  • Few things feel quite as satisfying as smacking Vesir with a table!

  • i chose the paragon option and it sounded more renegade then paragon LOL i still loved it cause it was badass and i never did like the council......then again...i dont like anyone who makes more then me...

  • What is it with Spectres and being evil? Saren was working for the Reapers and Vasir worked for the Shadow Broker. Shep must be the only non-evil one around.

  • @lastxwriter Spectres aren't supposed to be good or evil. Vasir is actually a perfect example of what a Spectre is. They do things that they may not like, but they're saving lives and protecting the galaxy by doing so. Even if it means working for the shadow broker.

  • @Valkus +1

  • Jennifer Hale is so good at being a badass. ^_^

  • Thanks for the video. If I can't do the blue paragon option, I've wounded the hostage. I never dropped my weapon.

  • your lips are huge!

  • Bitch, I just killed 300,000 Batarians in the blink of an eye. YOU THINK I'll HESITATE?

  • God FemShep has no emmotion what so ever. JC

  • How does the table not hit the hostage?!

  • This Femsheps face reminds me of the female Dwarves from DA:O.

  • The table is my favorite weapon.

  • NOW LIARA!!!!

  • The table hit never gets old.

  • @fluffyzhangfei Technically 3 out of 4 of those you can do. You shoot through the hostage to get to Vasir and if you romanced Liara in ME 1, you get to bang her even if you've already got another LI lined up.

Now, if you meant shoot them dead then I'm just being a technical ass. kekeke.

  • Shepard: "You girls should stick to dancing, you know, play to your strengths."

Liara: *glances at her* "Yeah I'm just gonna pretend I didn't hear that -_-."

  • The thing that gets me is the Paragon option is MORE badass than the Renegade one. It's supposed to be the other way around. :S

  • Quip about dancing, Table gets thrown.

I see what you did there.

  • 1:50 i swear i heard vasir say TIMMY!!!

  • @ARavingLooony OH GOD YES! xD

  • @ARavingLooony You git! Now I'll never be able to take this scene seriously again.

  • am i th only one who noticed all specteres are assholes apart frm nihlus start of me1

  • @ARavingLooony Samara almost killed Nihus when he murdered an innocent, all of them assholes. )))

  • How much paragon/renegade is required for these options? I have a Shepard created through the Genesis DLC, and have 100% paragon; yet I still can't get the paragon dialogue :/

  • @MarineMonkeys No idea. If you've got a save that takes place a few missions earlier, you may be able to increase your chances (depending on how paragon/renegade you had been during said missions). Also try slapping on the death mask or re-speccing Shepard for a 100% renegade/paragon boost instead of 70% if you haven't.

  • MarineMonkeys at what point did you do the Shadowbroker DLC? I did all missions and upgraded everything before I went in to the mission (paranoia forced me to do so.) So my Paragon meter was maxed. And that was without the transfer save.

  • @GhostlyMaiden where do you get the death mask again?

  • @jakcloudhighwind Tuchanka Shop.

  • @MarineMonkeys Even if you have the bar full, you still gettin points, i mean, there's no limit of paragon/renegade points.

For example, if you edit your savegame, you could put 2900 P/R points and you will have the bar full, play a little bit, do more P/R things, check your Savegame again and you will see.

  • @MarineMonkeys The system in ME2 goes by a percentage scale of how many points you have per how many possible points you can get. In other words, if you want the high-level paragon convo options, then you have to go paragon from the start, vice versa for renegade. I play through as much of the game as possible before doing things like DLC and Tali's loyalty mission, etc, just to make sure I have as much paragon/renegade as I can before moving on. Talk to everyone on the Normandy!

  • @MarineMonkeys A lot of the Paragon/Renegade options in ME2 are next to impossible without having played ME1 and got the Paragon bonus for that (which doesn't come with the Genesis DLC).

  • Damn, that last pistol line would fit in CSI Miami quite well.

