Love how each of the blog video's have their own thematic. SO GLAD Peter did one on the logistics of this operation. I had tried to imagine the scale of it, but to see it on camera is just staggering. Talk about stressful! Air traffic controllers have a nicer job...

And yet every time the tension gets too high, I reckon each crew member reminds themselves that there are thousands who would gladly have a hand in such an incredibly unique and adventurous production. Thanks for the upload!

So if they take up like 2 football fields every time they shoot on location, and I'm guessing most of the locations are just nature spots or someone's property. Wouldn't they be ruining the terrain and green grass with all those cars and sets?

Every time they set up camp, they remove the grass and soil in rolls and carried away in trucks and kept alive. And once they finished with the camp they put the grass and soil back. They did that with LotR, and most likely the same with the Hobbit.
