Ok Gerrard got 24 goals in the 08/09 season and was rightly credited for it, but Lampard scored 27 goals in the 09/10 season and didn't even get into the Premier League team of the Season. Disgrace. And same again in the 06/07 season, Gerrard scored 11 goals and got into the Premier League team of the Season, and Lampard scored 21 and didn't. Unjustice. Lampard is better.

I don't know why this is a debate...
Lampard is nothing compared to Gerrard.
Reasons (not ranked in any particular order):
1. Gerrard won Player of the Year when he played out of position for that whole season
2. Gerrard has scord in the final of every major competitin possible
3. Gerrard is more far more skilled ( defend/tackle, and score)
4. Gerrard is a much better leader
5. Brought LFC back into the UCL final when 3-0 down against best team in world
6. Better for country.

Lampard is so underated. Everyone always credits Gerrard for every little thing. Ok Gerrard got 24 goals in the 08/09 season and was rightly credited for it, but Lampard scored 27 goals in the 09/10 season and didn't even get into the Premier League team of the Season. Disgrace. And same again in the 06/07 season, Gerrard scored 11 goals and got into the Premier League team of the Season, and Lampard scored 21 and didn't. Unjustice. Lampard is better.

xavi is better but scores less than both of them
lampard is more disciplined, but in terms of talent gerrard is by far the better/more complete player (pace, strength, stronger shooter, tackling ability, can actually run with a ball...)
gerrard is effective on both wings (especially on the right) or in the hole, even in defensive position except CB, lampard is far from versatile...

He is a more skillful, exciting and by far a more inspirational player. i know that Lampard has scored more goals in his career, but Gerrards goal and assist ratios are just as good. So yes Lampard has scored tripple the amount of career goals than Gerrard. Gerrard only has 140 career goals which is very low compared to Lampard's 228 career goals. So you are wrong about Lampard not scoring 40 goals.
Lampard has scored 9 against Liverpool also has 7 goals v Man U in his career.

@libolo222 No. Chelsea came back from behind to knock out Liverpool in the famous 4-4 draw in the 2008 Champions League semi-finals and it was Lampard who scored the x2 goals which knocked out Liverpool to proceed to the 2008 UCL final and he also scored in the Champions League Final against Manchester United.

Gerrard has to be the most overrated player in premier league history. he has one good game and then other games where he tries impossible passes and gives the ball away, but Liverpool supporters are blind to this fact and are in such need of a hero at their club in the last decade that they're reduced to falsely proclaiming Gerrard to be an all time great.

Gerrard single handle helped us through the Champions League, and the 2005 Final his performance was top class and in 2006 FA Cup Final again, top class performance, lifts a team when they are down, the things Gerrard has done for his club Frank could only dream of yet Lampard is a great player don't get me wrong i would love to have him at LFC, but picking him over Gerrard i go with Stevie G all day

that's the thing, those performances were five years ago, lampard's done it consistently ever since he became a first team regular.

@Theechosen1from1993 Only because Gerrard has been out injured alot of late he was world class in the 08/09 season when Torres was linking up with him so idk where your getting your facts from and what are you talking about, LOL Lampard isn't even playing that well himself at the minute

gerrard is a class player, of course he is, but so overrated by a lot of liverpool fans. some liverpool fans even claim he's as good as zidane. my point is if gerrard was in the chelsea team he'd be rated just as highly as lampard, but he often gets the upper hand in these comparisons because he's been playing amongst so much mediocre talent in the past decade while lampard has played in championship winning sides with multi million pound signings.

In 2005 Frank Lampard came 2nd place to Ronaldinho in both the FIFA World player of the year and Ballon d'Or awards. Lampard is the only English player to come second in Fifa World player of the year since David Beckham in 2001 which is a massive achievement for Lampard as it's very difficult for an English player to win those awards.