  • Anyone else think the Paragon threat sounds more threatening than Renegade here?

  • God am I the only one thinking your Male Shepard looks Boss?

  • I personally like the thermal clip dropping one because it changes the boss fight having to scrounge them up before you can fight back makes it harder.

  • OMFG I was freakin laughin my azz off for like 15 minutes when ur Shepard said she'd live, now I've got a reason to replay Mass Effect 2 and try this scene over again :P

  • I guess everyone turns their shields off for cutscenes...

  • storm trooper effect lol

  • *puts on sunglasses* you'll live

  • Thanks for uploading this, although I have to say I think your Femshep looks like something from Jim Henson's workshop.

    "Drop Thermal clips? Moi?"

  • shepard seems really badass in this scene is it just me or do you guys think that too?

  • I have to say, that Paragon option on the left is sooooo epic.

    And the dancing thing? lol

FemShep > MaleShep, in terms of voice acting.

  • @donaloc9876 Her voice is too hushed and hissy sounding. Drives me insane. I prefer MaleShep anyday.

  • @MrJ567isback thats why i can't stand her

  • @MrJ567isback I know I don't why everyone hates on the Male Shep VA it doesn't express too much emotion and isn't always hushed and hissed. The change of emotion in the VA is noticeable so I don't get people saying it was monotone. And in a tense conflict you can clearly hear the emotion.

  • @donaloc9876 Ugh, seriously? Why is it always about the voice acting with FemShep fans? You can't go one goddamn video without seeing a comment about it.

  • @xaviagrade Inferiority complex, I think. They can't get over the fact that femshep is nothing but a spinoff, and that JOHN Shepard is the face of the Mass Effect series.

  • That's bullshit! I want to be able to retreat Charge!

  • I think Shepherd's cutscene pistol of death is much better than Dragon Age's cutscene kitchen knife of doom

  • Bitch you think i care about the hostage

  • Must have taken some time. Nice work.

  • why does the shep in the last one say "i WAS a spectre too"? whats the difference in what you did to show when the shep IS or WAS?

  • @iamsoooosweet2468 Early in the game Anderson will send a message asking you to meet with the Council. There you can have your Spectre status reinstated unless you chose Udina for councillor and destroyed the Destiny Ascension. You can also choose not to have it reinstated when asked and I think if you skip this meeting altogether you won't have Spectre status.

  • @GhostlyMaiden is there ANY difference if you choose to be a spectre or not....beside the conversation change?

  • @ramjet94 You can use your status to get a discount at Citadel Souvenirs without charm or intimidate. In one of the sidequests where two asari are trying to get a shuttle off the Citadel, you can use your spectre status to convince the woman at the desk that they are not geth. Other than that, I think there's nothing more than minor dialogue changes throughout the game.

  • @GhostlyMaiden

    until ME3 maybe

  • @GhostlyMaiden yeah but there will definitely be major changes in the third game based on that

  • @GhostlyMaiden Becoming a Spectre might have some chances during Mass Effect 3 though. You might get additional things from the council or be able to do things in ME3

  • @GhostlyMaiden there's also the scene where the voulus acusses the qurian of stealing his creditchit. And at the end you can threaten the c-sec officer and he says how bout i run you in for ubstruction of justice. And shepard replies your going to run in a spectre,

  • @GhostlyMaiden You can also intimidate Elias Kelham into giving you information on Kolyat by putting a gun to his head.

  • @ramjet94 it might have an impact on ME3 too

  • @ramjet94 It's also confirmed that having your spectre status reinstated will affect your character in Mass Effect 3.

  • @GhostlyMaiden I got my Spectre status reinstated but he still said: Was

  • Shepard has botox lips :)

  • @Xgamefreak079167 The renegade option just insults her and provokes her. The paragon option is more intimidating.

