@ashtonbeharry Heat from the palms is an indication that your qi is flowing. There are many philosophies that claim that various elements such as fire or water dominate the various mudras but it is better to explore the mudras, yourself, to find what they contain rather than be influenced by (perhaps) a wrong idea. Yes, different meridians are in different fingers but it is your qi that flows, not some ideological fire or water or earth element.
@remet911 It's probably difficult because you are trying to learn it all at once. Just learn one mudra at a time. Practice it for a while, as you calm your mind with the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra. Then learn the next one. As Lao Tsu wrote: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single foot step." One step at a time, and you will complete the entire journey.
Nice video buddy, but I think u shouldn't share this kind of knowledge with the world :/ u don't think that a lot of stupid people will use this like a game? :/
@IamRekion Ignorance does not improve people; only knowledge can do that. So, if you want people to be healthy, happy and prosperous, isn't it best to also give them the knowledge that will allow them to excell? Even in the darkest place, a ninja -- as well as all people -- has the Light within him or her. The mudras are merely tools for finding that light and holding it.
Excellent post. Thank you, sir. I found these exercises useful and subtle. As a beginning Aikidoka, gaining strength and flexibility in the wrist and fingers is important. I am also inclined to believe that later these help with directing power, but I'm aware that these arts must be de-mystified at first, and only re-mystified after years of dedicatetd practise. Again, many thanks.
@zarisstokell The only "mystery" is when you don't know something. Whether using these mudras to limber up your fingers to play a piano sonata, to unlock acupuncture meridians for improved healh or for locking and breaking an opponent's fingers in prepartion for throwing him across the room, these mudras have many uses. All of civilization is created by the hands of Man. Simple though they are, hands and fingers have many uses. Perhaps they are more wonderous than they are mysterious.
i want to learn this. he might being going to fast for me im in to jiu jitsu and judo. so i l love grappeling! =) and i think this is really good for me. do i have to do all of them that he did. or do i pick a few?
@banjobilly no i dont want to learn ninjitsu. the question is directe to hand strenghting... should i do all that the guy is showing? or what? and i dont know many throws in judo..... just a very few and i do them well actually just to be a smart ass also. my friend sent me this link telling me this is what his teacher said is good for hand strenghenting. i did do this earlier. i want to strenghten my hands for.... jiu jitsu. for judo... have a nice strong grip. understand?
@138NProgress There are only nine basic mudras. That doesn't really seem like a lot to learn, does it? You can count them as fewer than the fingers on your hand. Learning anything only half way means that you never learn anything.
This is legit- I studied ninjutsu and this was a part of it, although I cant vouch for the history lesson he has given- ( cant say it is or isnt, because I have no real idea...)
@sdave616 I've made a mistake in thinking I knew anything about ninjutsu (saying it's a martial art that works). I don't have any immediate need to learn to become a practitioner, but where did you learn your art? I would like to know to improve my knowledge on the subject, and to learn humility.
I really got to say, this has got to be one of, if not, the best videos i've come across. Not for the video itself, it has great information, but because the comments section is not cluttered with hatred. Just true questions with deep answers. Just reading them gives me a great feeling of peace.
thank you Banjobilly. i am very interested in this. I have heard of going to far spiritually though into some dangerous realms (or so i've read in some Tibetian Buddism literature). Are you aware of how NOT to go too far? and stay in a peaceful state?
@frankgrimms People who get lost usually don't have a map. So they travel to far places and get confused and lose their way. But people who travel to far places with a map, know where they are going and how to get back if they choose. The spiritual maps are the Tao Te Ching, Dhammapada, Bhagavad-Gita, Srimad-Bhagavatum, Chuang Tsu, and New Testament. These maps show paths to take and they save a lot of confusion; but ultimately one must take the path beneath one's feet and leave all maps behind.
one walks a path crossing over a stone, we move on the path again only to see that the stone is still in its place, over an over it is still there, only when one is needed do we pick the stone up, thank you for leaving this stone for me to find
as has turned into water and quenched me ,,thank you for your knowledge how do i find more from you ?
what are the implications of 九字切り for the fingers? obviously they become strengthened but its one thing to see and another to do, basically I'm interested in how each cut should be exercise the hand
@uoza92 One of the secrets of Secrets is that for those who are not destined to learn the secrets, no matter how much they see the secret and no matter how much they do the secret, the secret is forever hidden from them. The key to the secrets of the Nine Cutting Fingers is simply this: Sincere desire for knowledge, humble respect for the Universe and practice of the Nine Cutting Fingers. Sincerity, humility, and practice will unlock all of the locks and open the treasure. that is all one needs.
You seem to have great wisdom. I tried following the video and tried doing the hand techniques. I've tried doing it for the past 3 days. I know you may not tell me exactly exactly how many "Secrets" there are that regard to the video above, but at least tell me: Is this just one of MANY techniques that are still highly hidden by the general public?
