  • Should have been Rose and Bernard damn it.

  • i thought jacob layed the mib and mother next to each other hundreds of years ago? there looks to be one corpse what kate and jack are looking at. and charlie looks to the right saying 'bloody hell are these the people here before us?' was the other body put over there or is this just a continuity error?

  • @chshaw87 the only explanation i can come up with is the mib can take on his own corporal body and in doing so moved it, much like the way we never find christian's body just the coffin. the mib has taken on his form but we don't know were the corporal body is.

he should have took on the form of 'mother' just to screw with jacob.

  • @chshaw87 There is a tiny continuity error. There are two bodies in 'House of the rising sun', they're just not right next to each other as they are seen in 'Across the sea'.

  • I love how LOST always found random reasons for people to take their clothes off.

  • WAHEY!!!!!! We got the answer to this one!!!!!! (I randomly high five people down the street!!!) It was a man (with no name) and... a woman (with no name)... who killed his mother and manage to raise, the one with no name, up by herself!... xD.

These unanswered mysteries are giving me mental breakdowns... Lol!

I still LOVE the show despite my sarcasm.

  • Why'd they edit Charlie out of this during "Across the Sea"? He had some terrific lines during this scene.

  • @AwesomeAuror no kidding I thought they would of been full of C's lol great lines gotta love season 1 it was really great.

  • @zach200cc Charlie's lines are always the best.

"Dear Diary, still on this bloody island. Today I swallowed a bug. Love, Claire."

"I came down in my invisible submarine. Don't you see it?"

"You guys have an inside joke. How absolutely wonderful for you both."

"But I did see a polar bear on roller skates with a mango."

"If you guys are finished verbally copulating, we should get a move on."

  • Yes but Jack says it takes 40-50 years for clothing to decay like that, he didn't say they had been dead that long, he just implied they could have been dead more than 50 years

  • so is it jack and kate

  • What we officially know is that due to uncertainty of the shows future back in S1 there was only a rough outline of the entire show made, sposedly there were always going to be 2 characters who represented white & black (probably originally jack & locke as seen in s1).

Anything brought up in S1 was done to keep viewers interested & then had to be worked into the overall story of LOST

  • And what a crap answer to that mystery...

  • I never doubted that the writers had the ending worked out from the very begining but I still think some episodes between series 2-5 they were writing them as they were going along. If it was just 3 series like originally planned, it would be the best tv series ever. By dragging it along there's too many questions now that they'll never be answered.

  • To every dumbass out there who claimed Rose and Bernard were Adam and Eve JUST BECAUSE "theres a black and a white stone and theyre white and black innit" congratulations on your fucking GENIUS logic and i'm so glad it all worked out for you in the end......NOT!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • good time when their biggest problems were find water amnd fight bees lol

  • "it takes 40-50 years for clothing to degrade like this" whats it going to look like after 1000 or whatever it was?

  • Its Jacobs mother and MiB.( for those of you who stopped watching)

  • So, basically, Darlton lied about having things planned out and they just made shit up regardless of what may have already been established. It's not at all nitpicky to wonder why Jack said there was 40-50 years of degradation on the clothing. Regardless of having a background in sewing or not, it's not difficult to notice something the difference between something that's aged for 50 years and something that's aged for almost 2000. Common sense.

  • jacob and mib are thousands of years old in case u didnt notice they were using sharpened sticks to kill boar

  • mib moved his body sometime before the losties came as he did not want to be layed next to his "mother" who lyed to him. MYSTERY SOLVED.

  • @agent1122 But then why were the skeletons together in "The Lighthouse"? Obviously the writers changed it earlier in this season because now they knew who the skeletons would turn out to be. They didn't know in the first season.

  • jack is a doctor, he should kno anythin about how long clothes last. if it was 40-50 years. my grandma wouldnt hav clothes anymore. haha jk. but yea..he was off by a couple hundred years

  • Yes, mystery solved.

  • who cares if jack said 40-50 years? they are on an island that time travels, ghosts talk to you, and there is a smoke monster. yet your worried about if their clothes should have decomposed in the correct amount of time?

