  • Miller, on the run! Literally...

  • miller...ON THE RUN

  • lebron in disguise

  • lebron travelled

  • if i ran with the ball on top of my head the whole length of the floor it wouldnt be a travel because i dont have complete control of the ball. same story with this video.

  • nope not a travel he never had full posession of the ball..regardless if he did or not u cant be absolutely positively sure that he had posession specially in a split second call because he only has one hand on the ball and if he did he sold it well enough to the referees so that they woldnt call a traveling violation. never the less good veteran play by andre miller. so all u fags shut the fuck up! thank you.

  • both of them traveled

  • r people actually arguing this?

  • 4 steps. your NBA rules are just made of crap. FIBA is basketballs international governing body, it aint streetball you can only take 2 steps.

  • Nigga took 4 steps.

  • not a travel.

  • went from basket ball to football

  • In my opinion he is not traveling, i don't know. A player must have control of the ball to travel. For instance, a player who bobbles a pass may well take several steps legally—the traveling rule is not in effect until he has secured control of the ball.

  • when you can take that many steps without dribbling, you better be having a nice half

  • when you take loot at it, it really looked like lebron's crab dribble as he took like 100 quick steps! but when you disect this video he actually took only 3 steps which is legal since his 1st step was simultaneous with the time he got the ball in his hands

  • keep pressing 0 haha

  • MILLER ON THE RUN!...literally

  • 4 steps

  • It's legal in the NBA

  • i play basketball... and well just let me put it this way if i did what Andrew Miller did in a game, i'd get called for travel every single time

  • @Greatjobnoob Step-by-step (literally) explanation of why it isn't a travel: 1st step - landing/establishing pivot foot, 2nd step - gather step (allowed in NBA/when on the move), 3rd step - counts as his first step, 4th step - counts as his second step

  • @luobronjames

Let's compare your explanation with the NBA rules:

"d. If a player, with the ball in his possession, raises his pivot foot off the floor, he must PASS or SHOOT BEFORE his pivot foot returns to the floor." Therefore, in my opinion, the 3rd step (made by the pivot foot) is illegal since the player hadn't passed or shot the ball. I can't see clearly whether he catches the ball at the time of the 1st step (right foot) or just after that, but that would still make it one step too many.

  • @luobronjames He had 4 steps as you mentioned but he also had 2 unnecessasry ones (or more than that) (and it looks like he is running with a ball).

  • If you're just a spectator to the sport then STFU

  • If you play basketball you'll understand that it wasn't a travel and that it only counted as two steps

  • @luobronjames i play basketball my whole life i really want to hear ur theory on why this isnt a travel

  • @Pureblasta

Great, you played your entire life. Now what rule is the definition of traveling located? After all you played your entire life. LOL!!!

  • @Annarborborn i really want you to tell me how this isnt a travel i need a really good laugh lol

  • @Pureblasta

I am not going to tell you anything. You played remember. You should tell me why it is a travel. If you "played" then you should know which foot is the pivot foot and when he had possession of the ball. That is how you call a travel, not some fantasy that you played all your life can tell us.

  • @Annarborborn lol u cant tell me anything because u know it is a travel. k let me take the time to explain a travel is when u raise your pviot foot or take no more then 2 steps. In this video andre miller took 4 steps therefore he took over 2 steps. Also there is no way in basket ball are u able to take 4 steps without raising ur pivot foot. plain and simple the move was a travel. the officials missed it which was a shame

  • @Pureblasta

Ok, tell me what is the pivot foot? If you cannot tell me that, then please stop talking bout steps. The rules are based on the pivot foot, not steps. And the pivot foot is established when the ball in in control, not trying to control the ball. Tell me which one is the pivot foot and then we can talk about traveling. Something tells me you have no idea what that is. Keep talking about steps because that is not in the rulebook of basket. It certainly is not the case in NCAA and NF.

  • @Annarborborn As soon as he caught it he had control of it there was no bobble in between so his pivot was his right foot. So he took 3 steps and the maximum you have off the catch is 2.

  • @Handlez362

It is about the pivot foot, not the steps and when the pivot foot is established. The pivot foot cannot be lifted and put back down. So the claim of steps is a fan thing, not an official's thing. And the key in this play is when you judge that he had the ball. Touching the ball does not display control. And the amount of steps he took or did not take are really irrelevant.

  • @Annarborborn Are you by any chance Andre Miller or a 76ers fan?

  • @Handlez362

I am actually a basketball official that reads the rulebook.

  • @Pureblasta that's retarded you don't even know your rules. you think paid officials, one of whom are dedicated to watching the ball handler at all times, would miss such a massive travel (if it were truly a travel)? He established his triple threat position with the first two steps (as if he caught the ball on a jump stop) and then took two steps. You don't have to be stationary to catch the ball. He caught it on one step, came down with the second (triple threat) and then took 2 steps.