@mllj0 There are many secrets. But mysteriously, they are available to anyone who seeks them. One cannot hold a bowl in one's hands by closing one's fists; only by opening one's hands can one hold a bowl. The "secret" of holding a bowl is just as easy as the mystical secrets. If you learn the mudras, then you have the keys. Don't lose them. Use the keys to open the lock. The lock is upon the treasure chest of your own True Self. All of the secrets are within you. Breathe deep and look there.
With great respect I humbly ask this question. When enlightenment is reached & you’re in a state of nirvana or past satori how long can one stay there in that state? Does the body impose any limitation as to time spent there? Is there a danger there?
@ebrown405 When Gautama Buddha first attained Enlightenment, he stood in astonishment for five days and nights. The body does not impose any limitation for staying in the state of Satori if that attainment is one's final Nirvana because at such a time, one remains in Nirvana and the body dies. Otherwise, yes, one must attend to the physical needs of the body at some time though once one is enlightened, one remains enlightened.
Not only does it enchance finger, hand and arm strength, it creates health and vitality in them as well. It's more than just a physical exercise, it's also mental and spiritual! It's great and I enjoyed it a lot. After doing these often, I were able to do a deep massage for 2 hours without getting sore. It creates peace i nthe mind! It surely is wonderful! We are all students of the world, in the school of life!
haters are going to hate, and fool will always be ignorant, finger strengthening is vital for certain techniques nice video i thought, though the mantra almost sent me into a meditative coma , waaay too relaxing.
first thing i think when seeing title was Nanto Seiken!, lol ha ha but realy my brother has told me about hand techniques!, actualy according to wat i know real authentic original ninjas were simply monks escaping persecution from the dreaded samurai who feared them so much that they turned japan into a supressed nation & uttering "ninja" was punishable by death, but ninjutsu only got stronger with these oppressions cause it gave need for more techniques!▐▐▐
I remember hearing that name nine hand cutting from ninja domination 3 when the old guy says she is possessed by a black ninja with all the powers of the nine hand cutting.
I always thought it was just some thing they made up for the movie. guess not
The Seals were basically used to take the mind to another level of thinking/relaxation of the mind/or to engage into a state of mind where it is only the User and his opponent(s). Video's such as this shouldn't be posted as facts when the facts they obtain are biased. It would be appreciative to those who want to learn, to learn the facts. Not half done research. Though I do not intend or imply any harsh feelings towards the creator of this video.
@BenjiKibitokai1 For you who get your martial arts knowledge from cartoons, this seems like rather harsh criticism from a know-nothing. Really, go to a dojo and learn real martial arts. Anime is not what you should be looking for to learn the Way.
@banjobilly +1 to that, stupid finger knitting (which was developed by religious not Ninjas who seem to get the credit for everything as do most fairy tale characters) does not make you Mr Lethal, I've trained since 1987 and know that mind skills come from meditation not bending your fingers. If you think there are any short cuts in the martial arts then the only fact is you're not learning the right arts.
@robbydesigns I've trained since 1966. Maybe there is still something for an old guy like you to learn. I have brought black belt karate opponents to their knees using these mudras. The martial arts are vast and deep; no one knows it all and there is always something more to learn. Read this thread from the beginning and learn something.
@robbydesigns You are kidding right? I trained Shotokan Karate Do before studying NinPo (real NinPo not fairy tales and hype) and know nobody can win a fight by making funny signals with their hands, maybe you boil frogs in pots and make your enemies disappear too?
@robbydesigns You are assuming too much. Nobody said anything about winning a fight by making funny signals with their hands. These mudras are designed for locking and throwing the oppontent. Yes, they have health and spiritual purposes also. But they are primarily designed for chin-na and anti-chin-na applications. You seem quite proud of your knowledge. Perhaps with some humility, the deeper secrets will be revealed to you.
Thank you, banjobilly, for your insight and intelligent responses. My studies in Ninjutsu have revolved around three substances, body, mind, and spirit. Unlike most martial artists these days (contrary to what they might say or argue), I can tell that you've spent a great deal of time educating yourself in your art form. Not just practicing martial arts physically, but mentally as well. Although I may have a few different viewpoints, I respect your knowledge -- A fellow student of Ninjutsu
@robbydesigns you dont seem to be paying attention. the voice in the video states where the methods came from. are just watching it with the sound down, or did you just assume what was going on, and refused to pay attention? who says you cant meditate while doing this moves? i dont any spot in this video where short cuts are mentioned. maybe you shoud find a new teacher who helps you pay attention.
@BenjiKibitokai1 using the term 'seals' tells us where you've gathered your knowledge ^^ cry in the dojo, laugh on the battlefield. to me it seems you've never set foot on either one.
