XIII monkey-wrenches this ending a bit. What exactly were Elisabeth and Ash supposed to be doing? Ash gets the drop on Saiki in XIII but he seems to do that outside of any commitment he may or may not have had to Elisabeth. Elisabeth doesn't seem to get involved too much in Ash's activities in XIII (though I do think her team is the canonical winners of KoF XIII and her team are the ones that fight Saiki in the last battle).

I only pointed out that even though Ash has Iori's flames, Ash doesn't have Iori's curse. That's because Ash doesn't have the orochi blood, which also runs through iori's veins.

@Coballes19 your right. Iori has the Orochi blood curse, which of course, makes him go berserk. But all Ash did was take Iori's Yasakani no Magatama, which contains his purple flames. You see, when the Yasakani clan made the blood pact with Orochi, they got purple flames, which is a bonus, because they already had powers before. The Yasakani no Magatama is just an add-on. In KOF XIII, Iori's movelist is based on his old Yasakani powers because Ash stole his Yagami powers.

According to Ash, it looks like that Elizabeth's team, the Rival Team, won the KOF XI tournament, but Ash did steel Iori's purple flame and his sacred treasure. So according to the Hero Team, Rival Team, and Kusanagi & Yagamai Team endings, Hero's Team is 1st, followed by the K & Y Team(short for Kusanagi and Yagami team), and the Rival Team.
