Without a shadow of doubt Norman Wisdom was the most talented of British entertainers. He brought millions upon millions so much joy and laughter through his comedy films and countless stage performances.A great singer and had amazing talent on Clarinet and Saxophone. His charm and humbleness was staggering and he could have pull my heartstrings with blissful ease and his memory must live on through our children and our children's children.
I never had the honour of meeting Norman, but i feel a very real pain in my chest when i think, one of my heroes is no longer around for me to hope to meet.
@tennyson100 I agree with you there, It was very sad..I am 17, and I was practically raised on Sir Normans films, introduced to them by my late grandmother some 12 years ago.
Follow A Star ( 1959 )(45rpm singles) thanks for the film info i have follow the star its in the itv box set i found the flip and then renmemberd the comment Madeley
made and got wrong but why didant norman correct him??
@timtcroke As usual Madeley`s facts were wrong which is why Norman was confused when Madeley said it was a clip from Steamboat !! It`s not !! It`s a clip from Follow A Star ( 1959 ) with Glyn Houston in this particular clip.
What a difference between this hilarious, genius, endearing, cute as a cartoon gent, and the smug tossers on TV today that think they are funny but infact are as funny as a severed leg!IE;Ricky,Gervais,Russell Brand,James Corden,Ant & Dec,(met them, absolute arrogant smug wankers)Ross Noble,Russell Howard and the super unfunny Stewart Lee!
@2HonestIam Couldn't agree more! I was brought up on Norman Wisdom films and remember how the whole family would sit round and watch uninhibited. The kind of humour you get today you have to check that the kids aren,t in the room and even then it can be embarassing for the adults to watch!
They do not make them like this gent now - funny and no smut....Max Miller,Jimmy Edwards,Ted Ray,Arthur Askey,Tommy Trinder.....Sunday Night at the London Palladium - in glorious black & white 405 lines.
This man is one of the last greats. Why is there no one who can take his place? Its very sad to think that this art of innocent comedy is gone forever!
Nobody could ever make a film about this man! Nobody would ever believe it! I`m just thankfull that I`m old enough to have seen him in his prime. What a star! Burn brighter for ever Sir Norman!
I remember NORMAN WISDOM when i was growing up,He was then,And still is now one of the funniest men ever,The man was a genious,With very few equals,When you consider the rubbish which is around now,(2010)He was a different class,I for one will never forget him,The world is a richer place for having NORMAN in it..
what a man ,, i loved him so much as i was growing up,,many times have i laughed at him acting the fool,, norman your a one off ,, the greatest in my books , take care love you always your biggest fan brian
Sir Norman, and memories of Kinos in Cologne, W Germany, middle sixties, fond and funny memories of a man that made many a sad day feel a lo' jollier. Thank You, Sir Norman.
