  • RIDICULOUS!!! TOTALLY REDICULOUS!!!!

  • Come on now! Lets face it our country was founded on Christian faith. What are people afraid of, the the christians will eat them? I don't know about you people, but Christmas is a wonderful holiday and a season to reflect on how we serve our fellow man kind. Don't declare war on Christmas, declare war on people who don't want our country to be christian.

  • @hannancandy The United States was not founded on Christian Faith. Do yourself a favor and do some research, it's a very common misconception.

  • "I thought he had a sleigh," jesus christ he's ignorant

  • good! Keep christ out of christmas. and change the name back to saturnalia which christians stole anyways...

  • Alot of these dumb athiest liberals really want the old days of America back...a time when there wasn't a set religion.

But i must remind them...at that time, there were also no civil rights for minorities....

Be careful what you wish for.

  • @MarlboroKnightHawk I'm pretty sure that social advancement (shaking up or proposing changes to the current norms, for the greater representation of all people in a given society), is, by definition, not looking nostalgically backwards at a past time. And since when is there a "set" religion in the USA? There may be a majority (as of 2008 76%) of US residents identifying as Christian, but the US is a secular nation and there is still a large population who don't follow Christianity.

  • @codiechilds

My point was...if you want to change one aspect of American life back to the old days....all of it changes...not just what they feel should. In other words...whether they like it or not, Christianity has the most followers in the USA, if everyone wants to do their own thing, that's cool...but it shouldn't be against the rules to say a prayer in school...after all, the government forces you to be there in the first place.

  • @MarlboroKnightHawk Last I remember there was a Christian majority when there was slavery. Or how about the large growing evangelism in the 50's when blacks were seen as inferior and the white man was the light of the world. Religion is going away and civil rights are here to stay. Both are going to be a struggle though.

  • Ok wtf... Filing a law suit for violation of the 1st amendmant for censoring religion in the classroom?????? That's like filing a lawsuit for violation of the 13th amendmant for not allowing someone to have slaves.

  • "We did a fair and balanced thing there". How exactly? By claiming that he ruined Christmas? That's a pretty strong accusation. A "fair and balanced" approach would have been to ask the principal if he would like to explain his reasoning for banning all religious symbols.

  • Ruining Christmas is leaving religious symbols out of the gift room? Oh no! Those children's Christmas will be ruined forever!

  • I'm glad you live in the U,K also.

  • Do people seriously actually watch this shit?

Man, I'm glad I live in the UK, where we don't have to deal with bollocks like this.

"Why are you ruining Christmas?" Lmfao

  • @sherlockfan16 Don't watch this and think all Americans agree with this bull shit. I certainly do not.

  • @emlovesbeauty

    I never said they did.

I merely said that you don't get this kind of bullshit where I come from.

  • @sherlockfan16 i know! im just saying we aren't all crazy:)

  • Christmas doesn't have anything to do with Christianity. It started out as a Pagan celebration, before getting the Jesus brand all over it.

  • i celebrate christmas even though i know religion is load of shit

  • Bill, (i can't say this to the real bill, so i'll say it to a video of him) the seperation of church and state is there for a reason. Christmas is seen as a xchristian holiday and as such is kept out of state schools. Contrary to your belief Bill, christianity isn't something that takes priority over things just because there is a christian majority. Freedom of religion and seperation of church and stgate are in the constitution and if you don't like it then I suggest you move.

  • Fox News, please fire Bill. He has no idea what he's talking about. Ever. I've seriously watched the O'Reilly Factor a dozen times. Not even in a single one did he manage to make an intelligent comment.

  • School Bans Religious Symbols from Holiday Gift Room???? WHY does such a room even exist we send our children to learn about math, english, science and so on not to celebrate holidays and religions. KUDOS to the school principal.

  • "why are you trying to ruin Christmas for the children" You know...That seems like a loaded question to me.

  • State... Religion... Separate...

