  • Empire of the sun

  • One of the greatest lullabies I have ever heard - hauntingly beautiful

  • google youtube-mp3, this does it.

    Dai iawn - lovely version

  • Hmm :/ I'm a guy going for vocals at mayfield. And at that part where she sings watch I keep, that's abit of a high note, idk if I'm capable of singing that high, but I won't give up

  • i have to sing this as my mayfield audition song!!! i love it! i hope i get it <3

  • bloody great love. I want it for my ringtone. How do I get it?

  • @trojanman682 - Thanks! :D I'm sorry I have no idea how to do the ringtone thingy ... let me know if you figure it out. :)

  • @trojanman682 Go onto google, and find one of those, youtube to mp3 converters, convert it, and then use your usb to paste the file onto your phones folders. :)

  • This Is My Favourite Song To Sing. You Have A Stunning Voice. It's Great To Hear Someone With That Good A Voice Singing In Welsh Instead Of Whatever Language It Is That They Sing Opera In. No-one Can Sing Quite As Good As Us Weshies :)

  • @crystalsingr

    You're welcome.

You have a lovely voice- thank you for sharing with us.

  • Good to hear a woman singing this; so much better than hearing some squeaky voiced little boy singing about holding his baby close and warm to his breast.

  • @littlesmew - you know, I hadn`t thought of it that way at all! Thank you for the great comment and perspective. :D

  • @littlesmew aw but you didn't like how his singing made the scene mean so much more? ;o He had no one to cling to and had to find anyone he could, even a man who considered only using others rather than holding someone close ;o ...

  • This is the first piece I wanted to learn to play on the guitar when I was in school in the Rhondda. I still find myself humming it when I am stuck on the bus

  • @MsWeatherwitch - before my family emmigtated to Canada, I lived near Llantrisant. Thank you for sharing your story with me. :)

  • beautiful just beatiful

  • beautiful!

  • it perfect for little chrildren i fall asleep to this everynight coz i cant live with out it and i am 13

  • So lovely a lullaby is not just for children at bedtime but it is for people of all ages - I am 73.

    Diolch yn fawr iawn...

  • So lovely a luulaby is not just for infants in a cradle but for all of us whatever our age - I am 73 and it is a great source of comfort and reassurance.

    Diolch yn fawr iawn...

  • absolutely fabulous~happy Saint Davids Day~Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant Hapus

  • @iamearthbornami - I wear my leek with pride!!

  • I love this song so much I'm singing it's tranlated english version in an upcoming competition it truly is a beautiful song and you really do justice to it.

  • Your voice is absolutely lovely! Superb job!!

  • Lovely rendition of an equally lovely lullaby. Thank you.

  • Very beautiful I loved your singing you are very talented, beautiful voice

  • Beautiful!!

  • Few singers can do this perfect song justice. You can. You're the best I have heard. Thanks for letting people hear it.

  • @Steeleperfect - wow, thank you so much, I'm thrilled that so many people are enjoying it. Merry Christmas/Happy Yule! =)

  • This. Is Perfect. Oh my God. I could listen to this all day. Truly beautiful. Thank you.

  • @ElvishNavi - thank you, I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone's support. :)

  • The best version I have heard. the only others ones that I want to hear (ones that are sung by a woman) all sing too fast or too slow, while the others that have the same pacing are sung by children.

This version is exactly what I'm looking for!

  • @reggiefive0 - I'm so glad that you connect with it that way. I hope to post something new soon. Thank you and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

  • I have Welsh blood. (:

    Beautifully sung! I love it!

    *Megan dances happily*

  • Lovely voice

  • Llais bendigedig. Diolch o galon. x

  • I'm in tears. Beautifully Sung!!!!

    Thank you.

  • @truthfullyours1 - I'm honoured that it moved you. Thank you so much for your kind words.

  • This is spectacular. Really, a voice perfectly fit for the song. A warm, rounded, motherly tone accompanied by linguistic perfection. The Welsh and English were brilliantly phrased. The singer clearly put a lot of time and effort into this piece. Thanks so much for sharing this recording!!!

  • @CantoSemper49 - It means so much to me that you think so. I am truly grateful for your support and your comments. :)

  • Beautifully sung! Brings tears to my eyes and just makes me miss my mother even more. Thank you for keeping her close to my heart.

  • This may be the most peaceful version I've ever heard. It's so pure and beautiful.

  • @Mamadant - thank you, I'm so pleased you feel that way. :)

  • Brilliant, especially the Welsh intro.

You obviously know the meaning of the words as you sing them.

On a par with Bryn Tervel's rendition.

Are you a professional singer? You should be!

You would be a big draw, here in Wales, singing the traditional Welsh songs like this one and "My little Welsh Home" etc.

    Diolch yn fawr.

I think you would have learnt that phrase as a child.

    Best regards.

  • @cymrodaiawn - thank you so much, I am honoured to be even remotely compared with Bryn's interpretation! I will look up "My Little Welsh Home" but there must be lots of Welsh singers doing that already!

    Ydych yn croesawu,

    Angela

  • whats the name of the singer? Thank you

  • @lifeson241 - My name is Angela, what's yours? ;)

  • Hardd iawn. Mae gen ti llais cryf a swynol iawn! Mae'n pleser cael clywed y gan yma yn cael ei ganu hefo acen Gymraeg! Wyt ti yn siarad Cymraeg? You can translate using: google translate! :)

  • @coolblu77 - Thank you very much, you couldn't have given me a nicer compliment. I used to speak Welsh, but when my family emigrated to Canada I didn't have anyone to practice with. I can still count and tell you to close the door, but that's all. I still remember how to pronounce most of it, but understanding? Not as much. Google cyfieithu yn beth gwych! Ddiolch ail.

  • @crystalsingr - You are welcome. Thank you for sharing with us. I am Welsh and I speak Welsh. But unfortunately we don't all sing in Wales! You are very lucky to have such a precious gift! I could just imagine you singing "Calon Lan" or "Arglwydd Dyma Fi"! Maybe you could try and contact a very famous Welsh singer called "Bryn Terfel" & ask if you could sing at the "Faenol Festival" in North Wales! Type the names I wrote in google and you can see for yourself! Cofia! Mae'r Can yn ei'n calonau!!!

  • absolutely beautiful

  • Reminds me of good times with my grandma , she loved this song, if only i could the lyrics i would sing it for her at her grave R.I.P mom

  • I chose to sing in Welsh for the first verse and English for the second to make it more "user-friendly" for the English-speaking audience. ;-) It is important to note that it isn't a literal translation. The lyrics you need are available online if you do a search.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Thats very nice. My grandfather is full blooded welsh and my ancestors came from Wales and settle land here in Iowa. Was in Swansea several years back and loved it. Of course my last name is Davis so I was welcomed with open arms :)

  • WOW amazing! this is my vocal exam peice, i wish i could sing like u!

  • Thanks Blazing, that was really sweet! Good luck on your exam. My only piece of advice....be sure to support the breath all the way to the end of the phrase. As you can hear in this version of mine, I was very nervous and I'd like a do-over lol, but we're all our own worst critics aren't we? Let me know how things work out for you ok and thanks again.
