I have watched all of your progress and must say you have done an outstanding job explaining everything. I have learned so much in two nights I can't wait to build one from scratch. I look forward to the next installments. It's a slow and tedious job but don't get discouraged. I am rebuilding a house ( replacing alot of rotten wood ) and am improving it as I go.
Thankyou. I'm glad people are getting something out of it. I love doing this in my spare time. I have to do real work in spurts as I am doing now but will be back on it in a week.
So much work to do! I suppose that the job doesn't look daunting if one has the proper tools for the work and one knows where materials can be had. I look at the rotting wood and, if it were me, would give up. }:-}
Well it's really not as much work as it looks. After all you only see 8 or 10 minutes of it going on at a time. And not all trailers need this much work. Most don't. I chose this one for the series because it had so much to do. It makes for a great classroom project. If the trailer were in perfect shape, there would be nothing to show on video now would there?
They leak... And why bother when you can just bring a really nice tent with you? If you are going to trailer something you might as well trailer a trailer... one that doesn't leak after 5 years. These should be re-sealed about every ten years and they would last forever...
AMEN TO THAT!!!!!! pop ups suck!! esp. on them hot summer days, when you have to set it up..... then tear it down, and if it rains, and you pack it up wet, then when you get home you have to set it up again to dry out so it does not mold......... go with a trailer I DID!!! and even though we have not gone yet, I love it so much better!!! : )
There is a Coleman "pop-up" trailer here at the ranch. I don't see the attraction, but I suppose there is a market for them. Sleeping in the back of a pickup work just as well.
