Yea it was,

alll i heard around here was they were bad and had tranny and clutch problem's from people that were ignorant of how to drive them.

I like the 86 series nice cabs nice engine's nice looking.

Damn nice tractor, killer sound, I learned to "drive" on a farmall super A, love the sound of the late 70's to 80's IH and Deere diesel's that was power, the new stuff sounds like diesel Prius's, lol

We had a 1586 w/o FWA and a 1086. The one thing about the 1586 was it seemed like in the spring running the field cultivator or in the fall with the chisel, you would find that you had the power, but couldn't keep it cool.

The V8's were the 1468 and 1568, they were basically the 66 series but with an international bus engine. the 1468 came out first, then the 1568 (not much difference between the two, other than age).

u can tell its a 4wd, look at the drive shaft for front wheel assist under the frame, thats not there for 2wd

this tractor looks pretty short, compared to the European equivalent with the DT402 engine, the 1455...

Does it just look so because the tractor is so high, or is it really a short wheelbase ?

I've never seen a 1586 with front tire assist but thats the coolest lookin ih i've ever seen.. we have an 806 trike with a cab and i've never seen a pic like ours any where

1586 MFD  Round here in West ,Tn those are rare most 66 & 86 series are 2wd models round here

Classic Tractor's those IH 1568 models,.they had a high level of operator's comfort for the time.

Now most of the tractor's seem to look the same with that euro type shape.