It is a message that apparently never got through to some of the modern Republicans. I am sure they can read, so what in God's name are you doing? Staring a crusade Bill O'Reilly?

  • lawsuit fails lol us constitution states religion to be seperate. since its a public school :D

  • Fox constantly trumps up the "war on Christmas", and the swastika comment is complete crap, give me video proof that someone said this or your just saying bullshit.

  • most of the time that the news talks about parents on the news the parents are always fucking stupid, almost as dumb as the fucking reporters

  • So brainwashing children with 'political correctness' (does that actually mean anything?) is bad, but brainwashing children with superstitious nonsense is cool, as long as it's the specific superstitious nonsense that O'Reilly believes in?

Christmas is a secular holiday anyway, and folk have been celebrating mid-winter for thousands of years.

  • The religious right is constantly trying to force their beliefs and celebrations on everyone. It's not the job of government provided schools to promote individual religions to our children. Their job is to teach facts. Go to your favorite church to celebrate whatever you believe, but don't expect taxpayers to provide a platform for you to indoctrinate the next generation.

  • "Diwali? What's Diwali?"

    "I have no idea."

    ...this is a news program?

  • Happy Solstice!!!

  • I think that Santa may be taking it too far. He is a secular symbol. If INRI was there then there would be a problem. I'm a secular humanist and I agree with the 1st amendment.

  • Candy canes and Santa Claus are fine, however, keeping PUBLIC (notice I put public in caps) schools and religion apart are a big deal and from there yes crosses and Stars of David and Crescent Moons should stay out of classrooms unless it is on the student (such as a necklace and a headscarf) and unless it is like a cultural studies classroom or something. But I do like the 2:08 argument and it is just about the only one that i do find merit in.

  • I love the way they almost seem proud of their ignorance and lack or knowledge of other religious festivals/holidays in the form of Diwali, I don't follow any religion, but even I know more of other people religious beliefs than these to brain dead numskulls. Very unbiased reporting as usual you foxy devils =)

  • mr. waters makes a good, journalistic, non-biased, objective introduction when he asks "excuse me, why are you trying to ruin christmas?"........this is bullshit.

  • Yeah, and what about the other people that aren't Christians.... when do they get to be recognized? I felt like an outcast whenever they did something at my school pertaining to Xmas.

It's better to keep holidays out of school.

  • i quote george carlin when he says "Something else I'm getting tired of in this country is all this stupid talk. I have to listen to about children. That's all you hear about anymore, children: "Help the children, save the children, protect the children." You know what I say? Fuck the children!"

  • i would have sent a shit load of stuff about satan

  • @uselessknowledge1 I agree. I feel sorry for the children of today's day and age.

  • Since I'm a far left liberal gay man, I find many things wrong with Fox News. This is NOT the case with this piece. Good job!

  • shlong dong

  • wow this is bais public school are not allowed to celebrate a single religion but they can say happy holidays this news cast only focuses on christmas not honicha or kwanza i hate fox news

  • I tell ya what every one gets to put a symbol up. I want a dead goat, chicken blood and a cross because that's my religion. Oh wait now THAT is offending Christians so it isn't allowed. As if a dead Jew hanging from a stick isn't ugly, and evil... fucking hypocrites.

  • Christians: "...why dont you let all the parents send in any religious items that they want?"

    -kid brings in Islamic symbol-

Christians: "hey now this isn't appropriate for school..."

Guarantee you something like that would happen...it's all fine when its Christianity thats getting special treatment, but the moment its another religion....ooooh nnnooooo.

  • you know what i like about christmas? presents. and being with the family. celebrate it or dont. because i'm gonna go home, and get presents. and be with the family. everyone needs to stop bitching its not a big deal.

  • Jeremiah 10 1 Hear what the LORD says to you, O house of Israel. 2 This is what the LORD says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. 3 For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. 4 They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.