  • who cares if jack says "40-50" years? they are on an island that can time travel, there is a smoke monster, and ghosts are running around. is it so hard to believe that on this island, clothes take longer to decompose?

  • 40 to 50 years... jack was WAY off

  • kate is so hot oh my god

  • too painful.....

  • So Jack says that they're only 40-50 years old, but Mother/MIB died ~2000 years ago. Giant plot hole or "magic?"

  • @nam4anad Jack said that it takes the CLOTHING 40-50 years to decay like that. I think he was just saying they had to have been there for at least that long.

  • @nam4anad More a matter of 'making shit up as going along'.

  • @Uxoriouswidow Well, in the original script there's a later scene where Jack says "Adam and Eve, whoever they were could've been here decades, maybe centuries.........

Also Why do people try and insult the creators saying they made it up as they go along, if you hate it so much, wouldn't the bigger insult be, "They had all that planned"

  • man in black and his mother.

  • shit jack was fuckin laying

  • wtf? when jacob put the bodies there, he put them together, not separate

  • @EdwardNygma1 according to lostpedia, the separation may have been due to numerous earthquakes on the island. But yeah it is a production error.

"When the skeletons were first discovered in "House of the Rising Sun" they were separated and not lying side-by-side, as we see Jacob placing the bodies in this episode. This, however, could be explained by the fact that numerous earthquakes have occurred on the Island since the time that they were laid to rest."

  • @classicrockboy93 how could an earthquake do that though?

  • @EdwardNygma1 first thing that came to my mind. oh well, can't be perfect :0

  • the man in black and his mom!

  • If those bones are over thousand years old why are they still there? it takes bones under 100 years to decompose

  • Did anyone notice that in "Across the Sea" that Jacob buries the bodies of his mother and MIB side by side, but in "House of the Rising Sun" (from Season 1) Jack finds the bodies lying away from each other, seperately? What if there's more to this than it seems? Plus LOST is full of detail, so what if this was done on purpose?

  • @aurio01 I was just thinking that same thing. Was that a detail that was overlooked? I doubt it...so I wonder what is the answer.

  • It's funny every episode raises new questions how the woman got there ? how she knew about the light ? What was she reading on drink she gave Jacob and what it did to him. It doesn't stop Im a big lost fan I feel the end is Gona be shit.

  • @muhummadahmad Keep the faith. I think it'll be an incredibly powerful finale.

  • How was it that people know it was m.I.b and his fake mama a month ago from the coments

  • i like how they redid the whole scene tonight with different lighting...

seriously though- Jack said they died 50 years ago...but the man in black and his mom died like thousands of years ago? so what the hell?

  • @Albyiscool Jack doesn't know how long they've been there. He is just a guy giving a guess. He only says at least 50 years based on the clothing...but is he an expert and has he studied the environment there? So, he's just wrong.

  • @jboldery

Yes but Jack despite being just a spinal surgeon shows great skill in all areas of human anatomy & is a typical ''doctor'' from tv who exceeds expectations in all fields of human science. Therefore we take his words with good accuracy, its a blatant mistake & one that the producers seemed to have left out on purpose maybe to not confuse viewers or cos they fucked up.

It doesn't take a genius to see the difference in 40 years & roughly 1500+ years

  • @tvrulesnation I'll give you that. But, just in an attempt to provide a logical explanation in the universe of Lost, one could say that due to the special properties of the island, the rate of decay could be decreased. Plus, that clothing did go into the Light..perhaps that changed how the material ages. I know, grasping at straws. haha

  • @jboldery

Its totally possible about the rate of decay but its still a pretty cheap explanation & reason so early to throw in that ''30-40 year old'' line (evidence for yer statement is the mass graves as far as i remember there are still bodies there after 30 years)

That will probs be the unofficial reason of jacks mis-estimation but realistically it just looks like bad script-writing & planning

  • @tvrulesnation I agree.

  • @Albyiscool I think he meant at least 50 years for all the flesh to decompose. Not necessarily exactly 50 years. I doubt they died thousands of years ago. The real mom probably got there during the Spanish exploration years which is only hundreds of years ago.

