the sound is partially justified by the sound simulation in the starting sequence. It probably picks up difference in light and transmits simulated audio to the suit wearer.

@myg0tpurepunk correction, Sound requires matter, sound can travel faster through water, since it is incompressable, the body is made up of mostly water, but the entire body is matter. it is through this medium that you can hear sounds. put some earplugs in and put some ear defenders on, i bet that if you were to kick your foot lightly against something, you'll "hear" the dull thump, NO dont kick hard!

@BigVernUK He says he has over 60 FPS all the time. A single HD5870 only runs the games between 30 - 60 FPS @ 1920 x 1080 8xAA Maxed Out. But I do understand what you mean. BTW i7 @ 3.5 GHz? I don't think the full potential of both cards is being used this way. You are better off OC'ing to 4.00 GHz!

But it runs Burnout Paradise, Mass Effect 2, Dead Space, L4D, HL2, KF, Oblivion, CoD 5 and CoD 6 MAXED and smoothly

And yes, by maxed I mean with AA8x

It also runs Shift maxed with AA 2X

the sound comes from the suit, it synthesizes it. You can power down your suit to not be detected, when you do that, you hear nothing but your heartbeat. Pretty cool.

For one he IS running the game at 1920x1200 normally with 8x, so yeah there is most def a point in crossfire.

Also you should see some benchmarks because even at lower resolutions, these cards do well in crossfire.

Second, those cards have a single chip/single core, its just Nvidia who (after seeing the marketing of Intel) suddenly throws arround having over 9000 cores while its still one chip/one core.

Im neither ATI or Nvidia, I just care about the speed.

Also, part of the reason this game is so demanding is because it has truly 3D maps. Most games have flat maps with a skybox - this game has giant 3D areas.