  • @Xgamefreak079167 lol you said it; i find that when you get discounts on the citidal; the paragon as a whole is just plain renegade

  • Regarding the (rather immature on the part of my gender in general) debate over MShep VS FShep... I like both, relatively equally. I do however find that Hale does better Renegade lines and Meer is the better Paragon actor.

My Mass Effect games so far are about 50% either gender, if that helps.

  • tip: ALWAYS reclaim your Specter status! It just sounds so much better to say i AM a Specter than having to say i WAS a specter!

  • @Xgamefreak079167 had to have one badass phrase without a douchebag option come on

  • Lair of the Shadow Broker is the best DLC for Mass Effect 2.

  • Shepard: You're forgetting something... I'm a specter too... *shoots hostage*

    Liara: What are you doing!?

Shepard: I was trying to curve the bullet! You know, like in the movie Wanted!

  • @XboxAnnihilator Liara: "Haven´t you watched Myth Busters??"

  • @OneWingedAngel50 Femela Shepard voice acting is weird, it looks like she is always in a casual conversation... And you can't really take her seriously when she is angry... Male Shepard voice acting fits the character better in my opinion.

  • @GhostlyMaiden Fair enough, but my actual question was why does EVERYONE play as fem Shepard? Look up on youtube, 70% of the videos you will are played with a female Shepard

  • @ComrnanderShepard Well, if you want to be technical, they don't. About 80% of Shepards played in Mass Effect 2 are male. That of course is everybody who is connected online so BioWare can get their data. I suppose the real question would be why do most people who upload Mass Effect videos on YouTube play female Shepard? No idea. I gave my reasons, and that's all the effort I'm gonna put into answering that question.

  • @GhostlyMaiden the dialouge are more instresting as a female; sometimes it's just plain sexist jokes; if you can catch it

  • @ComrnanderShepard TESTOSTERONE

  • Oh C'mon, why does everyone play as Female Shepard? The voice acting ain't even that great...

  • @ComrnanderShepard

    (1.) I am a girl.

(2.) Girls are better to look at.

(3.) Only girls can romance Garrus. (Guys get Tali though...)

(4.) I only care about VAs if they have a sexy accent (neither Shep does).

Technically, I have 5 female Sheps and 4 male Sheps (1 for every romance).

  • @GhostlyMaiden What? Both Sheps have sexy voices!

  • @iOnlySignIn Meh. I find their voices to be very plain. Though FemShep's Intimidate resolution to Tali's LM had been an eargasm. There's a line from Jack's romance that made me go squee as well for MShep. They have their moments but their voices aren't all encompassing sexy to me.

  • @GhostlyMaiden Vasir has a better voice than either Shepard ever will.

  • @GhostlyMaiden FUCK TAILI! LIARA FTW!!!

  • @GhostlyMaiden YEAH GIRL POWAH!!! :P

  • @ComrnanderShepard Fem shepard Voice acting is WAAY BETTER than male sheps

  • @ComrnanderShepard BLASPHEMOUS!!!! Jennifer Hale is AWESOME.

Mark Meer is terrible, plain, and emotionless, the only voice-tone in wich he doesn't sound like a robot is when he's angry, whereas Jennifer Hale injects real emotion into her voice-acting.

Plus the whole gun-totting macho soldier action hero is REALLY getting old. Action Girls are a refreshing sight to behold.

  • @Shakduhn Mark Meer does show emotion on his voice acting. It's just more subtle sometimes (And others you can really notice anger or kindness). And Jennifer Hale's problem, in my opinion, is that she sounds to emotional. She puts too much emphasis in her emotions that it sounds like she is having a normal conversation with an old friend everytime.

  • @Shakduhn But he's not being "Macho" he's being a professional soldier, or at least Paragon male Shepard is, and I prefer that. see Gears of War's Marcus Fenix for a real example of "Macho"

  • @ComrnanderShepard No matter what you do with the Male Shepard, the face ends up looking ridiculous, the only half-way human one I ever made was basically Captain Picard with a broken nose and a stupid accent (ME1 imported to 2). The Female Shepard's look relatively normal, even I can make a looker with the options available. Also, the Renegade FemShep VA is awesome, with MaleShep it just sounds the same as he always does. The only good part about MaleShep is doing Tali and Bioware ruined that.