  • Its obviously jacobs brother and fake mother

  • @nickdgs75 Yes, it is so obvious after seeing the episode tonight. lol

  • Heyyy, They explained this on tonight's episodes. YAYYYY Adam and Eveee Lost version!

  • And thus, this video's views will explode within the next seven days!

  • Mystery solved.

  • I do not believe it, tryed to stay spoiler free ffs !!!!!!!!!!!! look at one comment below and now i know who they are, fuck.

  • @1:20 nice jack ass.

  • Is that Merry from Lord of the Rings?

  • It's what XxXLucozadeXLoverXxX said. They are MIB and his mother and Jacob put them in the cave. I'm glad beause I would be mad if they made them Rose and Bernard because Jack said it takes 40 or 50 years for clothes to decompose and they were only there for 33.

  • They're the Man in Black and his mother, I'm suprised some people already guessed it. Their bodies is were supposed to have been put there by Jacob, but no one knows how or when they died yet.

  • Its confirmed that its the smoke monster and his mother

  • i have a feeling that the skeletons are the man in black and his/jacobs mother...

  • @bassplayer1617 how do u know that them two share the same mother?that totally gave away ur not guessing but actually read the spoiler on the internet, its all over the net today, stop trying to be a smartass!

  • @dinnohim i don't u dumbass ive guessed all along that they were brothers. and i dont eve look at spoilers. stop being a douchebag

  • @bassplayer1617 well u guessed correctly =)

  • Adam and Eve are Jack and Kate. Already confirmed by Carlton Cuse and Lindelof.

  • @grattend310 no its definitely not jack and kate

  • Could Adam adn Eve be previous cantidates that didnt make it?Maybe one for MIB and one for Jacob?Or maybe they ARE MIB and J from the future or sth? They are holding the stones representing J and MIB.LOST has become pretty messed up you never know...

  • haha, you're right BDevilScholar, and as explained in some of Lost forums, Jin has yet to murder anyone, while Sun has (i forgot who, but she also tried to kill Ben) or maybe this may also be stereotypical seeing the stones can represent a good and evil, black and white = Yin and yang.

  • Its the Man in Black, and the woman he once Loved. Black and white stones wore found on the Body of the Skulleton wearing Black, MIB in the substitue, throughs a white stone into the ocen, weh sawyer asks what was that all about? he Replys " In Side Joke". The Bodys are that of The Man In Black and The Woman He Loved

  • Also,I guess I remembered wrong, but I always thought that adam and ave were wearing Dharma suits for some reason. I guess not since they didn't mention it in this scene, but I can't get it out of my mind that somone said in a much later episode something like, "Oh hey, these are the jumpsuits those dead people in the caves had on." Am I remembering things incorrectly?

  • I always thought it was Rose and Bernard, but a very good spoiler site I use (darkUFO) has a poll up from a reliable source and Rose and Bernard were just taken off the poll. I forgot about the stones so I guess I'm going to say it's MIB and his mother. I'll leave it at that so not to get too spoilery if youre not into that. If you are, go check out the poll on darkUFO. It sounds strange, but that's really the only combinantion that works.

  • @depeche609 It's pretty much limited down to Smokey and his mother, since the answer is supposed to be revealed in an episode only featuring Jacob, Smokey, their mother, and the fake mother.

From what I know, the fake mother is still alive, and so was Jacob, leading me to believe Adam is the past Man in Black and Eve is his mother.

  • I think its Sun and Jin coz right after locke says our very own adam and eve the next shot is of Sun and Jin plus i'm only going by memory but i think that is a episode with there flash back in it. At some point there must be another time shift pos the last episode they prob picked that spot as they knew they would be discovered by them selfs

  • But sun and jin never see the skeletons, they wouldnt know they were there,Im thinking its rose and bernard, they didnt seem to move forward after the nuke blew.

  • White stone, black stone....

    Jacob and smokey symbols

  • Am I the only one who can see this won't be Rose and Bernard? They have black and white stones, how stereotypical would it be to give these to a black woman and a white man, especially when in lost black and white connote evil and good. They will NOT be Rose and Bernard, plus, who the hell would lay them to rest there if 40-50 years doesn't fit the 70s and nobody knew of their whereabouts in that time. It's not those two at all I don't think.

