In Iraq the situation is totally different. The Zulus did not ask the British to be conquered. The Zulus, an independent kingdom did not even invite the Brits to steal their land. Nevertheless the Brits pushed them back more and more, because they had their world empire interests and looked for the gold fields. It would be high time to enligthen the Brit. history from that ankle: political interests above moral interests.
how can anybody find a liking in this bloodshed? Couln`t they have smoked a pipe of peace instead and many mothers would have had a better time! I did not understand the message of the film.
@RomanNies Somebody would have to make some kind of film about the British empire in Africa, it's true that the blood shed is wrong but it happened and very few films are made from the British perspective. It still goes on in Iraq.
Probably watched this 50-100 times (I'm not joking) as a kid. Still watch it every year or so. Great Movie at least in my top 3. Michael Caine was a nobody actor when this film came out. Can you Imagine the movie without him now? My buddies and I would watch this, Gunga Din, and Where Eagles Dare on one of those old huge video tape players I think we had the only one on the block lmao.
