u seem likr the kinda guy who sits out side watches your kid play then you show him and his frnds cool old stuff and they go "WOOOOOOOAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" and like geek out, aka an epic dad.
I remember how hard they were for me to get as a kid. I never got an allowance and everyone on the block had kids my age to mow their own lawn. So the only way to get them was to beg and plead my mom when we went to K-mart that was in a town 16 miles away or trade at least 2 really cool Hot Wheels cars for 1 Micro Machine from other kids. My mom once took me to this older kids house at 9p.m. because she found out that I had traded over 20 Matchbox cars for 5 Micro Machines. She didn't get it.
I used to make play sets out of cereal boxes and whatever cardboard I can get my hands on. The cars was okay, but when Micro Machines started to release jets and motorcycles I shat myself.
i wish i had more 1980s micro machiens... but i go have the construction vehicle that you dident grab twards the begining... why did micro machiens didssappear in 2008??? ;(
@rollydodie Yeah they bought galoob and micro machines. They stopped production and the remaining military micro machines where repainted into GI joe and sold for a very low price.
hah had the exact same one your holding in your hand at 1:35, lots of people used to bring in bags of there duplicates at school to trade, good times. Remember I had a few insiders too.
OMG! i'm too late i had one of those colour changing ones when i was younger but i never new what to do oh well. Nice Video! brought me back a lot of memories
I had some of these whn I was like four and five! I'm not much older know but I think I still have some of them. I had like some army trucks and a few others. I LOVED how small they were too.
Man, why do parents have to be stupid by NOT teaching there kids to stop swallowing small things and choking on them?! I grew up playing with these things as a kid and if I ever have a kid he'll never have the chance to play with these awesome toys unless I pay thousands of dollars!!! I hate stupid people...
Micro Machines classic. Everyone has had at least one micro machine. I had thousands of these things yet can never remember buying any or asking for any u just kind of attained these some how lol. Very cool tho.. btw im loving these nostalgic toy reviews really bringing back my childhood. Good work
Wow i loved micro machines! I didn,t remember how absolutly amazingly detailed they were! I also totaly forgot about the boats and play citys. Man this really is the best toy of all time in my opinion. A true artistic masterpiece as far as toys go! Thank you so much for posting, if you or anybody reading knows where i can buy them, please get back to me on this!
I use to have a set of micromachines in the early 90's. Those things were so much fun to play with. I sold them in the early 2000's. Not a toy collector at all. Great video John!
Its amazing how large and clumsy your hands have got from when you were a child and delicate with those same toys, full circle events indeed. Very nice review ! Also perfect you got the commercial in 16x9!!!
But I think it's one of those franchises where the video game version/s is far more famous than the original toy now :D
Bu I do remember this kid at school who used to go to America each year (he was a Jehovah's Witness and had this big even there each summer) game back with a HUGE grocery bag full of micro machines (the thing was packed with them) and someone at school nicked the lot. No idea how they managed it as the bag weighted a ton.
I have so many Micro Machines from back in the day. I also have a big van that unfolded and was a city. That was one of the main backdrops when I played as a kid. :]
Wowwww, I had totally forgot about micro-machines. I had the biggest collection going growing up. The ones I remember most were the ones that changed colour. I thought they were the coolest thing ever. Very cool. Thanks for posting this.
That Micro Machines guy also had the World Record for most words spoken per minute. My buddy and I were just talking about Micro Machines at work the other day.
I Had around 8-9 of the military micro machine play sets ... I remember one was a tower with a flash light on it that fired out missiles I looked it up and its called night attack... I wonder if I still have it
i bought a play set in the shape of a truck at a carboot. it cost £1.50 and came with around 40 cars. i think i still have it so i might make a video response.
this guy is the ultimate 90's kid