  • yeah but jacks only guessing 40 to 50 years,could've been 30.

  • @BDevilScholar

It will be whoever has the stones in the end, Also there is a theory going around that it could be Claire and Jack. Like the MIB, Claire wants to get of the island to see her son Aaron. Jack, the candidate to replace Jacob wont let Claire of the island as she is evil like the MIB, So she will want to kill him to get off. Also there is simmilarities between Jaocb/MIB and Jack/Claire, they are both siblings, one good preventing the other (bad) from gettgin off the island.

  • The male skeleton could be The Man In Black and the female could have been his lover? Then once he had died, he became the black smoke some how. MiB has said he knows what it feels like to loose someone you love. Maybe she died and then he killed himself.

I dunno man, i'm just saying what comes to mind. :D

  • Thats a really good guess actually.

  • @Beatlicious91 damn close guess

  • @Beatlicious91 you were close :)

  • @Beatlicious91 wow you were half right, it was the man in black but the lady was his foster mother

  • @Beatlicious91 Haha, I had this idea, too! In a way, I prefer what they did with it.

  • @Beatlicious91 Holy hell, that's pretty close to what it was, NICE! :D

  • @GrinningTurtle42 Haha, thanks. Getting the blu ray box set for christmas so i'll be going through it all over again. Won't be as good not trying to guess what the hell's going on though!

  • The producers say that these skeletons prove that they had planned things early on and the skeletons are quite important to the show so i doubt it will be rose and bernard cus bernard didnt exist in season 1, theres not much evidence to make guesses but i very much doubt the skeletons were characters from seasons 2 and after. UNless they planned time travel early on or summit but who cares its the last season we'll find out soon and most likely b embarrased of our aweful predictions.

  • hey remember when locke threw away a white rock well my theory is

the white rock reprasents good and the black rock represents bad

locke threw the white rock away as an inside joke!

did he throw it away because jacob the, good guy died and now bad is now the leader of the island??

  • wow no one else had that idea

  • @spoty212 stating the obvious=.=

  • well in the episode lighthouse they revisit the caves hurley sees the skeletons and he makes a good theory

''what if we time traveled back to dionosaur time and then we died and we got buried here? what if these skeletons are us?''

    good theory by hurley!!

    maybe its true?

  • Im thinking it is one of these combos:

    Jack and Kate

    Sawyer and Juliet

    Daniel and Charolette

  • @browilliams I'm going with Rose and Bernard :)

  • Who is he? How'd he get here? Who? Where did they come from? Any idea how long they've been here?

All the questions Kate asked Jack regarding the skeletons. I know she was curious but holy shit...

  • If you´re watching season 6 this time, so you can watch promo for episode 6x05 and there is one shot of Adam and Eve and be careful now, Adam and Eve are separated in two caves in this scene in 6x05 but if you look at 10 seconds of this new promo, so you´ll see A/E together, not separated in two caves.

    So, it means:

    We´ll see them again. :)

What happened, that they are together in one cave right now in season 6?

  • continuity error. they dont even try with continuity anymore. its obvios ALT wasnt part of there master plan

  • its adam and eve, adn the episode tonight revealed"the inside Joke" with the white and black rocks.

  • lol the producers prob forgot this one and it will be unanswerd

  • nah they haven't forgot about it at all its something major, just like Jacob.

    1) can't be bernard & rose 40 years -2000= the 60s (not the 70s when they jumped back in time)

    2) WAY to obvious for LOST to just put them as bernard & rose, expect it to be somebody you don't expect at all.

    3) maybe it is somebody we haven't seen (character wise)

  • eat those words

  • Bernard and Rose... I believe they got stuck in the past, too, which would explain the sketons being there for years.

  • but what about the black and white pieces?

  • Anyone notice how the stones are in the forefront of the shot (in Jack's hand), and then Locke steps in behind them? Given the duality of John Locke that we now know, it's a pretty telling shot.