  • @SKip2mYSwAg First of all, you can't leave your pivot foot without dribbling. period. ...your 2 steps are allowed either on the catch (triple threat position...btw who calls it that anymore besides your local 60 yr old gym class teacher) or after a dribble was taken. You can't establish that position with 2 steps and then proceed to take 2 more?? the moment he takes more than 2 with the ball without dribbling (leaving his pivot foot) it's TRAVELING.

  • @SKip2mYSwAg SWEET now im just going to run around the court with the ball in one hand and be like i havent established my triple threat position. LOL actually think about what ur saying

  • Are ppl blind. He caught the ball with one cand (possession) and took 4 steps. Even Yao Ming can see that:P

  • Reggie Evans actually travelled after he stole the ball, Andre Miller did not

  • LOL, a lot of people don't know proper basketball rules. Not a travel at all

  • @luobronjames what?? you're allowed only two steps if you're in motion!

  • @440txi He only took two steps

  • @luobronjames 2? okay -_-...either im blind or he took four steps

  • @440txi two steps after he establishes possession

  • --anouncer 1 "on the run" ,,,anouncer 2 "literally"

  • that wasn't a travel it was a voyage

  • why bother to dribble the ball when you can just run with it?

  • he dribbled so fast that we can't even see in our own eyes. O.O..

that was more like JOIN ANDRE MILLER TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD!

  • That wasn't a travel...that was more like a Adventure.....

  • In the NBA you can take 4 steps

  • its not a travel it was four steps you can take two extra steps to jump into the pass and the two normal steps

  • that's like 6 steps

  • maybe because he wasn;t in full possesion ?

  • thats not traveling, THATS THE CRAB DRIBBLE

  • THATS NOT TRAVELLING, YOU CAN DO THAT WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE BALL YOU CAN TAKE 2 STEPS THEN ANOTHER 2 FOR A LAYUP AND ONE IN BETWEEN BECAUSE YOUR ON OFFENCE AND ANOTHER ONE FOR GOOD MEASURE.........LMAO

  • HOW THE FUCK DID HE MANAGE TO GET AWAY WITH THAT

  • Not a travel, his hand was over the ball in a dribbling motion, when your hand's on the top of the ball, and you're not palming it, it's a studder step.

  • flagrant travel

  • thats a big travel!!!

  • The person who tipped the pass. Travelled to He took 3 Steps... Then Andre Miller Travlled and took 4 Steps

  • @Fooza09 no only andre miller traveled dont say anything if you dont know what you are talking about

  • Pause at 0:04 and you'll see he takes 3 steps, left-right-left

  • No travel.

  • For those saying its perfectly legal... Try that in H.S and College and see if you ever make to an NBA floor. He got away with one. Period.

  • your guys are retarded your allowed a gather step this is perfectly legal stop hating retards

  • hes runnin from the cops

  • hahaha omg thats bad

  • i dont know,...tough call....

  • No doubt it is a travel. You see, sometimes there is no travelling for stars in NBA. Just to make it enjoyable

  • Footballl :)

  • He caught it at the three point line, lmao.

  • He took 5 full steps.

  • 8 steps??

  • Was a pop fly into the endzone!

  • next time pack ur bags when you travel that far.

  • Miller on the run!!......literally LOL

  • I don't know what's the fucking definition for a travel in the NBA, but they let those plays go saying that he was not in possession of the ball until they 'THINK' he is!

  • nah its because he didn't have complete possession of the ball that the refs didnt call it, i had to look at it a couple times but, yeah

  • @cunanan24 thats a horrible argument because if thats the case i would just bumble around with the ball down the court making it appear that i don't have possesion and then lay it in. the rule is vague and that's understandable, but to think that this play is acceptable is ignorant.

  • @djechoes23 ur a horrible argument

  • @azndude90 lol nice comeback priscilla

  • @cunanan24 ur cool. u have the same name as my friend

  • @azndude90 Hey i think i know you

  • thats ridiculous

  • Huh, another traveling call NOT called. What are the odds? :)

Maybe they should just go back to Naismith's original 13 rules, when dribbling wasn't even part of the game and ONE step was a violation. and i a player committed two fouls, he had to sit out until the next basket was made. Yep teams played short-handed/with man advantage like a penalty kill/power play in ice hockey, etc. Imagine KOBE, LEBRON standing on the sideline until the next basket, lol.

  • MILLER, ON THE RUN. literally

  • Lol that's ridiculous. If you played this video to a baby the first word he/she would say would be "travel", yet the referees didn't see it

  • @topografer do u think maybe they were thinkin he ddnt hav full possesion on all those steps im tryina giv the refs benefit of doubt lol n thas all i could cum up with lol

  • i counted 5 steps

  • Comment removed

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL THAT TRAVEL LOOKS HILARIOUS FOR SOME REASON.

  • HE RAN FASTER THAN A SLAVE

  • @xAmazin come on now

  • Looks like it might be three full steps, but remember the refs are watching this in real time. Traveling by definition in the NBA is listed as a two-count once the player has possession. So it would really depend on the ref and what is considered possession.

In this instance, possession was probably counted at what you would see at the 0:04 mark, and the ref only saw the two steps after that.