Does anyone know what kasatrian (sp) yoga is? I am a yoga teacher and I practice jujutsu, so it was very interesting to me what he said at 0:27, that these mudras are the keys to them. Unfortunately I've never heard of kasatrian yoga before.
It's amazing how Greg Park (Choson Ninja) has copied this video clip, at least the first segment exactly in his video post on Kuji Kiri dated October 12th 2009 and is teaching it as part of his Choson Nintaijutsu program, but if you look at his earlier clip "072 Ninja Chosen Kuji kiri basic foundations." He is showing a totally different set of Kuji Kiri. It makes me wonder if he even has the faintest clue what the Kuji Kiri is about other than it looks cool, so let's do it!
@reginaninja :yeh choson seems like a bit of a douche.. theres one vid of him talking about squeezing your sphincter muscle,, but he keeps saying that old masters will be pissed at him for showing this,, whatever
@noklarok The power of abdominal breathing has its root in the Hui Yin acupuncture point located between your anus and uro-genital area. Pull up on that point as you inhale. This will pull qi into tan tien, up the spine to Bai Hui point at top of the head. As you exhale, qi will flow down front of your body back to tan tien returning to your Hui Yin point. When you inhale, the anal sphincter will be pulled upward. So, Choson Ninja was giving you one of the greatest of martial arts secrets.
@noklarok Maybe if you knew anything about the Tao, you would understand what he was talking about. You could start by having an open mind, & getting yourself
@reginaninja It is difficult to judge because a teacher always knows more than a student. Choson Ninja is an expert martial artist and a great teacher. Since the 9 Cutting Fingers has been secret for so many centuries, who can say what he taught earlier is different than what he teaches today? Perhaps now that the secret is out, he has decided to teach more of what he knows. We are all students no matter how long we study. No one knows it all; there is always more to learn.
@banjobilly Actually, I believe the only thing that Mr. Park knows on the topics of Kuji-Kiri & Kuji-in is what he has gleaned from books and videos. There is far more to both these topics than what even the video you posted goes into. Mr. Park's copy was only the mudras, which in unto themselves are only hand exercises, and have no discernible meaning. They are just pretzel fingers without the proper mantras and intent to go with them. These are things that should not be taught on line anyway!
@reginaninja You are reading too much into the mystical side of the mudras and not seeing the practical side. They, themselves, teach you what they contain IF YOU PRACTICE THEM. The proper mantra is given in the video. Proper intent can only come from he who practices them. When Buddha was enlightened, his first words were, "Oh, how wonderful. Everyone can achieve this state of mind." What is taught online is what needs to be taught. Are you saying books and videos cannot teach you anything?
Tell me, how can I know that these are the real 9 hand seals? If you search in internet you'll find at least 3 different versions of doing the "RIN" seal (for example)...
@banjobilly i think you are retarded , and i think you don't know anything about ninjas and ninjutsu , i'm an expert , training every day ..... Talking these shits won't change nothing ..........
@banjobilly I think chosons strong stance on religion is part of his reason for making videos...to attract fighters to christianity, and lead them away from the true spiritual aspect and perspective you need
@HazyFuture take a class. they have many ninkutsu and martial arts trainning areas. serach for them on the internet and try to find some you like. i hope this information helped
hey banjobilly, how do you practise these mudras? are you supposed to meditate while doing these mudras? are you supposed to chant "om mani padme hum"? also have you practised these mudras? what did you feel?
At the lowest level, there are fighting forms in every martial art. The higher arts link a variety of forms together into longer sequences so that the qi (prana) animates the body thru the forms. This qi-body creates jing (kundalini power). In addition to the steps (kata) there is yet a higher level where dance (with music) links many kata together into a harmonious transcendence into the fire of Shiva.
I do this like twice a week now every time i do it i feel less stressed out and my hands have a really warm energy feeling thur it. The more i do it i noticed the warm feeling has gotten stronger even 6-10mins doing this
Since your qi is begining to manifest, you might want to try the breathing method. The Hui Yin accupuncture point is located between your anus and uro-genital area. Pull up on that point as you inhale. This will pull qi into your tan tien, up the spine to the top of the head where the Bai Hui point is located. From there, as you exhale, the qi will flow down the front of your body back to the tan tien returning to your Hui Yi point. This is one breath, one circulation of the microcosmic orbit.
I read a comment on this board where a individual started to feel sick or get head pains. I used to do this daily and really feel the power from it until I started to feel the same and I'm wondering if I'm doing it too much or just incorrectly?
As long as you aren't causing yourself pain by doing them too forcefully, you can't do them wrong. Head pains are usually caused by concentrating on the hands and forgetting that they are connected to the wrists, forearms, shoulders, and neck. People often tense their neck muscles when putting strain into their hands, causing head aches. Too, the mudras can release old toxins trapped in the body from old illesses. This is known as a healing crises. Learn about natural diets and avoid junk food.