  • the best mystery on LOST. So subtle yet planned in the first season. Most fans who I talk to don't even remember this part. I hope for a great resolution in this final season.

  • it can't be jack kate rose or bernard

they all went back to the 70's while jack said that these bodies died 40-50 years ago which puts their death in the 50's or 60's

so it is impossible unless there is more time travel in the next season but i think they're done with that theme

  • @mEgaponies but they where jumping in time several times after they kept stucked on the 70s, they could die in between this jumps, like the girl who die as a result of this jumps

  • Bernard and Rose !

  • Could those marbles be backgammon peices? (locke plays backgammon).

  • defintley rose and bernard. in season 5 it showed them living near the caves in a paradise like setting, ya know

  • they were not together tho the bodys were seperate if it were them they would be side by side

  • its gotta be jack and kate

  • The smoke monster (jacobs nemesis) can take the form of other dead people on the island... I think Jacob can too

Ever wondered where the smoke got the form of "the man in black"?

My theory is that they are survivors a long time ago that died... The smoke monster later got the "man in black" form from "Adam" or "Eve" and Jacob got his form from them too.

  • its Locke and Jacob

  • One of them is female

  • rose and bernard

  • It can't be Jack & Kate. Due to the timeline continuity they will never be able to see their own corpses: at the time they supposedly died at the spring, Adam & Eve already had been found several years before.

I know it's difficult to understand how something in the future can happen before something in the past, but that's part of the Lost mystery :)

  • Have you guys heard the theory that Adam and Eve are actually Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan??

  • in a flashback with Desmond and Penny you can see a black stone and a white stone on a table.

  • could be jack and kate. Would be very ironic. Those are the two who found them. Imagine they would have found their own corpses.

  • wait a minute a BLACK stone rose and a WHITE stone bernardl. it makes sence now. there might have been another time flash and they left behind a very vauge clue.

  • Rose and Bernard

    Sun and Jin

this is my opinion, but I can be very wrong.

And what about Sawyer and Kate? I love them, but it would be good, you know, now, after Juliet´s death, some fans and me too, we are still their fans, but there´s enough fans of Sawyer and Juliet.

I´m not big fan of this theory, so it will be better, if it will be Rose and Bernard.

  • Juliet is dead? Are u sure?

  • @jasomcox

Ofcourse, that she can return in last season. I don´t know.

Sorry, if you didn´t watch season 5 yet :(

  • its NOT rose and bernard!!!! they found the black and white stones on them which obviously have great significance so why the hell would they have that????

  • Comment removed

  • It'd be kinda ironic if it was Jack and Kate, seeing as they found them, but their "relationship" seems to be over.. I also thought Bernard and Rose, but that's too obvious (?) - can't wait for season 6!!

  • @leatsoybeans

Not really obvious in season 1 considering you dont even see bernard.

    @VoldyRoss

    lmao

  • theyre not fat enough to be rose... =P

  • he said it would take about 40-50 years for the clothes to decay and they stayed in the 70s its not rose and bernad

  • "It was full of bees"

"I would have thought c's actually"

    LOL, love it

  • @MybasementReviews LOL! It took me a while before I understood that one

  • @Martyfire1 haha, yeah I caught it the second time I watched through season one =)

  • NOt sure yet but, the most obvious is Rose and bernard: they are the oldest and stood in the 70`s, the wanted to die together (the found them lying down like hugging), and.. rose is black and bernard white... but it´s just a thought...

  • Lol Rose and Bernard are the obvious ones but there are so many things pioting on thay it should not be them, dont tell me u think its smart to think they were Rose and Bernard, it would be too easy to be them.

  • I thought I remembered them lying together too but watch it again. They clearly are not.

  • Rose and Bernard.

they were older than the rest of the people and stayed back in the 70's. why not?

  • Jack. Kate.

  • I'm sure that these two skeletons are Ben&Annie !

  • Comment removed

  • its jack and kate. jack kept the black and white stones.

  • i think it might be rose and bernard..just a guess though...so many questions in this show still unanswered, i'm excited to see how it all wraps up!!
