@Darkshadow652 It's so poignant. There are no words shared between the two; just a look, a kiss, and a comforting embrace as he is slowly burnt alive. In the end he dies with his humanity intact but she is left alone realizing that she truly loves him after everything they went through. Sad? Yes. Poetic? Very much. But honestly, I can't see any other way to end this film except through this path.

What do you think the movie was about? In the movie Eben and the gangs goal was to survive. If Stella did hide him he would have turned and probably have killed her along with all the survivors. It would have been like undoing the whole purpose of the movie.