That's a very good sign. It means that your blood circulation and qi flow are increasing. Now, without actually touching your body move your warm hands around on your arms and chest or head and anywhere on your body that seems in need of energy and see if your body can feel the heat given off by your hands. There should also be a feeling of a slight magnetic push along with the heat. If your body can sense this, then you really should start learning some qi gong to increase your skill-power.
seriouslly this work to prevention of arthritis? Just work for this? I had understood that it worked for expand fields of consciousness, I hope I have been clear, thanks
The mudras will help to dissolve arthritis in the hands, wrists and elbows, but you also need to have a natural diet for this to become a cure rather than just as a pain relief.
i love doing this, i sit down and go through all of these everyday. i always feel so relaxed afterward. but i cant seem to memorize these..anyone have an easy way to do so?
Think about it. How do you memorize anything? Think about it. After you learn the mudras, to find their secrets that you haven't found, yet, you have to think about it. What could be easier than that?
Are there variations? Some people use different positions than you but still refer to them as kuji kiri. Are all variations intended to achieve the same ends?
Of course there are variations! The Nine Mudras are the basic techniques, the gateways for a variety of variations. Just the first mudra, alone, has 28 variations, one for each finger joint. The numbers of variations increase as the mudras become more complex. So, the variations that you see in other schools doesn't mean that it does not occur in this school but merely that one school shows one and another school shows another. Practice the mudras to find the variations.
Mu guess is ,and from what i have been finding on the net , is that there are several ways top perform ,each set derived from different backgrounds and cultural settings .
this video didn't come from ashida kim now did it......? nice video by the way. i always thought it was some uber deadly magic thing/made-up psychological warfare to scare enemies. but yeah, these are some pretty good hand exercises which will help with my yoga! if i do these exercises after fingertip pushups, will that get rid of those nasty hand cramps?
Youthful enthusiasm has its limits. Ancient ways have their gifts. Running too fast is a sure way to miss the beauty of subtle flowers. Be careful. You have found a treasure. But if you try to carry it away all at once, it is sure to make you old, and decrepit, broken and weak. Mystical knowledge works like this. If you break your fingers, how can you blame the mudras?
i'll try my best to internalise these points... so can this kuji can have some nasty side effects that go beyond the physical? i have had some weird experiences regarding kundalini in the past from trying to learn too much too soon...
You already know the answer to your question ... trying to learn too much too soon. Be gentle with the mudras, stretch like a cat and be aware of the little things that you discover within your own Self. All side-effects are beneficial ones, as long as the corners of your lips turn upward with a Buddha smile. So, straighten your neck as you practice the mudras and breathe from your belly like a child.
thank you... sometimes the things i discover about myself can be quite scary, as can some effects, even kundalini is very unsettling for me, what should i do when that happens...?
I'm fairly certain that moving ones fingers that way will not treat or prevent cancer or even a common cold. So that's a pretty hefty claim on their part.
There are many ways to treat disease. The more powerful methods give a person the tools to prevent illness and to treat illness. Usually, several methods are used on any one disease. So, it is difficult to generalise about such things without knowing the specifics.
hi. I'm a iranian, nice video. I'm not Muslim my dad is my mom is. and that's not right what you saying about iran. we never weren't muslim you know why? because we are persian and that's mean not thing can change us. those who ruling on iran they are not iranian they are arabs!!! they changed our truth. truth is something else. and what i wanna say is watch with other eyes. thanks
There are three requirements for learning any kungfu: Learn the moves, Remember the moves and Practice the moves. If you can achive these three requirements, you can answer your own question. The Mudras are numbered for a reason.
The Bhagavad-Gita contains the teachings of the Aryans of India however the Aryans of Iran practiced Mithrianism while the Aryans of Europe were Druids. The name of the country of "Iran" means "Land of the Aryans".
ah i see, but do you know when the Bhagavad-Gita was created, i tried to find it on the internet, i just need to know if any Indian religions came before any Iranian ones, Zardoshti.
but the Ariyans of Iran practised Zardoshti or Zoroastrianism in English, Mithrainism came later.
Keep Googling. You will find what you seek. It doesn't matter which came first since it is a Man's present condition that has always been what must come first. We all live in the present moment; the present moment is more important than what happened thousands of years ago. In the present moment Iran is controlled by Muslims who believe they have the right to kill anyone who is not a Muslim. Such a false religion creates War and a present Hell with promises of a future Paradise.
Sepaz gozaram(Thank you greatly, in original Iranian/Ariyan, with no arabic words)
and Sepaz to your great words,
it is true that the present is more important than the past, for the present controls the future and the past, as the said by Charles Lyell's memorable statement:
"The present is the key to the past"
but the past isn't just useless information we get, the past in fact does control the present and the future, both positivly and negativly,
