  • cool amp

  • it has sort of a deadmau5y sound, you should sell it to him

  • is it me or does this sound like something deadmau5 would make ;)

  • Have you tried implementing MIDI on it? That would be unbelievably awesome.

  • @meedily yes, the notes are actually played by MIDI. this is also the bases for my home-made sequencer that can play this synth (see my other videos).

  • @KrassesZeug Wow. That's really cool. Did you base this synth off of a particular schematic or is this all made from scratch? Either way it sounds incredible.

  • You should make Dubstep with this!

  • sounds great... very gritty and raw. want one.

  • you ought to call the synth 'dirty girl' lovely gritty sound, i'm jealous!

  • jack white would love this thing

  • that's a mean sounding saw >:o

  • Can you make a video, how you made it?

  • i would love to make a wobble bass out of the sound at 0:55

  • Best sounding imo at 0:55

Awesome device, would be cool to have one. Great work!

  • how the heck do you build a synthesizer? :O

  • Awesome! Will you make a video of the components inside?

  • @SweetBanginRobotics no... it looks quite messy ;-)

  • That is just too cool! Wish I had enough money to ask you to build me one!

  • wow

  • Oh man, what a great sounding synth, great job.

That sequence you play reminds me of Sigur Ros. :)

  • love that sound

  • sickk

  • Recognizable analog sound:) I've made analog synthesizer with one square oscillator and simple filter. The most difficult thing - is making keyboard, though I used keyboard of cheap Cortland.

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Dude i hope u kno that this synth is crazy and amazing and u shud do this professionally if u rnt alredy.

  • can i make one??

  • This is the best homemade synthesizer I've heard. The other ones are good crafts for amateurs, but this one is almost a professional synthesizer. You just need to give it a more polished exterior.

  • fat and warm, i like it!

  • @KrassesZaug

Got any circuits for us? =)

  • super raw =)

probably the best synth ive heard in a while =D

  • @quadcam24v thanks

  • Thanks. Now I have to clean jizz off my keyboard.

  • Awesome!!

  • raw, juicy and warm, perfect !

  • excuse me bro, whats more exspensive? building an analog synthesizer or buying one?

  • @RussianHatRevival its approximatelly equal ;-)

  • @KrassesZeug Really???. that's shocking,i recall a time when it was cheaper to build one, what has changed???.

  • actually if you made another id prolly buy it from you

  • Excellent. my favorite sounds were the first that you put on.

  • bravo

  • Thanks!

  • Great work!

  • @VerminTwins The Keyboard is connected to the synth by a MIDI-Interface. It can also be used to control the oscillators by a sequencer. Right now I´m planing an Arduino-based step-sequencer (8 or 16 steps). As soon as it works, I will post the plan somewere. The Synth connected to another step-sequencer can also be seen in one of my videos "Home-made Synthesizer played by Step-Sequencer "

  • @KrassesZeug

So the midi gets converted to CV/Gate somewhere ? Did you build the Midi / CV interface yourself? I think It's really phat sounding, especially with the The self made tube amp! Nice job, I am really curious about the insides/schematics you used :-)

  • @VerminTwins The Synth connected to another step-sequencer can be seen also in one of my videos "Home-made Synthesizer played by Step-Sequencer ".

  • @VerminTwins Hi, thank you very much! The the MIDI-Keys are hocked up via a MIDI interface. Thats also how it´s connected to a sequencer.

Right now I am planing a Arduino-based Step-Sequencer (8 or 16 steps), which I will post somewhere, as soon as it works.

  • Are the keys smaller than nomal? They don't look full size.

  • @paperpichu yes they are indeed smaller

  • @KrassesZeug or my hands are very big :-)

  • what do you mean by nearly finished? it seems done and awesome to me. cou use a bit of painting or something, but it looks like the next minimoog to me. good job!

  • dude it sounds hella fat!

  • Nice! Really nice gritty sound man! I havn't heard anything like that since the Moog Prodigy! =D

  • @darkazesim Thanks! ;-)

  • yep... thats the 1... but same shit... its ok cuz its hardwer... so try more... but ok

  • great job. that's a kickin synthesizer

  • really nice phase sound on that synth

  • amazing!

  • very nice

  • did u get those knobs from a microkorg? haha

  • GJ 5/5 :)

  • Sounds really nice. Welcome to the DIY world, keep up this work!

  • very nice, I am hoping to build something like this in the future., but its going to be a bit more complex. I am hoping to have 3 VCO's two ADSR Envelopes, 2 LFO's A sample and Hold and a 16 step sequencer all on one panel. I just finished a MFOS Soundlab synth and will be posting a video soon.

  • You are right, my synth is not that complex. It has 3 VCOs, one Noise Generator and only one ADSR (for filter and VCA). A LFO to control the VFC will be built next.

  • Thanks for your votes!

  • nice

  • sounds great!

  • @buchla300 great? I guess you meant AWESOME!!

    Really good work, Zeug

  • @francislalan Thanks for your feedback!

  • Sounds awesome! I´ve really been wanting to make a synth myself, with keyboard. Where did you buy the pcb´s? :)

  • I took an old MIDI-Keyboard for the keyboard section. As I opened the keyboard, it turned out, that it consisted of 2 pcb´s that could easily be devided into 2 parts. So I took only the longer part (with more keys). I will use the rest keys to generate swith events to controll the sound unit (keys are connected to switches on the front control plate).

  • Does anyone have an idea how to build a small pitch bend wheel? I just need to connect it to a potentiometer.

  • You could try heading to a thrift store and finding an old joystick - the way they move potentiometers with elastic bands/gears is pretty similar to a pitch bend wheel. You might be able to derive something from that, or at least get an idea. I'm in class now but will watch this video once I get home~

  • Thanks for the idea. I have an old joystick, but it´s too big to build it in. Maybe I will also try to use a FSR (force sensing resistor).

  • Sounds great. Own design or did you use existing pcb's?

  • I used existing pcb´s.

  • fantastic.