I'd be okay with this type of call, but what irks me is the pivot foot changes that r not called

  • lol, "God damn", at the start of the video

  • the guy who passed him also traveled, and lebron did it too

  • It Looks Like He Took 4 Steeps ? o.O

  • thats a texas six step

  • LEBRON TOUGHT HIM WELL

  • @donkeyman786 All of yall LeBron haters can stfu.. haha this was like 5 steps. and sometimes LeBron takes 3, just like Kobe

  • @KingJennings777 but not jordan

  • @KingJennings777 -.- sometimes?! really lol

  • @donkeyman786 apparently school teachers and parents didn't teach you well. it is taught.. not tought retard.

  • @jason0813 Speaking of school, there should be a comma after "apparently". Someone needs to revisit 3rd grade grammar class. If you're going to slam someone for their spelling, at least put together a proper sentence.

  • @donkeyman786 l2spell retard

  • @donkeyman786 School thought you well too ahha

  • @donkeyman786 learn to spell

  • @donkeyman786 LeBron never played with him you dumb fuck , if he did Andre would be an all star

  • @donkeyman786 Always a lame on youtube who thinks LeBron was the first person to travel

  • @donkeyman786 your teacher definitely didn't teach you well. because you just messed up the spelling of such an easy word. its "taught".

  • 活球

  • He took 12 steps like an alcoholic..

  • travel? naw he legit move to another state

  • Miller on the run, literally lol he did

  • he took 4 steps

  • He had luggage on that

  • that's not a travel in the nba, not being sarcastic. they changed the rule, now u can take three steps after touching the step u take first while touching the ball. if u play highschool ball, that would be considered a travel. in HS u can only take 2

  • @SJ13lover

you are 100% correct. all these fans who are bashing this as a travel are just proving how much they are "casual fans" only

  • @kmanthan Your saying it's not a travel?

  • welcome to the nba

  • The rulebook says that you have to have controll over the ball before you can be charged for a travel - having said that.... That is still a travel ;)

  • Silly @theANSWER4MVP, they don't call traveling in the NBA >:^/

  • referee had a hard time figuring out if he had full possession of the ball, or whether if was still trying to catch it.

    probably still a travel tho

  • Imagine what Jordan could do if he can use that many steps.

  • @NotoriousChief

Not only did he get away with crap like this, he was also allowed to shove opposing players out of his way.

  • Dude just made a business trip, that's all.

  • there are a lot of dumbass idiots on youtube uploading videos claiming travelling violation. But this one is indeed clear travelling. Good eye by the uploader.

  • he just ran a marathon !

  • lol travel

  • the 30! the 20! the 10! TOUCHDOWN ANDRE MILLER

  • Miller... on a run! And quite a run it was!

  • lol

  • 4 steps lmao

  • Oh yeah, , ,That was a travel

  • shit dude went back in time WTF!!!!!

  • lmao @ the beginning of the video & I quote "GODDAMN!"

  • commentator said it best: "on the run, literally"

  • the nba doesnt count steps until you have 2 hands on the ball

while this is a travel anywhere else, its not in the NBA

  • @kitchwatembo he took 4 step -_______-

  • @broski90 he did, but the refs only count 2 becuase he didnt have "control" of the ball for all 4 steps

its cheap but its a slick vet move

  • nope six steps is not a travel learn yo calls 7 steps is travel mofo!

  • first layup from the 3 point line ever

  • that was two travels in one

  • yes he took 6 steps

  • hey let's call every tick tack perimeter foul, whistle T's instantly for minor emotions, call a flagrant foul everytime someone hits the floor, but we'll let blatant violations of the most basic rules of our sport go unpunished. i love the nba, but the officiating is and always will be mind bogglingly horrible until they let a totally independent organization control the refs (kinda like how UFC refs/judges aren't employed by the UFC)

  • lmao this video fucks me up.. he looked like all of a sudden he turned into the road runner or speedy gonzalez

  • yeah having a nice traveling half right?

  • no i dont think that was a travel, he didnt have full possession of the ball. i could be wrong though

  • he packt his bags and went to denver..played ball had lunch and came back

  • Comment removed

  • I bet tim donaghy was refing this one

  • Thats not a travel!!! miller was just showing refs how he can palm the ball on fastbreak...

  • The refs were blinded by Reggie Evans' sexy ways.

  • @theloveboat

    a bit gay, but ok...

  • ctfu this shit is hilarious.. he looked like the Road Runner

  • theres no such thing as a fastbreak travel in the nba, as long as you look somewhat graceful you can take 5 or 6 if you'd like

  • No he just flying here.

  • Touchdown.

  • went around the world

  • not only Andre travelled but his teammate Reggie Evans did a double dribble.. lmfao

  • LOL

  • LMFAO

  • I guess if you run fast enough those 90 year old referees won't be able to tell.

  • travel,,,,

  • guys, 5 steps is legal now. i see lebron james doing it all the time!

  • 4 or 5 steps

  • lol that wasnt travelling, the man was doing the river dance