but thanks to Zardosht, and Zardoshti which teaches us to think positivly, and to talk positively which would create a positive life, for all of logic is positive.
anyways, the past gives us confidence and positive energy (according to the way we use our logic towards it, negative or positive) so the reason i'm looking for which came first is to see which created the other, but i shall find it.
yes, islam is ruining Iran, but the brave, smart, young Iranian Ariyans resist
I tend to have all sort of muscular stretchness pulls and you can name them... played the content...I just followed the mantra behind and did as is said in the video suddenly a refreshing feeling overwellmed my stressed upper extremities .... great and think about it as you listen the mantra behind!
I have found MANY different versions of the nine cuts or the "Kuji-In" all claiming to be used by Ninjas. I hold a Nidan in Ninjutsu and have trained for over 8 Years in Ninjutsu and nearly 21 years in the arts all together.
The narration is very insightful however I utilize 9 different "cuts" then these that are displayed and have found them useful showing me that it is the belief which is held that creates the "effect" of the individual cuts.
what i have found while looking on the net ,there is Kuji-in and Kuji-kiri , and from what i understand ,Kuji-in being the seals and Kuji-kiri being the cuts.
But thats the only differentiation i was able to distinguish .
I am a fingerstyle guitarist and was referred to these movements by a coworker who is a black belt martial arts instructor. I see how these can be very beneficial. Thank you for this demonstration... I think you just changed my life. :)
Stringed instrument musicians find improved dexterity and a sense of satifying relaxation after practicing the nine mudras not just because they stretch the tiny secondary muscles and tendons and open the joints but because they open the acupuncture meridians that run through the hands and thus benefit the entire body as well. Be sure that you are aware of how your shoulders and neck relax as you practice them. As the shoulders drop, the neck straightens. Power comes from softness.
This is wonderful. Thank you very much. You said that once I learn the 9 methods, I can make 81 different varieties. How do I do them? Do I just mix up and combine the original 9? Is there anyway you could post a quick video on the full 81? Just like a 2 second demo of each one? Thank you.
I am a 2nd dan in the White Crane school my home dojo is in Okinawa. And I can tell you that this is very helpful.....I have used it many times in my meditations...don't forget the sutra that you hear in the background either...it helps maintain mental focus, although I don't see why not any sutra wouldn't work in this situation...depends on what you are focusing on I suppose...
with the nine cutting fingers you can make 81 diffent combinations when i do them i hold them til they get sore not painful sore but bearable so then i know my muscles are stretching
Be gentle and don't hurt yourself. If you cause yourself pain, the muscles react by flinching and contracting so you work against what the mudras teach. The secret is gentle stretching.
man, this man sounds like Tobin Bell, don't take things as offencive, by the way i did this hand mudras and before my drivers license test i did those and i passed my drivers license and it calmed me down
What really amazes me is how they came up with this stuff THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO?! How did they know this stuff back then with NO technolgoy or NOTHING? Mystery.
It's no mystery if you realize that all technology is merely an extention of Man. A rock is a hard fist. A stick is a longer arm. A telescope is a stronger eye. An automobile is a faster foot. A computer is a faster brain. Etcetera. But no technology is greater than Man, himself. In fact, when Man depends upon tech and forgets Self, he becomes weaker. The Ancient Ones explored their Inner Self and found great things; Modern Man merely needs to do the same and put aside weakening technology.
words, including those of guru billybob, aren't going to convey why or how consistent practice brings certain "benefits". It's a matter of practicing something over and over that allows you to begin to do the practice without thinking. Then you become aware of...just being aware. And what's really going on for you begins to get unburied from distractions.
The bits about also happening to learn profound self-defense technique from such a practice is a relatively smaller side-benefit.
These exercises helped me enourmously when I was trying hard to concentrete on my thesis and distractions beyond my control were interfering with my work. This clip helped me get through some really hard times. Thank you for this video.
The real strength of the hands is rooted in the forearms. Be sure to relax as you practice the mudras so that the stretchiness can be felt in your forearms, too. Don't neglect to relax your shoulders which allows your neck to straighten. This allows the sleepy Buddha inside of you to awaken and to look through your eyes at the mudras before you.
I guess you didn't read any of the comments in this thread. Being gentle and careful is the secret. Like the first rule of TaiChi: "If you do anything that hurts, Stop." Your body will tell you when you are hurting yourself, so listen to what your body is telling you. Like any exercise, if you injure yourself, stop for a while, massage the hurt areas and rest. Once recovered from your self-inflicted injuries, begin again ... gently. The mudras are powerful, so be careful when you practice them.
hey thats really cool i do martial arts as well so any way i was wondering how many times do u hae to do this or i should say how frequently do i have to practice this ??
there is something truly special about this video