  • @randomface54 Here's why Male Shepard looks ridiculous: He is a man. You know, we men tend to not look good.

Also, as I said before, I think that Female Shepard overall VA is quite annoying. She puts too much emphasis on her emotions. Nobody talks like that.

And how can you say Male Shepard always sound the same? Just because he talks the normal way most of the times, like we all do (except when he is mad), that means Mark Meer is a bad VA?

  • @ComrnanderShepard First point, not being gay I agree that women look better.

Second point, I think that the emotion in the VA works quite well, in a tense hostage situation, people do get emotional due to adrenaline, so a high emotional state is to be expected, even from trained soldiers.

Third point, one of the main skills actors need is to express emotion, especially with VAs, MaleShep' just didn't show the emotion of the scene as well as FemShep. I make no comment on the actor's talent.

  • @randomface54 Well, I think that exagerated emotions are good in an audio novel, where you can't see the face and body language, but when you can see all the facial expressions and body language I belive the actor have more freedom to act casually, only giving emphasis to the emotions when needed. Pay attention to a conversation between you and friend, you will notice you won't show your emotions with every word your say, that's what I mean.

  • @ComrnanderShepard Granted, most conversations aren't very emotional, however, most conversations aren't being conducted be professional actors who need to convey the emotions to the 3rd party who controls what they say next, also, going back to an earlier point, most conversations aren't hostage negotiations where emotions will inevitably run much higher than everyday conversation due to the whole life or death thing.

  • @randomface54 Well, it's not like Mass Effect is a hostage negotiation game. And as I said before, the conversations in this game can be treated like any other due to the facial expressions and body language. We can notice when Shepard is satisfied just by his/her facial expression and so on.

  • @ComrnanderShepard I was using the example because it was the one used in the vid, though there're quite a few such scenarios in the game. Also, emotions through voice play just as big a role in conversation as facial expressions, MaleShep's lack of vocal emotion (relative) just don't sound "right" in the scene.

  • Interesting how whether or not your Spectre status is reinstated Shepard will say "I'm a Spectre too" or "I was a Spectre too." Props to BioWare for paying attention to the small details.

  • That is the ugliest Femshep I've seen.

  • i was almost max paragon and i had the both options down... Explain please,it is more about what u chose in the conversations than paragon/renegate score ?

  • @krisitak ME2 uses a ratio-based system this time around. The more often you choose paragon actions, the more likely you will be able to pass a charm and same goes for renegade. Take MaleShep from this vid who rolls Renegon, so he has 100 paragon and 50 renegade but is still unable to use the charm. So we slap the death mask on him for a bonus. Still not enough. So we choose "Mariana, I'm here to help" and those points finally unlock the charm.

In short, the "check" for this is very high.

  • what about the interrupt?

  • @Nizzemancer What interrupt? There's 3 interrupts when talking to Liara and a romance only interrupt. No interrupts during the hostage situation.

  • @GhostlyMaiden There was a renegade interrupt as she grabs the girl when I played it yesterday when I played through this part, only I chose to use the paragon charm option instead (was the only reason I looked up this vid because I wanted to see what that interrupt was) oh well...I played it on Xbox, maybe that's why?

  • @Nizzemancer I've just replayed this part to check and I don't see an interrupt anywhere. Plus it never shows up in this vid either. Either my game is glitched, there's other conditions that have to be met, or you're mistaken. The glitch is possible. I've heard there's a renegade interrupt if you deny Jack her files, but it never pops for me. I also play on Xbox 360.

  • table to the face!

