The roof vent he used is the improper roof vent. It should be a 6 inch "Goosneck" or "J Vent" style roof vent equipt with a backdraft damper flap and no screen. This allows the air to flow freely and the backdraft damper flap prevents pests! The booster fan in this video is by Fantech and should be cleaned frequently or else it will become a clog itself! This roof vent in this video does not allow enought air to terminate and will clog quickly. Just trying to help the public

@wl03bu This is why I always recomend a Professional to clean the dryer vent. We have specially made tools that costs hundereds of dollars. Ive encountered so many people trying to do this on their own and making the problem worse! Ive found plumbers snakes, Chaulk lines, vents blown apart from lawn blowers. If you going to do it yourself you have to have the right tools!
Danny I realize your a home pro & I watch you on DIY all the time BUT that is the dumbest looking outfit I have ever seen it is taking up all that room right in the midle of the atic why not cut it out the side off the house behind the dryer?

My dad was using a telescopic rod to clean the vent today.
The rod is now stuck in the vent :-(

The dryer in this house was vented through the attic since the laundry room was located in the center of the house without access to an outside wall.