Why is that when I did the second set of mudras a heat started flowing out of my palms? Is this fire style by any chance?
ashtonbeharry 3 months ago
@ashtonbeharry Heat from the palms is an indication that your qi is flowing. There are many philosophies that claim that various elements such as fire or water dominate the various mudras but it is better to explore the mudras, yourself, to find what they contain rather than be influenced by (perhaps) a wrong idea. Yes, different meridians are in different fingers but it is your qi that flows, not some ideological fire or water or earth element.

why is this so hard to do?
remet911 7 months ago
@remet911 It's probably difficult because you are trying to learn it all at once. Just learn one mudra at a time. Practice it for a while, as you calm your mind with the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra. Then learn the next one. As Lao Tsu wrote: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single foot step." One step at a time, and you will complete the entire journey.

thumb is fire, index finger is air, middle is space, ring is earth and pinky is water. correct me if im wrong banjo.
i see various mudra systems out there, but am not 100% sure what element each finger plays.
india, tibet and other places/systems often give fingers diffrent characteristics.

@138NProgress There are only nine basic mudras. That doesn't really seem like a lot to learn, does it? You can count them as fewer than the fingers on your hand. Learning anything only half way means that you never learn anything.

@technoholic562 As you practice, the mudras will teach you how. Yin and yang, one hand teaches, the other learns.

Are you aware of how NOT to go too far? and stay in a peaceful state?
frankgrimms 1 year ago
@frankgrimms People who get lost usually don't have a map. So they travel to far places and get confused and lose their way. But people who travel to far places with a map, know where they are going and how to get back if they choose. The spiritual maps are the Tao Te Ching, Dhammapada, Bhagavad-Gita, Srimad-Bhagavatum, Chuang Tsu, and New Testament. These maps show paths to take and they save a lot of confusion; but ultimately one must take the path beneath one's feet and leave all maps behind.

uoza92 1 year ago
@uoza92 One of the secrets of Secrets is that for those who are not destined to learn the secrets, no matter how much they see the secret and no matter how much they do the secret, the secret is forever hidden from them. The key to the secrets of the Nine Cutting Fingers is simply this: Sincere desire for knowledge, humble respect for the Universe and practice of the Nine Cutting Fingers. Sincerity, humility, and practice will unlock all of the locks and open the treasure. that is all one needs.
banjobilly 1 year ago 2
@banjobilly
Thank you eternally. I appreciate it.
mllj0 1 year ago

Is there a danger there?
ebrown405 1 year ago
@ebrown405 When Gautama Buddha first attained Enlightenment, he stood in astonishment for five days and nights. The body does not impose any limitation for staying in the state of Satori if that attainment is one's final Nirvana because at such a time, one remains in Nirvana and the body dies. Otherwise, yes, one must attend to the physical needs of the body at some time though once one is enlightened, one remains enlightened.

BenjiKibitokai1 1 year ago
@BenjiKibitokai1 For you who get your martial arts knowledge from cartoons, this seems like rather harsh criticism from a know-nothing. Really, go to a dojo and learn real martial arts. Anime is not what you should be looking for to learn the Way.
banjobilly 1 year ago 29
@banjobilly +1 to that, stupid finger knitting (which was developed by religious not Ninjas who seem to get the credit for everything as do most fairy tale characters) does not make you Mr Lethal, I've trained since 1987 and know that mind skills come from meditation not bending your fingers. If you think there are any short cuts in the martial arts then the only fact is you're not learning the right arts.
robbydesigns 1 year ago
@robbydesigns I've trained since 1966. Maybe there is still something for an old guy like you to learn. I have brought black belt karate opponents to their knees using these mudras. The martial arts are vast and deep; no one knows it all and there is always something more to learn. Read this thread from the beginning and learn something.
banjobilly 1 year ago 9
@robbydesigns You are kidding right? I trained Shotokan Karate Do before studying NinPo (real NinPo not fairy tales and hype) and know nobody can win a fight by making funny signals with their hands, maybe you boil frogs in pots and make your enemies disappear too?
robbydesigns 1 year ago
@robbydesigns You are assuming too much. Nobody said anything about winning a fight by making funny signals with their hands. These mudras are designed for locking and throwing the oppontent. Yes, they have health and spiritual purposes also. But they are primarily designed for chin-na and anti-chin-na applications. You seem quite proud of your knowledge. Perhaps with some humility, the deeper secrets will be revealed to you.

