@gohalogo97 That is Grendel from the story poem "Beowulf" The movie is pretty off on a lot of things though on what actually happened. Read the poem then watch the movie. you'll see the difference.
In the poem, Grendel wouldn't approach Hrothgar's throne, because it was protected by God. I'm pretty sure he also wouldn't throw a man at it, and if he didn't mean to hit the throne, he'd probably cower in fear of God once he realized he had.

Grendel attacked Heorot because they were singing about God, not because his ears were sensitive.
Beowulf didn't screw Grendel's mother. He killed her.
The dragon was angry because someone stole from its hoard, not because of some unclear vendetta.
