From the following analysis shows "the perfect plan and facade of the Cathedral", A1 to A4 is from the west gate to the east altar. A3 is the across of the plan. It is the original part and form several variations. Because it has a strong sense of line, or the time, or the equal space, which could refer to the first dimension. Due to the polyphony music, which could regard there is another dimension, refer to the horizontal space. The last is the different elements which refer to vertical space.
So I want to use the symbols to express the structure of the music. I suggest that the alphabets distinguish the subjects and others parts. 'm' refers the minor variations.
The Plan is divided into four parts; and there are two Transepts with the main hall come up with the Latin Cross. The main hall was also divided into six parts by the four rows of huge posts. Therefore the subject and variation, also the different subjects formed. While the spaces were not completely divided, instead they have their connection with others.
Study Bach's work should also study the theology, the philosophy, even the math. Bach's works belong to these. Like This piece of music major in G, has a perfect and complex structure, just like the structure of Cathedral. I wrote a paper in my university about the comparison the structure between the cathedral and some Bach's works. And I drew a Isometric of the Chartres Cathedral on a paper (Using the Plan and elevation). Some amazing things showed on the paper.
No one writes music like Bach...he is in a complete realm of his own. I love chopin, mozart, beethoven, lizst, debussy, vivaldi...etc. Flat out, no one touches him. His genius is so beyond its amazing he even existed at all. Every instrument talks to every other instrument in a dynamic web of sound and counterpoint. Its so godly.
Because my taste in classical musical is now more mature, more refined, only now I've began to listen to Bach: and boy am I glad I started with the interpretations of Karl Richter!
This is my favorite of the Brandenburg concerto's, I love the recorders especially, and the violins, it comes together beautifully. I could listen to this over and over and never get tired of it.
Ragazzi, che Maestri! Che potenza. Impossibile da trovare su strumenti d'epoca. Per questo oggi siamo particolarmente fortunati nel poterci godere incisioni come questa ma anche come quelle di Harnoncourt e Pinnock....
In all the history of music, no one stands taller than Bach. And he managed to find time to produce 20 children as well. WOW...... now that's amazing. *
And I tell you, when people are tired of and fed up with the currently dominant ideology they will return remorsefully to Richters approach of making music. Not to Richters style but to his understanding of music and performance.
@YevgeniyAlexey "the currently dominant ideology" I'm really curious what you mean by that. I so often notice that I prefer older classical records to cd's I buy nowadays. But what is the diference, can you explain?
Maybe an old recording, but still very good in its own way

I am in awe every time I hear (or especially watch) Karl Richter and the Münchener Bach Orchester play.
It is lush, rich and red-blooded Bach!