  • @Rusvi1 Thanks

  • because you know just leave out the atheists, muslims, sihks?,pagens, buddhists and all the other religions as christianity is not left out

if you want your religious bullshit go to a fucking christian school

  • Brainwashing with political correctness?? How about brainwashing with religion??

If you want to teach your kids to believe in a god, fine. But there is no reason for it to be taught at a SCHOOL!! Do it at home!!!

  • @DemonZonkey Religion Is a reality. I has to be recognized.

  • @Mr4Jesus so is neo-nazism..

  • "We did a fair and balanced thing there" ... bollocks.. you took an non-story and spun it into "Why are you trying to ruin christmas??" .. Bill O'Reilly.. you are a twat.

  • I am an atheist and I would love to have candy cans in my school. I LOVE celebrating Christmas, it is a time to be with you family, to have a couple presents and to gain a couple pounds. I see nothing wrong with Christmas. In fact, Christmas wasn't even Christian in its origins, it was a holiday from the roman empire called Saturnalia.

  • Public schools in the USA can't be seen to proselityse. They're not allowed to. It's that simple!

  • "I think we're very intimidating" No, just annoying.

  • i cant believe ppl think this is a big deal

  • F ing hilarious. "We did the fair and Balanced thing there"

The reporter saying "Why are you ruining Christmas" is not exactly fair and balanced.

  • Why would anyone find Santa offensive? I met him last winter he lives in Rovanniemi...Fun guy.

  • Comment removed

  • What's Diwali? LOL, America.

  • I guess if you cant represent all the religions you shouldn't promote one either. The constitution prevents there to be an official religion, so what they are doing is basically more constitutional than if they promoted Christianity.

  • Fuck Christians. Fuck Bill. Fuck you.

  • i'm an atheist. Why the hell do they want Santa, frosty the snowman, and Rudolph the red nosed reindeer removed? They're not religious icons, they're icons of the season. Grow a thicker skin.

  • WTF do you want from them this is America and this is our traditions, you don't like it then LEAVE. Atheists are fucking degenerates.

  • God forbid that the schools would adhere to the constitution!

And if you hadn't noticed somehow, I was talking about the atheists in the video who were whining about Santa, Rudolph, and Frosty.

  • Comment removed

  • I was talking about you, you're a degenerate, the theory of evolution is right and apparently you didn't get the smart genes, no matter maybe God'll go easy on you but I doubt it.

  • How am I a degenerate again? I'm in college on a paramedic course. Last I checked, the news reports paramedics, firefighters, and suchlike as heroes.

When did the theory of evolution come into this? I was under the impression that this video was concerning the separation of church and state.

  • princepersia1

That's pretty rich coming from someone who is over 4 years of age and still talks to his imaginary friends.

My grandfather was a decorated WWII vet, including earning a Purple Heart. And he was an atheist. Atheists have exactly the same rights to live in the US as you do. If that makes you mad, leave.

You believe in a god that condoned rape, kidnapping, and genocide, a god who killed innocent babies. You have no fucking business calling anyone else a degenerate, psycho.

  • @princepersia1 you do know many of the founding fathers were deists right, if it is a "chrisitian nation" tell me than, why isn't jesus christ or christianity mentioned in either the declaration or constitution? in the declaration it is a creator and in the constitution they never specify either, so whois the creator? zeus? osiris? this natrion could be an islamic one under that notion, that's how VAGUE it is

  • I'm not religious at all.

And as much as I hate the thought, don't those children have the right to put up their religious 'symbols' in a classroom? I mean, it's not like they're breeching the rights of other secular children.

  • omg you cant buy ancient ideology at school anymore and parents are pissed.

50 years ago parents were pissed when the banned ciggarettes from the school gift shops too. get over it

  • What it comes down to is all it would take is one upset parent suing (because they disliked the religions) to bankrupt the school.

  • Atheists celebrate Christmas like everyone else, I know I do. Christmas has a very secular reason behind it. Claiming that Atheists can't celebrate Christmas is like claiming that Christians can't because almost every aspect of it is from Paganism.

