It's like LeSaMilano said; sometimes the head-scratching is what makes it fun. What is art? These pieces mean something to someone...am I missing something?
I went to college for art...I always struggled the most with modern art, but yet, seem to be most excited by it (perhaps the challenge of it is what I love). That lamp post installation is absolutely amazing. Great video Al. You really make good videos.
this makes me miss la. i loved going to the lacma. i'd love to see this as well. the streetlights were gorgeous! have you been to the moma in sf? i'm thinking judge would enjoy the architecture there.
Very cool Al. Just posing the question, "What makes something art?" is one of my favorite topics of discussion....after fan hair, is it a kite(?), and pears.
I love the streetlight installation. Being a former OrangeCounty/Angelino I appreciate antything 'old' that has been repurposed in LA instead of bulldozed forever. I also love modern art because of the head-scratching factor! I was bummed when you got to the part that said you couldn't film inside (but expected it)- haven't been to LACMA in years. Thanks for taking me to the new building!
Personally I think the streetlamps would have been much more interesting had they been arranged in a random pattern more like densley packed trees in a forest rather than in neat rows.
went here all the time

I wish that we had a museum with some modern exhibits here. I love sculpture and installation. You'd love our Ringling museum. Thanks for the video.

You and Judge got it-- It doesn't have to mean anything--art makes you 'feel'. "Pretty colors"--LOL

That many street lamps in one place - a hooker's dream.
Love Judge's wrap up! And Gabe is looking good these days.

I had the very same thought. Maybe because I had just watched a documentary about the Parthenon.