Thank you, banjobilly, for your insight and intelligent responses. My studies in Ninjutsu have revolved around three substances, body, mind, and spirit. It makes me wonder if he even has the faintest clue what the Kuji Kiri is about other than it looks cool, so let's do it!
reginaninja 1 year ago
@reginaninja :yeh choson seems like a bit of a douche.. theres one vid of him talking about squeezing your sphincter muscle,, but he keeps saying that old masters will be pissed at him for showing this,, whatever
noklarok 1 year ago
@noklarok The power of abdominal breathing has its root in the Hui Yin acupuncture point located between your anus and uro-genital area. Pull up on that point as you inhale. This will pull qi into tan tien, up the spine to Bai Hui point at top of the head. As you exhale, qi will flow down front of your body back to tan tien returning to your Hui Yin point. When you inhale, the anal sphincter will be pulled upward. So, Choson Ninja was giving you one of the greatest of martial arts secrets.
banjobilly 1 year ago 9
@noklarok Maybe if you knew anything about the Tao, you would understand what he was talking about. You could start by having an open mind, & getting yourself
a few Mantak Chia books too.
loveunderlaw 1 year ago
@reginaninja It is difficult to judge because a teacher always knows more than a student. Choson Ninja is an expert martial artist and a great teacher. Since the 9 Cutting Fingers has been secret for so many centuries, who can say what he taught earlier is different than what he teaches today? Perhaps now that the secret is out, he has decided to teach more of what he knows. We are all students no matter how long we study. No one knows it all; there is always more to learn.
banjobilly 1 year ago 6
@banjobilly Actually, I believe the only thing that Mr. Park knows on the topics of Kuji-Kiri & Kuji-in is what he has gleaned from books and videos. There is far more to both these topics than what even the video you posted goes into. Mr. Park's copy was only the mudras, which in unto themselves are only hand exercises, and have no discernible meaning. They are just pretzel fingers without the proper mantras and intent to go with them. These are things that should not be taught on line anyway!
reginaninja 1 year ago
@reginaninja You are reading too much into the mystical side of the mudras and not seeing the practical side. They, themselves, teach you what they contain IF YOU PRACTICE THEM. The proper mantra is given in the video. Proper intent can only come from he who practices them. When Buddha was enlightened, his first words were, "Oh, how wonderful. Everyone can achieve this state of mind." What is taught online is what needs to be taught. Are you saying books and videos cannot teach you anything?

anirudhkrishnamani 2 years ago
Hindu dance of the Aryan kshatrians has martial applications. If your school does not practice Hindu dance forms, then find another school.
banjobilly 2 years ago
it has nothing to do with dance forms its a martial art.

Apparently, you think I don't. So, why not explain what you are implying.
banjobilly 2 years ago
hmm... maybe we a have misunderstanding here.
probably what you call as dance forms are fighiting forms for me.
are you calling the steps(chudu/kata) we do as dance forms?
or the animal postures?
anirudhkrishnamani 2 years ago
At the lowest level, there are fighting forms in every martial art. The higher arts link a variety of forms together into longer sequences so that the qi (prana) animates the body thru the forms. This qi-body creates jing (kundalini power). In addition to the steps (kata) there is yet a higher level where dance (with music) links many kata together into a harmonious transcendence into the fire of Shiva.
banjobilly 2 years ago
hmm.. maybe i'll be learning in later stages..
so these dances are taught in later stage of kalari?

23mavcat 2 years ago
As long as you aren't causing yourself pain by doing them too forcefully, you can't do them wrong. Head pains are usually caused by concentrating on the hands and forgetting that they are connected to the wrists, forearms, shoulders, and neck. People often tense their neck muscles when putting strain into their hands, causing head aches. Too, the mudras can release old toxins trapped in the body from old illesses. This is known as a healing crises. Learn about natural diets and avoid junk food.
banjobilly 2 years ago
I did this a couple of times now every time i do this and after my hands feels warm? Is that normal to feel?
esko23q 2 years ago
That's a very good sign. It means that your blood circulation and qi flow are increasing. Now, without actually touching your body move your warm hands around on your arms and chest or head and anywhere on your body that seems in need of energy and see if your body can feel the heat given off by your hands. There should also be a feeling of a slight magnetic push along with the heat. If your body can sense this, then you really should start learning some qi gong to increase your skill-power.

Why does this vid have different positions than a lot of other kuji vids?
QuantumTengu 2 years ago
You question is kind of vague. What do you mean?
banjobilly 2 years ago
Are there variations? Some people use different positions than you but still refer to them as kuji kiri. Are all variations intended to achieve the same ends?
QuantumTengu 2 years ago
Of course there are variations! The Nine Mudras are the basic techniques, the gateways for a variety of variations. Just the first mudra, alone, has 28 variations, one for each finger joint. The numbers of variations increase as the mudras become more complex. So, the variations that you see in other schools doesn't mean that it does not occur in this school but merely that one school shows one and another school shows another. Practice the mudras to find the variations.

If you break your fingers, how can you blame the mudras?
banjobilly 2 years ago
i'll try my best to internalise these points... so can this kuji can have some nasty side effects that go beyond the physical? i have had some weird experiences regarding kundalini in the past from trying to learn too much too soon...