It's a time where we share. Simple as that.

  • I get keeping religeon out of it... But what's wrong with Santa or candy canes?

  • Most Christians don't understand that pushing their agenda/dogma is unconstitutional by ANY county, state or federal government body. The gov is not allowed to endorse a particular religion, including public schools. I teach within the public system and am very aware of this trend to slide Christian dogma into our classrooms. This is not acceptable or lawful. Please talk to a lawyer who specializes in this stuff and realize how ignorant these 'News' people really are.

  • "Christians don't understand that pushing their agenda/dogma is unconstitutional"

Christmas and cristians have nothing to do with each other. Nowhere in the bible does it say jebus was born on dec 25th or that we are to celebrate his birth

  • greywolf

I know that, you know that, but most xtians don't. They are driven to have everyone follow the herd.

  • "What's Diwali?" Just goes to show how apt this man is for televisioin...besides, why bother, we're talking about the Lord Jesus Christ, why should he know about any other culture...*eyeroll*

  • If you want your kid to be exposed to religious decorations--------GO TO PRIVATE SCHOOL! Furthermore, school is a place for academics, leave the holidays at home.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa

Should we do away with sports then in school?

  • @coolst0rybro: Yes, unless it is a part of kinesiology.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa

umm ok so basically almost every sport is ok....chess players might be mad though...

ok lol I need more laughs... anyways I'm sure we can do away with fundraisers too am I right? No more selling candy bars? And are holidays such as memorial day and thanksgiving alright?

  • @coolst0rybro: Please, tell me which sport is a religion. also, tell me which sport has scripture that calls for the murder of others.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa

Wtf are you talking about, I was saying sports in general that question had nothing to do with religion? Your religion panic button went off I think, so here

I was responding to this "school is a place for academics, leave the holidays at home."

So once again should we do away with sports in schools, and fundraisers since school is a place for academics? and should Thanksgiving and Memorial day be taken off?

  • @coolst0rybro "should we do away with sports in schools, and fundraisers" well If you take out the sports and the religion wtf is the fundraiser for?

"Thanksgiving and Memorial day be taken off" It had nothing to do with taking the holiday off, it has to do with school activities based around the holiday. Thanksgiving and Memorial day are just american holidays. There is an aspect of Christmas that's a secular holiday as well(hence it being a national holiday) but that causes a grey area

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa Go ahead man, represent the devil. You go bro, real cool of you. And your 20 folowers. make that 19

  • @WhatsHappening783402 : Spoken like a true religious nut job.

p.s: there is no such thing as a "devil".

  • @WhatsHappening783402 represent the devil only 19? satanic bible has followers. pagans 2! :o

christmas for ppl is receiving a present from mommy and daddy you really think they give a fuck about jebus being born (bible states jesus himself said" celebrate thy death not thy birth" anyways christians are truly idiots. either kids study and learn facts or spend time learning religious junk pick cant have both

  • The lawsuit will fail because the parents are trying to invoke the 1st amendment. What they seem to avoid in this interview is that the Bill of Rights were set up to prevent tyranny of the majority. In this case, the 1st amendment will protect the parents rights not to have religious symbols in the school because they represent the minority.

  • 5 vs 2 yeah that's fair and balanced...lol Bill is a piece of shit

  • Why your argument falls apart:

Life moves from simple to more complex. So the most complex being ever, created the simplest being ever, sorry no. Also, even if evolution and the big bang are proven false, which is unlikely, you actually have to prove the existence of god first, then prove creationism. If evolution and big bang are wrong, creationism isn't right by default.

  • oh chist! stopit, quit your im being persecuted and stop being so p;icky over candy fukkin canes. trees n canes are fine just dont go preaching religion.

  • Atheist children?