  • "I was a spectre too." BANG

    Awesome =3

  • Comment removed

  • Maleshep SERIOUSLY needs a heavy austrian accent!

  • @TheColombianOne

    That or Russian.

  • why can she charge everywhere and vanguard shepard not?!

    That sux

  • which is more worse shooting the hostage or saying your pathetic for a renegade Shepard??

  • 2:47 I love when Shepard says that and then Liara rolls her eyes like oh shut up Shepard! hahaha

  • I enjoy talking shit about asari when Liara's right next to me.

  • @Sursion7 There's that similar situation on Tuchanka; making fun of the Quarians is funny if you've got Tali in your party...

  • How do I look like?Wait for the response they wish, my email is petrica_alex@yahoo.comLet me know your email address to send you coalesced from the game, I changed a lot since we fail to look like Legion, garrus, Thane and especially in this Krogan Grunt this video(me2 Krogan VS Shadow Broker ).I pray a lot.By the way if you give me an email on my email please write theme krogan Mass Effect 2 to identify him, because I get many emails and delete them without reading them.EXPECT ANSWERS.

  • Damn, Renegade Sheperd is a Fucking Badass "I WAS a Spectre Too!" xD

  • @Buchholz101 Because it hit Vasir, and she mitigated the impact. And maybe hostage get some broken bones but it hidden.

  • oh yeah nice video compilation...more of these and ME2 will be better and better

  • oh yeah, BTW, best looking male shepard ever

  • Vasir and Mariana both somehow survived Shepard's trademark Cutscene Pistol of Doom.

  • @Suzaku000 Anyone can use a gun, but not everyone can use biotics...

Seriously I would just like to see a cutscene like that.

  • @Suzaku000 well its not the warden and hawks butter knife of death from Dragon Age 1&2

  • @Suzaku000 They're lucky it wasn't the Throwing Knife from Dragon Age..

  • Why don't they ever show Shepard using biotics in cut scenes? Regardless of what class you choose, in the story Shepard is a biotic. Does anyone think it would be cool to see him/her use them during confrontations like this?

  • @crimsonkiller90 Because not all Shepards are biotic. how would it look if a soldier Shepard were to use Biotics during a cutscene but then have no biotic afterwards during gameplay?

  • I wanted to kill Mariana so much! Dam you Bioware my Weaker Shepherd wants complete global saturation!

  • so basically no matter what choice the hostage always gets saved.

  • @bostonianful Yep. Renegade FemShep was most disappointed.

  • @GhostlyMaiden you know when you confront the shadow broker and he basically soon talks about your squad mate that you have with you. could you make a vid about all the dialouge for every squad member?

  • @bostonianful Coruscant0 already did: watch?v=AePYwVjtpq4

  • @GhostlyMaiden Why? He kill Vasir, who cares about killing damn hostage? Renegade Shepard killed 10.000 people including Council, killed last Rachni queen, and sooner or later would destroy entire race of Collectors.

That's why he dont kill hostage. Too little victim for him\her.

  • @signer0001 I have 9 Shepards in the works. Only 1 is a sociopath and that's MY Renegade Fem Shep. She is probably the only Shepard of the 9 who'd have been willing to kill Mariana to get to Vasir. Even my Renegon Male wouldn't have been able to justify killing her. My ME1 Paragon/ME2 Renegade Switcher might have since he lost a few screws though... Each of my Shepards are individuals and they have reasons for what they say or do beyond "this nets me paragon" or "this nets me renegade".

  • @GhostlyMaiden well, blame bioware. Wheel-of-good-and-evil their idea.

  • @signer0001 Blame em for what? I said Renegade Fem was disappointed, not me. I just fill in the blanks with my own imagination when need be or I twist the situation into a different perspective, like Shepard is lying or putting on an act. It's an interesting challenge working within the constraints of a game to try and develop a character properly rather than just building a whole world and it's people from scratch. Heck, the wheel-of-good-and-evil is why I bought ME1.
