  • Spice trade and forage to the east in search of spices started much much earlier that you think. Kerala in South India has been the largest spice market and hub for the rest of the civilized world right from the time of the ancient Assyrians (2500 BC) through the Greco Roman era, the medieval European age of discovery unto this day. Even as of now India is the largest global producer of spices with around 85% of annual global produce.

  • Check history before writing stuff and making false claims. First and foremost, Taj Mahal wasnt made by any Persian king. It was Shah-jahan the Mogul emperor of India, grandson of Akbar the great who built it. I do agree that the Persians have a great and grand old heritage, but dont forget that there's an older and richer civilization just towards your east. Grand cities and kingdoms and empires have been in existence in India since three thousand BC.Just educating the 'unassuming' Persian :-)

  • Margaret Shaida was my grandmother, and it makes me so happy to see that many people enjoy her book and the wonderful cuisine she wrote about. I will never forget how delicious the food she cooked for me was, and its rich history. I hope one day I will be able to do her proud and cook some of the dishes myself.

  • What's the song that starts at 4:30?

  • I have noticed how many Iranians are well built or fit, just like the Afghans.Must be their food, which doesnt bloat u like that fast food restaurant with a sign above its "ARCH' saying'Over 90 billion served'.

  • iraian food is the best ever in every way wish to live inran

  • damn, I miss all of those . Now I'm hungry again. ;)

    viva Persia

fuck persian speaking arab mullahs and dirty arab culture

    we will free Iran

  • i agree with this video, north indian / pakistani cuisine would be nothing with out persian cuisine, infact the whole culture of muslim north india and pakistan would be nothing, i am pakistani and i can say we owe a lot to our persian brothers. Urdu would be such an empty language without parsi

  • some of them can be found at ghazakade.google ghazakade

  • Hi every one. Can we use word Iranian instead of word Persian, Pars is a race, and not all Iranian are Persian, we have Lors, Kurds, Turkish, Balooch, Mazandarani, Gilaki, Turkmen and ... . They are all different and each has their own culture, language, food and...

So as a nation we are Iranian not Persian, our language is Farsi not Persian and our cuisine is Iranian cosine. Thank you all

    Let's educate ourselves

  • farsi is a wrong word for parsi because the arab don't have P so they changed it from parsi to farsi. we speak parsi and not farsi.

and also wine comes from persians

    viva Persia

  • is this the reason in india they still call it parsis?

  • BUT...that being said, this is a wonderful video, as is your other one. I wish you would stick to food and Iranian music as your subjects and not lower yourself with the other ones about penis size, etc. You are obviously very well educated, and those other ones make you look stupid in the eyes of other educated people. You say your videos are 'educational' so prove it with more like these. I have no interest in being 'educated' about your penis.

  • I adore Persian food, and use that cookbook too. It's just too bad that living in Iran, you can no longer enjoy the wine. I enjoyed some wonderful wines in Iran, before the 'revolution'. I adored everything about that country before the Muslims destroyed so much of what was beautiful and great. It is one of my greatest griefs in this lifetime, what has happened to the country and my friends who couldn't leave. It can now never be the same, no matter what happens in future. I am devastated.

  • Thanks for uploading this video, and many thanks to the author of this book, Margaret Shaida, for her profound work.
