wasn't in love with her.
@volcanictruth well atleast she was a fair person in her life she was never loved by her husband and thats a shame that a man destroys the life of a poor girl by marrying her and not giving what she deserved. If he didn't love her why marry her?She deserved love just like everyone and just because she was a public figure doesn't make her less human to have a right to live her life the way she wanted.Peace.
I remember this....news was all over it...Mother Theresa died either a few days before or after she did...then the next big thing was Y2K, 9/11, Iraq, Obama, and now MJ
all of the good ppl are dying yo princess diana and michael jackson nd bernie mac and james brown and elvis presley are all in heaven now ...... this is unforgettable
princess diana private life was her own business, i admired lady diana for her good heart and the good she wanted to do for others, she was a wonderful woman and it was really sad when she died, may she rest in peace
i remember this like it was yesterday. such as tragic and controversial time. every magazine talked about the crash and conspiracies behind it, her marriage, and how her sons are dealing with her death, and then the funeral. this might have been, other than mother theresa'a funeral, the biggest funeral, i've ever seen. time stopped on that day.
Whether the outpouring of grief was rational or not, it's easy to forget how high emotions were running that week. As a 16 year old who admired her very much, I was very touched by her death and even now, am choked to watch anything about her. It's the same when anyone is taken before their time - it's the loss of potential...JFK, Eva Peron, RFK, MLK, John Lennon...all their deaths were mourned in similar ways, with mass outpourings of emotion because of that loss of inspiration.
I cried off and on for a week. I wasn't sure why either. I really didn't follow Diana's life that much up until then. But I have since become a devotee . A lovely, honest, very human and courageous woman. She certaily knocked the facade off Buck House during her short life. I admired her bravado standing up to a dishonest husband and his family. She is the one that history will truly honour and remember for everything good that she did.
french curse, da vinci code mystery , britain losing usa because france helps out, diana dying in france, england go out on penalties football world cup 98 penalties, lose rugby world cup07 in france. does any one else know any french curses
AdArmand, I just want to compliment you, for a great comment. It was something new, something I've never heard before and something I totally agree with. RIP Diana, I wish you were back.
I was at the beach with my family and it was a holiday, i remember that it was cloudy and it was raining, and listening to radio in spanish and i could understand some words, and heard that princess diana was in a car accident and passed away. it was really sad. all of us were having a great time and then this happen. i stood up all night to see the whole thing. i didnt care for staying up all night and watch this. diana is my idol and she will always be.
She was my heroine. Naturally beautiful (no one is as beautiful since then), kind, great mother, hardworking.... mean people (including her in-laws) broke her spirit... i cried for her then, and still feel the sadness. Thanks for the videos...
It's funny, today people personally attack Diana for the reaction to her funeral, like she was orchestrating it from a cloud. I see where they are coming from, but they should stretch the imagination and accept that human beings are generally emotional ;)
Well said. I adored her for many, many years. Such a great loss. I'm going Althorp in July to take some flowers for her. The world is not the same without her.xx
On a more serious note I made the decision to take my young children swimming on that morning. All of their schoolfriends had been talking constantly of watching the funeral on TV. I didn't deem it appropriate for young children to dwell on such tragedy.
Well at work in Scotland soon after I uploaded these videos I asked my colleagues what they were doing on that day and most of them said they took advantage of it being quiet outside to go and do things. One went horse riding, one drove to the Highlands for the weekend and another went to the cinema. Friends of my dad's went down to London and then took in a west end show in the evening.

RIP Diana!! i'm american but i'm so sorry to all the british that they lost a good hero. don't worry guys, that fucking paparazzi will pay for what he did and he'll probably die of the worst death you could ever imagine! no offense to anyone but i think prince charles is a dick and he acted like he never cared about the death of diana, anyway god save the queen and i hope you all have a happy holiday!

Princess Diana was loved by the whole world. Truely a remarkable lady.
Goddess167989 2 years ago 175
@Goddess167989 she was in reality nowhere near the person media portrayed her to be. She sought out media attention and was obsessed with her public image, trying to manipulate the public whenever she could. Evidently she succeeded

She really was remarkable;totally different from the rest of the royals. She embraced popular culture at a time when such was frowned upon.

Now I certainly AGREE with you on that one! How Charles could choose Carmilla over Diana is beyond me!! I sure hope his mother out-lives him as he deserves no royal title!
San47di 2 years ago 8
love = love, and Camilla has made Charles much happier as Diana ever did. She was a facinating person, but very complicated.
agontry 2 years ago
I Dont think the queen will give up the throne to Charles. Her father became King because her uncle abdicated because he also married a divorcee. I think she is waiting until a time when William is old enough for the responsibility.
superbev2000 2 years ago
Definitely! Even Diana would ask friends what Camilla had that she didn't--Diana was gorgeous, young and radiant.

Dont you think it was a bit odd for Prince Charles to act all sad and down, after all she died while she was partying with her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed......
volcanictruth 2 years ago
Not at all. His sons lost their mother, and that's probably why he was sad. I'm sure he didn't wish this for his sons, to lose their mother so young. While the marriage wasn't a good one, I think he respected her as a person, as the mother of his sons, even if he wasn't in love with her.
godsfiddler 2 years ago
@volcanictruth well atleast she was a fair person in her life she was never loved by her husband and thats a shame that a man destroys the life of a poor girl by marrying her and not giving what she deserved. If he didn't love her why marry her?She deserved love just like everyone and just because she was a public figure doesn't make her less human to have a right to live her life the way she wanted.Peace.

i remember this like it was yesterday. such as tragic and controversial time. every magazine talked about the crash and conspiracies behind it, her marriage, and how her sons are dealing with her death, and then the funeral. this might have been, other than mother theresa'a funeral, the biggest funeral, i've ever seen. time stopped on that day.
tyreesemj1 2 years ago 3

It's funny, today people personally attack Diana for the reaction to her funeral, like she was orchestrating it from a cloud. I see where they are coming from, but they should stretch the imagination and accept that human beings are generally emotional ;)

why is everyone on this page decalring their IQ level when they watched this funeral? I was 147 and that's why I did not watch it !
jaggedthistle 2 years ago
Mildly amusing, that's why I've published it. If it's IQ, then I'm the most intelligent of all the posters so far with 20!
tribecatom 2 years ago
On a more serious note I made the decision to take my young children swimming on that morning. All of their schoolfriends had been talking constantly of watching the funeral on TV. I didn't deem it appropriate for young children to dwell on such tragedy.
jaggedthistle 2 years ago
Well at work in Scotland soon after I uploaded these videos I asked my colleagues what they were doing on that day and most of them said they took advantage of it being quiet outside to go and do things. One went horse riding, one drove to the Highlands for the weekend and another went to the cinema. Friends of my dad's went down to London and then took in a west end show in the evening.

P.S. If you're 24, how come you had young children when you were 13?
