  • Beautiful lyrics to this song sung by the master vocalist of a country song, that is Gene Watson,

  • This is great, he certainly deserves to inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He is overdue, long overdue.

  • Why is this beautiful voice not in the country music hall of fame What a shame .

  • Hi Pete, you still around? I know Bill played steel for Gene, but don't know what you played? bass, lead guitar? Or steel too? :)) Checking up on all the past history for our new forum / chat room for Gene Watson

Love Someone's Child, but it is a teary one. Great post thanks, Sharon

  • Beautiful song with poignant lyrics.

  • This is a great song by Gene. He is the Golden Guy of country , I love all his songs. Margaret (Scotland)

  • Gene Watson is the Ultimate entertainer. Never sang a bad song!

  • You got that right!!!

  • The name of the song is..Someone"s Child.

  • this song is great whats the name of it?

  • gene rules supreme

  • Can anyone tell me the name of this song ?

  • I saw him and Merle Haggard in Branson in June 2009, and I will tell you, Gene hasn't lost a bit of his voice and showmanship since I saw him in San Jose, CA in about '78 or '79. He is one of a kind.

  • This song breaks me up everytime. I don't know how Gene manages to get through this one. I suppose he is just great. Thank you for posting this lovely song.

  • this song makes me cry. what an awesome song. i love gene. been a fan all my life. the singers singer is the best i know how to say it.

  • God I love Gene, but I don' t love the context of this song. Sorry. Too hard for me at this time. Please understand and forgive.

  • Another beautiful song..... and the story line...... just beautiful. Thanks Mark for sharing this one.

  • his voice is always a pleasure to listen to.

  • what a beautiful song tks for posting I enjoyed it

  • As time goes by I appreciate more and more having had the privilege of watching and listening to Gene at Renfro Valley Entertainment Center here in Kentucky back in August. He was wonderful, as I knew he would be. He laughed a lot and did his hits -of course. His voice is perfect and his style and his charm are the best. Thank you again Pete for this video. - Paula

  • Mark you never cease to amaze me with the beautiful songs that you share with me..!! You see right thru my heart !!

    Thank you Sweet man.

    More Hugs from GA....J*

  • Simply beautiful - both the song and the man. The older he gets, the better! - Gini

  • Gene is wiping tears from his eyes as he walks offstage. How poignant.

  • excuse me Gene is very much a man , this little song would not make him weep, His make up ran into his eyes and that is all

  • Gene DID cry while walking offstage. It has to do with what happened to his baby brother. And what makes you think that real men don't cry? It happens all the time.

  • Yes REAL men do cry. Some times it don't take much for the tears to fall.

After all they have emotions to.

  • @ramey58 WOW Mark this is really BEAUTIFUL!! As A Woman, when a man cry,

it just means he has a BEAUTIFUL HEART thats all!!

    GOOD MEN DO CRY!!

  • Fine song, thank sor sharing ramey58

  • Gene has to be one of the best Country singers ever. Such feeling in his voice.

  • The world stops when he sings? Well, it does for me

  • Thanks ramey for the link, this man has the best voice in country music and I agree with olctrymtnman, we need that video of Farewell Party back on you tube, it was the best video ever, i watched it every day, I read genewatsonfan comments on another web site (cmt)and he was very dispirited about the whole thing

  • A great song that is sung by the GREATEST- Thanks Mark-

    Mitzi

  • Thanks so much for the link cheers !australianfan

  • hello Australianfan Nice to hear that you enjoy Gene Watson in Australia. I live in Scotland & he is very big over here. We all love him singing. Has he been to your country? Margaret

  • Gene hasn"t visited Australia as far as I know, but then I have only just discovered this beautiful singer in the last four years , so perhaps he has in the past

  • Gene has such a super voice & this song is so lovely but sad. Thankyou ramey58 for sending me the video.5*****. - geena.

  • great song love Gene, does anyone know if he is still married and has any children

  • Mr. Gene Watson can make a grown man cry with this song! OMG! This song gets me angry just knowing that today, AMERICA is in a crisis! Thousands of jobs have been lost and hundreds more will be gone in the coming months. Many will lose their homes, family and livlihood! The story of this song might come true for me! I grew up believing AMERICA was the greatest country in the world. Now, a decent hard working man can't get a job to support his family!

  • I cannot get enough of Gene Watson either.

What a beautiful singer and always so consistent. He always sings a song like it is his first time. I love him to death and would love to see him in person again.

  • Now this is a song that pulls at the heart strings and waters the eyes. It's another to include in my favorites. I do miss being able to see the " Farewell Party " video which genewatsonfan2 had posted - my memory suggests the viewings tally was well over the million mark?

  • Yes, this is a later song. Gene's not dead yet. I saw him at the Stagecoach Ballrooom on 12-6-2008 and he was better than ever. I think he is 66 but still sounds great. Mark

  • Another Gene classic, thanks!

  • i love him i would really like to meet him one of the best take care Gene

  • one of the best, and saddest songs out there by gene, no matter what the song , its amazing by gene.

  • I love to hear this emcee say Gene is "the singer's singer". He sure is. This is another tearjerker but Gene does it so well. He has the kind of voice you never tire of and he must really put on a heck of a concert with all the great songs he's sung. Thank you for posting this and it's so wonderful to be able to see and hear Gene - next best to getting to see him in person. - Paula

  • I think you're turning into a Gene Watson fan Paula. But, then again, any true music afficionado can appreciate this kind of rare talent, no matter the genre. Hope you are doing well. Take care. Mark

  • Mark, I have become a big Gene Watson fan all over again enjoying all the great videos we are privileged to enjoy like this one here. He is a rare talent to be sure. It seems I first saw him on one of the shows of yesteryear - maybe "Hee Haw" or one of the other popular country shows. I get "Farewell Party" in my head and can't get over it. Thanks again Pete for posting this. - Paula

  • It's hard, yes, but this song reminds me that the person needing help had a mother who loved him and may have lost her.

  • I cant get enogh of gene watsons great voice and music expecaly this song someones child

  • I can't listen to this one without tears starting to flow - and I don't cry that easily. Gene is the best ever; always has been and always will be. I will never tire of his songs.

  • I didn't mean to make you cry, but it is that kind of song. The music, sentiment and, of course, the vocals are just so beautiful I wanted to share it with you. Mark.

  • Thanks for this great post!

  • What a beautifully true song. So many of us take others opinions to "just ignore those people" "don't give them any money" as a hard and fast rule...forgetting the fact that those are just opinions!

  • Oh my!Thank You!Bless you for sharing such a great clip!

  • Thank you Mark this is just great just my kind of music i love it .Elizabeth.

  • That is one singing fool

  • What a beautiful song and who to do it better than Gene Watson? A star in my heart forever!

  • Thanks Ramey58 for recommending this video, I have this on my IPod, in my opionin one of Gene's best but not that well known, but it ought to be

  • I agree, Pat. The part at the very end when he cries while walking offstage is especially moving. Glad you liked it. Mark
