Lord One Of My Favor Back in The Day. Wow I Still Have The Studio Test Press To This Song. And The Other Side When We All Get to Heaven. Was Produced By: John Daniels. What Memories
I'm from Alabama but I used to go to Cincinnati every summer when school was out from about 1973 until I graduated in 1982. I always looked forward to visiting Lincoln Heights MB Church and hearing Charles Fold each Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. I also remember James Cleveland visiting and sitting in on a choir rehearsal. My life was truly blessed and touched by these to great artists--and also blessed by Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
omg! The James Cleveland Chorus sang this song during the communion and consecration services at the GMWA convention in Cincinnati Ohio last year (2009) and really blessed the services!
If you don't feel the Holy Ghost in this song you are not of God! this is powerful all fell short of the Gory of God and this song is a Redeaming song
This song is so powerful..The Lord moved during this song..No twisting, turning or squatting, or entertainment..It was about the message..Im still trying to figure out what happened to gospel music..
i really miss these old songs by these great singers, i would like to hear jesus my captain by charles fold if you have it will you put it on this page as well thank you sooooooooo much elaine
Listening to this Spirit-inspired music is really an experience. I mean...you can actually feel the presence of the LORD...although this video is nearly 20 years ago. Man, its my prayer that all these "legendary" instruments of praise are acceptable in God's sight. Their songs of praise were and are so magnificent. They seemed to understand and exemplify something so special and so sacred in their art form, that is often missing in today's Gospel genre.
The convention changed alot when Cleveland and some of the other "Key" people went on home. Charles Fold's music is some of the best representation of what classic Gospel is meant to be. This music carried us over some rough times. God Bless you all!

I declare, most of James Cleveland's BEST work was with the Charles Fold singers! I used to love listening to those records from them my mom had....as a kid mind you!
I just came back from Workshop and it ain't the same without Charles Folds. He played an important in the music department. He was a great pillar in that organization and was forever loved and truly missed.
It seems plain old organization died with Charles. None of the planned programs were set in stone. Charles would coordinate things beautifully. I miss him a lot and what he was doing behind the scene. The ones who are in charge really don't have a clue what they are suppose to be doing.
We miss you Dr.Fold...and other CFS who have gone on..John Farley,Christine Gregory,Brenda Etheridge,Allen Williams,Pat Whitfield,Marlene,Gary,Fannie Porter,Victor just to name a few.
When did Charles die because he was on the Gospel Legends CD/DVD that was done about 4 years ago but I never heard of him being sick or passing since then???
***The first time I saw the Fold singers was in 1978 at the GMWA in DC, I was 15 yrs old. The announcer introduced the choir and they brought Rosetta Davis to the mic. The people were shouting before she sang one word. She opened her mouth and sang "there's gonna be a FIRE", and the place just went crazy..I will never forget that night.***
This is wonderful being touch by the hand of Jesus!!!!!! what a great song recorded by Rev. James Cleveland and the Charles Fold Singers. Thank you for posting this video it was a real blessing!!!!!!