Thats a scary thought for the world. Imagine asking a kid why they dont believei in God. That is a damn shame, and I think the world is coming to an end now. The time that children dont believe in God, is the time that the world should end. It seems like end times, with children not believing in God, it really seems that way. But, religion should be in school, of course nothing should be forced on anyone, but certain topics about religion should be in school. IMO....

  • Yes, I hate those atheist kids who are being taught to think logically and not be dependent on a magical being in the sky.

  • @thirdLeg

So, believing in God isnt thinking logically? The same way that atheist say they dont want others beliefs forced on them, they shouldnt force their beliefs on children, heh? Total hypocrisy, and nothing you can say can change that point. Thats why atheist are so confused, because they dont practice what they preach, but yet they have the nerve to tell religious people to practice what they reach and dont force their beliefs on others. But they are spewing their crap on children....

  • "But they are spewing their crap on children...."

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you're born atheist. You have to be indoctrinated to religion and god(s).

  • @thirdLeg

You arent born into atheism, God can talk to you before you even are introduced to religion. At a young age (without religion) God can talk to a child, and the child can comprehend and understand God's words. And for those who say children cant comprehend that well at a young age, if babies are able to understand things complicated at that age, then how does the brain not evolve and increase in comprehension abilities? But, talk about the contradiction of atheist and children.

  • You're honestly think god talks to kids? Does god talk to you? Do you hear voices? If you think god is talking to you, you are insane. There would be no difference between you and the people in mental hospitals except you have named the voice god.

  • @thirdLeg

So, where do thoughts come from then? Where do your intelligent thoughts come from? Oh, they come from the brain, which was created by a evolutionary wave in the beginning of time. Humans were created by an existing organism, that evolved into a human, right? Now to make an atheist argument useless...is if they believe that humans already exist from an existing being, then they believe something was already created before hand, right? Then why not believe God created all things?

  • You think you're making a valid argument but you're not. Evolution just says that life changes. Why it changes is because of mutation and natural selection. Yes our thoughts come from our mind and yes our mind has been developing over millions of years.

  • Where did god come from?

  • Where did anything come from? I know that argument already, its an attempt to convince believers that there is no God. Well, before you can wonder about what created God, you need to think about where YOU came from. Can't walk before you crawl, son.....

  • When people say god created the universe/everything , what they are doing is trying to solve a mystery by applying an even greater mystery. It has no explanatory power and it doesn't tell us anything. Its just something that makes us feel conformable thinking we've found the answer, when really, we've just tricked ourselves into thinking we've found the answer. Once you get to the point where you cant go back any further, the answer is "I don't know".

  • I have parents...

  • actaully i did walk before crawled

  • Those idiots, they're going to lose that lawsuit. The first amendment clearly states that the U.S. government and it's agencies cannot endorse any religion. They're literally suing the school for following the law! What a couple of stupid parents.

  • Just represent the important ones. Dilwali is the festival of lights, btw

  • I remember it was pretty simple when I went to school. All Holidays were represented. Well I don't remember Ramadan, but the important ones were. lol

  • I always get a laugh out of his field reporters. People always run from them. Just answer the question, running makes you look like your guilty of something.

  • @talltom1973 you know what unbiased journalism is? It's not starting with the question "Why are you ruining Christmas?" I wouldn't play into that line of questioning either. Try "Why do you feel it's important to take the religious symbols out of the school?" That's real Journalism. Fox news is a Joke.

  • Why are they trying to force people to recognise their belief system in a public school? Send your kids to Catholic school if you don't like secular schools.

  • Santa has as much to do with religion as Scooby Doo

  • @ConnDevi88 lmfao

  • Have these people forgotten why we left Europe in the first place? It was to be exactly free from religious oppression. Now they want to repress freedom of religion/freedom from religion and the establishment clause.

Hey, O'Reilly, don't ever quote the founders in your favor again, if you want to talk such nonsense.

  • If candy canes are not religious symbols, are they academic symbols?

Or is it, just because they are so nutritious?

