The MM bill has gone from good to fair at best! How the F .... am I suppose to afford the medical marijuana given that I'm disabled and my income comes to 12,000 per year for a family of four(me my wife and 2 sons)?!?! I could grow my marijuana for low cost but to HAVE to buy it? No way insurance will cover it!! I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
lol@ the wookie suit. Their bill sounds pretty restrictive. Here in minnesota we've been trying to pass a bill for awhile too, but damn governor keeps vetoing them. Each time a bill comes forth it is more and more restrictive.
I wonder, on this issue, would it best to just force a bill through and hope for future changes for less restriction or to wait for a better bill?
This is what you do, allow a few shops to open with licenses funded by shop owners. Why does the government have to get involved? Tax the plant and enjoy the revenue. :) Live free or die!
@freestatereport ROMNEY'S 2012 PLAN CUTS MEDICARE--Ron Paul’s plan cuts $1 trillion the first year & balances the budget in 3 years. The plan cuts spending by ending the costly foreign wars, and cuts foreign welfare, corporate welfare, and overgrown federal bureaucracy. These cuts are made so that those who are dependent on domestic spending programs such as Medicare aren’t endangered through a sudden change in benefits. Romney’s plan cuts Medicare, on which many elderly Americans rely.
should that detract from their cause? tens of millions of people in the US are 'potheads'.
i know it's semantics, but can we all please get used to calling it what it is? it's called cannabis. marijuana is a racially charged term used to vilify both the plant and the mexican peoples who brought it into the US.
intrepgun: Marijuana isn't a "racially charged" term, it's the common name by which the plant is known. It's not a term used to "vilify" anyone, the mexicans themselves call it like that. "Cannabis" is the genus; so basically your argument would be that we should stop calling roses like that and call them "rosa" instead since that's the correct scientific term.
I'm not implying being a "pothead" should detract anyone from being for or against medical marijuana, just that I find it funny.
charles whitebread has published the most well-researched and sourced articles on the subject of the plant and its prohibition in the US. cannabis is the proper name of the plant as a drug. it is also the genus name, yes. read up on it and you'll see that the name marijuana is indeed racially charged. it played into the racism towards mexicans that was pushed through propaganda at the time. it's a very interesting history.
Yeah your wrong, the plant was either called hemp or cannabis in America and most of the world before Anslinger started his scare campaign. He dug up a Mexican slang term and it has stuck to plant since. How else did a plant with origins in Asia get a Mexican name?
