I used Final Cut Pro. But please note, anyone can do the same thing even in Windows Movie Maker (albeit with much trouble). It doesn't really matter what software I used, all it matters is that things match and work well. If you watch most re-cut trailers on YT, you'll notice one theme in common: long unnecessary extended scenes which act nothing more than just fillers. I made this side-by-side to show how close I stayed with the original theme of the Inception trailer.