  • Candy Canes represent the cane of a shepherd, like Jesus 'the shepherd' so yes, they are religious symbols.

  • An atheist offended by santa and candy canes? Isn't all that stuff pagan anyway?

  • Yes, Everything about Christmas is Pagan, Apparently Though People "Smart" Enough to Believe in the Omnipotent Invisible Man Can't Realize This

  • I CALL BRAIN TUMORS.

  • "We did a fair & balanced thing there"

    yea right a-hole.

  • Diwali...

why do they always find their own ignorance so amusing?

  • 2:40 " Ruin our childrens minds with political correctness" are you fucking kidding me??? Sorry they are trying to teach tolorance and respect to everyone, your religion has obviously not done a good enough job up until now, why not let the secularists have a stab at it!

  • "Why are you ruining Christmas?" What a fucking moron!

  • Wow that reporter is an ass, stop badgering people Fox News.

  • I actually agree with Bill on this one. Christmas is a traditional Western holiday, which is connected to ... Christianity! (Gasp!). A nativity scene is NOT offensive, any more than some Jewish kids playing with a dreidel is. I mean, I consider myself atheistic/agnostic at this point in time, but I don't go around being offended at traditional holiday celebrations. If these people want a ban on Christmas symbolism, then they ought to be obliged to attend school on Christmas Day!

  • It is not about being offended or not, it is about a government run service catering to one religion and not all, and because of time and space constraints it would be impossible to respect every religion so they opt to not cater to any. Seems kind of fair to me.

  • @zeppelin8

Very well said....it's sad that people focus on such absurdities when there are much more pressing issues to resolve. As a Christian if atheists want a federal holiday to celebrate their views I'm all for it. In fact I will volunteer to work on that day to show it's irrelevance to me. If athiest hate Christmas, ignore it and let others enjoy what's special to them.

  • well im athiest and i dont have anything against santa :D

and christmas nowdays isnt really a "christians only" holliday :D

  • You're right so what is there point? All they're attempting to do is take the fun out of Christmas for everyone due to their own personal misery. I celebrate days based on my beliefs and I have no problem with others celebrating traditions or views that I don't agree with. If anyone wants to throw a big parade and celebrate a tradition I'm not into I'll either meet them out there and enjoy their efforts or I'll stay home and mind my own business. We need more tolerance on all sides.

  • kinda scary how far some are driven with their ideas, these athiests in america seem to act more and more like christian fundementalists :D

  • Ha! Good one I think......It just goes to show how humanity as a whole is not without flaw no matter what their beliefs. Those who are petrified of differing theories or viewpoints most likely need to reevaluate their own beliefs. Ignorance is bliss though isn't it? ;)

  • Christmas is not Christian it is Pagan! Most Christmas carols and symbols are pagan themselves, Holly and Ivy are Pagan not Christian but Pagan,

  • I'm aware of this! SEE!? Pagans are being discriminated against!

  • ...really? they couldn't spend about ten seconds to google what diwali was? wow...

  • I thought the same thing.

  • Comment removed

  • everyone is born atheist. that is without religion, religion is learned because it is taught. It is assigned by parents.

  • Atheist = a non belief in god.

Babies have no concept of god, yet alone believe in this imaginary man in the sky, thus are atheists.

Babies = have no belief in god.

  • I loved it when he said they did a "Fair and Balanced" segment. What exactly is balanced or fair about "Hey, how come you are ruining Christmas for the children?"

Clearly that is a one-sided comment followed by nothing for the other side.

What is scary is that there are actual people that thought it was "Fair and Balanced" sitting there saying "Yup, t'was fair and balernced, uhuh, yepm, shore was..."

  • banning candy cans is retarded, just like fox

  • Every time Bill O'Reilly defends Christmas, God kills an elf.

Please, Bill, think of the little elves.

  • LOL!

  • Why do Christians seem to have such a difficult time understanding the concept of "separation of church and state"?