You already know the answer to your question ... trying to learn too much too soon. Be gentle with the mudras, stretch like a cat and be aware of the little things that you discover within your own Self. All side-effects are beneficial ones, as long as the corners of your lips turn upward with a Buddha smile. So, straighten your neck as you practice the mudras and breathe from your belly like a child.

do you by any chance know the relgion of the Ariyan worriors?
yashil17 2 years ago
The Bhagavad-Gita contains the teachings of the Aryans of India however the Aryans of Iran practiced Mithrianism while the Aryans of Europe were Druids. The name of the country of "Iran" means "Land of the Aryans".
banjobilly 2 years ago
ah i see, but do you know when the Bhagavad-Gita was created, i tried to find it on the internet, i just need to know if any Indian religions came before any Iranian ones, Zardoshti.
but the Ariyans of Iran practised Zardoshti or Zoroastrianism in English, Mithrainism came later.
yashil17 2 years ago
Keep Googling. You will find what you seek. It doesn't matter which came first since it is a Man's present condition that has always been what must come first. We all live in the present moment; the present moment is more important than what happened thousands of years ago. In the present moment Iran is controlled by Muslims who believe they have the right to kill anyone who is not a Muslim. Such a false religion creates War and a present Hell with promises of a future Paradise.
banjobilly 2 years ago
Sepaz gozaram(Thank you greatly, in original Iranian/Ariyan, with no arabic words)
and Sepaz to your great words,
it is true that the present is more important than the past, for the present controls the future and the past, as the said by Charles Lyell's memorable statement:
"The present is the key to the past"
but the past isn't just useless information we get, the past in fact does control the present and the future, both positivly and negativly,
continued...
yashil17 2 years ago
continuation:
but thanks to Zardosht, and Zardoshti which teaches us to think positivly, and to talk positively which would create a positive life, for all of logic is positive.
anyways, the past gives us confidence and positive energy (according to the way we use our logic towards it, negative or positive) so the reason i'm looking for which came first is to see which created the other, but i shall find it.
yes, islam is ruining Iran, but the brave, smart, young Iranian Ariyans resist

I have found MANY different versions of the nine cuts or the "Kuji-In" all claiming to be used by Ninjas. I hold a Nidan in Ninjutsu and have trained for over 8 Years in Ninjutsu and nearly 21 years in the arts all together.
The narration is very insightful however I utilize 9 different "cuts" then these that are displayed and have found them useful showing me that it is the belief which is held that creates the "effect" of the individual cuts.
These resemble Kuji-Kiri more so of India.

MrSargenti 2 years ago
Stringed instrument musicians find improved dexterity and a sense of satifying relaxation after practicing the nine mudras not just because they stretch the tiny secondary muscles and tendons and open the joints but because they open the acupuncture meridians that run through the hands and thus benefit the entire body as well. Be sure that you are aware of how your shoulders and neck relax as you practice them. As the shoulders drop, the neck straightens. Power comes from softness.

fine. i do one of the 9 cut fingers and then what i do?? and for how long?? r there more than 9??
bloodcorer 2 years ago
with the nine cutting fingers you can make 81 diffent combinations when i do them i hold them til they get sore not painful sore but bearable so then i know my muscles are stretching
shanecurley1988 2 years ago
Be gentle and don't hurt yourself. If you cause yourself pain, the muscles react by flinching and contracting so you work against what the mudras teach. The secret is gentle stretching.

till they get sore thats not very good just do them till you feel a stretch not a burn burning means your tearing it to much

What really amazes me is how they came up with this stuff THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO?! How did they know this stuff back then with NO technolgoy or NOTHING? Mystery.
VNPrince 2 years ago
It's no mystery if you realize that all technology is merely an extention of Man. A rock is a hard fist. A stick is a longer arm. A telescope is a stronger eye. An automobile is a faster foot. A computer is a faster brain. Etcetera. But no technology is greater than Man, himself. In fact, when Man depends upon tech and forgets Self, he becomes weaker. The Ancient Ones explored their Inner Self and found great things; Modern Man merely needs to do the same and put aside weakening technology.

I do believe people came up with these stuff exactly because they did not have any technology
if you don't believe me just google how many hours of tv does the average human watch

words, including those of guru billybob, aren't going to convey why or how consistent practice brings certain "benefits".

Thank you for this video.

wow. i never knew how weak my hands actually were. I had a strong grip but weak fingers
SimonLy90 3 years ago
The real strength of the hands is rooted in the forearms. Be sure to relax as you practice the mudras so that the stretchiness can be felt in your forearms, too. Don't neglect to relax your shoulders which allows your neck to straighten. This allows the sleepy Buddha inside of you to awaken and to look through your eyes at the mudras before you.

I started doing this exercies and now my right index finger is numb. What should I do? I'm starting to get desperate