  • Santa Claus and candy canes have nothing to do with the birth of Christ and our reason for celebrating Christmas. Banning children from being able to buy things that delight them is just sad on the part of liberals. People just need to relax and let kids enjoy Christmas and the traditions that we all enjoyed as children.

  • Nobody, including liberals, is talking about banning children from buying things they like or from celebrating Christmas or any other holiday. The issue is "Separation of Church and State." Children have no business "buying things that delight them" while they are supposed to be in school learning things. People should feel free to relax and enjoy Christmas and the traditions that we all enjoyed as children - at home.

  • Christians are so stupid.

  • Diwali is a Hindu Christmas...over a billion people...sigh americans

  • its a candy cane, what the hell is up with these idiots?

  • It is a good point, his point is saying if you have one symbol then you need to have another. And it is best to have neither. I agree. School is for education not religon.

  • Ruin Christmas? Since when has christmas been about religion, we have people going broke and parents crying because they cannot buy there kids the latest gadgets. It has nothing to do with religion.

  • Christmas was a pagan celebration long before the Christians hijacked it, and has been a celebration of consumerism and greed every since...What are you bleating about?

  • Haha, christians shouting "We demand to be recognized!" but they fail to realize that EVERYONE should have the same rights. So, that gives 2 options. 1) allow nothing, or 2) allow whoever wants to put up something to put it up.

Now, I can ensure you, when I want to hang up my satanic symbols, sacrifice some chickens to appease the river gods and inhale noxious vapours for Apollo, the Christians will scream and shout that it's not OK to allow religion in the class room.

  • Good for them!

  • this is such bull shit , enough of this PC bull shit , it's called christmas day for God sake

  • "We're just trying to help out the kids, you know what I'm saying?"

This is coming from a reporter... talking to a police officer.

    Fuck me.

  • I hate these wankers. They just assume that Christmas and santa, and Christmas trees, and reindeer etc are offensive to atheists. I LOVE Christmas and am 100 % atheist. Candy canes are traditionally Christian ???!!!!

  • People are growing brains!

    Fuck all religion.

  • God I hate Jesse Waters. What a jerk.

  • Thank God for America, the land of the free!

Seriously...? What the hell is wrong with these people? Hey! Look at us Christians, we're 80% of the American population, we deserve some respect here!

  • Wouldn't, if atheist wanted to convert people, it be a good idea to try to take Xmas away from Christans? I mean, that is how Christmas started isn't, with the Roman Christians changing non Christian holidays to Christianity? I mean, isn't Christmas just a replacement of Winter solstice? Where are the biblical references to Jesus being born in the died of winter? Or Jesus being killed and resurrected at the time of Easter? As Christianity stole their holidays from other beliefs, I am not sure...

  • you know why American Children are falling behind kids of other countries around the world? Because their parents are too concerned with Candy Canes and Holiday decorations rather than Math and Reading instruction. What a bunch of dumb fucks.

  • What's Diwali? The man doesn't even educate himself on topics for his own show! What an ignorant f...

I'm atheist and I have no problem with Santa, trees, candy canes, or reindeer. I find them all pretty secular.

But crosses, angels, menorahs, Jesus fish, dreidels, etc all do carry very clear religious meaning & should be avoided in the decor.

I'm not personally offended (unless they are trying to recruit), but its still probably best to just avoid religion in public buildings all together.

  • I wouldn't doubt that Jesse Watters simply heard "no religious symbols" and merely ASSUMED that Santa Claus and candy canes were banned from this school. I could be wrong, though.

Obviously I'd have no problems with those types of decorations either because Christmas CAN BE and IS celebrated secularly. Americans celebrate Halloween, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's an endorsement of Anglo paganism.

  • Hear, hear. I was going to comment separately but I read your comment and what you wrote encapsulates my views precisely.

  • Fair and balanced my ass.

  • thats a school not a church, if u want religious celebrations go to your religious schools or to your moms house
