  • swirl marks through out.

  • TEMPERATURE MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE FOR SMALL DISPLACEMENT HIGH OUTPUT ENGINES THAT RELY ON FORCED INDUCTION. THATS WHY THE 3.5 TO SEXTY

  • @tiagoko1 Yeah I agree with you on the tires. But it was my understanding that hotter temperatures ( say 85+ degrees) could lower the output of horsepower due to the gas evaporating before it has time to reach full combustion in turn reducing output. But at cooler temperatures (say around 65-75 degrees) the gas can reach full combustion giving you more HP output.

  • thats a drag strip... not a track.. Americans don't know about corners.

  • I guess the guys complaining about the 3.5 sec 0-60 time don't know how hot temperatures can effect the output of an engine.

  • @Clatik It doesn't effect engine output that much but effects but effects largely tyre grip and the grip of the road, and from 0 to 60 every bit counts!

  • @Clatik

    3.5 sec 0-60 ?

    .

    WTF ???

I blame the driver he was to faaaat

    .

not even the 530hp & the massive torque could cope with the additional driver weight

  • 0-60 in 3.5, something wrong or they never used launch control

  • My dad has a 2011 GT-R and my neighbor has a 2012 GT-R as well :) check them out on my channel!

  • this review was second rate.

  • The real numbers for this car are 0 to 60 in 2.89 and 1/4 mile in 11.1 if i drive this car i bet i can get a 10.9 and 2.8 flat considering i weight 120 pounds and i do consider myself as a very good driver

  • @yallo420 i bet you can't. Like the under comments you could possibly go for 2.8 if all the conditions are almost perfect. Besides the gtr in this video is just a bone stock. Even if you're as good as the stig, you still need to have the car tuned. I bet the the gtr here is not even flashed.

  • So were compairing GTR to Robin Hood. Wow thats random.

  • Comment removed

  • is it just me or is the guy narrating the most annoying motherfucker on the planet

  • motorweek need to do their research better!!!!! And give real advice, ive driven the new r35 and it doesnt "clunk" or feel "clunky" if you have it in the soft setting its quite nice and reasonable to drive daily. in r mode its a bit stiff but great feedback and feel. i really dont think these guys know much about the cars they test!!!! well at least the gtr anyway!!! gives other reputable journalists a bad name

  • @riorin8829 Last time you called us stupid Americans we burnt the smiles off your faces.JK.I do agree this is a terrible ET for a stock 2012 GTR.Hell.Even without launch they go 3.4-3.3. 95F car should still get to 60 quick though trap speed in the 1/4 would be down slightly with the higher DA.I've been considering a C6ZO6 for a long time but the 2012 GTR was a big leap forward & has me considering my first non American performance car. 2013,545hp will be a high 10sec car stock IMHO

  • How in the hell did Nissan get this 3900 lb TANK to handle so well.. I mean DAMN.. Thats almost two tons of fun!!!

  • WHY THE FUCK DOES THIS PIECE OF ENGINERING MASTERPIECE COST $168,000 in AUSTRALIA?

  • 11.9 1/4??? That's a time for a glass of water!

  • Love Motor Week.

  • What do you expect from a moron that rests on the mirror of the car........

  • one american says something awful then all of sudden all americans are labeled the same. come on we all know the GTR is great doesn't mean one bozo should represent a social group.

  • BADASS! simply awesome. like the tuning upgrades. watch this car get into the 10s in the future if nissan keeps upgrading. Great Job Nissan now get to work on the more affordable Z car.

  • Are you people retarded??? NOBODY can get 2.9 out of this car on a 95F/35C day. Try to understand things before you start bashing people. Once YOU own one, you can install some bigger intercoolers and see what YOU can manage.

  • The GTR is not a GTR until they put a proper 6 speed back into the car. It has the heart but not the soul. Reunite driver and vehicle NISSAN!

  • 2.9s.. 3.1s ... 3.5s.. who cares. I would still give my left nut for one

  • @5serieslover i would sell my both nuts for it ;)

  • @1980KNIGHTRIDER

    Y, u can get a 100k just for one.

  • i imagine launching the car feels like front row seat on Top Thrill Dragster. if it does, OH MAH GAH!

  • these guys are straight putting this GT-R down! I am not a Nissan fan but damn... this is a masterpiece!

  • an ugly automobile by a long shot.

    and the thing blends in.

    No Cache

  • please shut the fuck up cunt its not a skyline is it RB powered no does it come in gt4 gts gts-t no its a gtr not a skyline

  • this car has 2 turbos. when the temperature is hot, warm air moves into the engine which results in significant reduction in horsepower. turbocharged cars may lose up to 70 or 80 hp because of high humidity

  • MotorWeek ashamed on you missed the whole point of this car and Godzilla Nissan GTR the giant killer with one cylinder down it could beat your numbers...MotorWeek = Fail....Get healthy drivers also with track skills < 300lbs

  • he clearly said it was 95 deg. the track temp is probably over 105 deg, it's clear that it would play a role on the turbos and engine with that kind of heat. so for all you gtr stan-boys, not every test is going to be the same, not all track conditions are going to be the same. hell even the octane isn't the same throughout the country. so quit crying over a review of a car you will probable never ever drive.

  • Like they said, sounds like a vacuum cleaner, with a sock stuck in it

  • Motor week has always been bias in favor of domestic cars.

  • @backnu Is that why they raved over the Honda CRX?

  • @backnu

Yanks will always favour straight line speed over balance and handling. it's no suprise to us.

  • i heard the engine is handmade so i think thats another reason why it varies cuz ive seen 2.7. i hate how this guy sounds like hes tellin me bout somethin i won on wheel of fortune

  • Other reviews scored 11.1 in the quarter, some a 10.9.. must be the hot temp and or oxygen levels in some regions

  • I agree with them on the heavy feeling. I drove a stock 2009 MY GT-R and not only was the steering heavy with only moderate feedback but you really could feel the weight. It did stick and you could really whip it around, but I can only imagine if a person were used to something like a new 458 or Elise that the GTR would feel more like a low awd sport utility with sticky rubber than a back road dance partner.

  • 11,9 in the quarter, other tests have got 11.1 and 6 more mph. What is wrong with you motorweek?

  • So far best GTR car review !

  • A legendary car, love to replace my grocery-getter with this Godzilla if I only had the moola.

  • 2012 GTR 0-60 is 3.1.And the 1/4 in 11.1 but like they said it was over 100 degrees.Love the new GTR.

  • they love to hate this car, but everyone who owns them loves em

  • @tom11zz884 I don't think MW is lying, the temps for the day they tested the car was 95 degrees. If you have driven cars during the summer time and during the winter/fall you can feel the car making more power due to the cooler or colder weather. I recently saw a review of the porsche 911 gt2rs and the car was tested in cali while it was almost 100 degrees out the car ran like shit, but they later tested the car at night in the cooler weather and the car ran like the beast it is.

  • gorgeous in red!

  • 3.5 secs? Pfff.... BIGGEST LOAD CRAP I HAVE EVER HEARD!!! They should be called "motorWEAK"!! GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT... OR GET THE FUCK OUT!

  • LIESS, 3.5 is a lie

  • 3.5?!?! HOLY SHIT THATS HORRIBLE!!!! DUMBASS DRIVER!!!!

  • thats why most auto racing champions are short, lean & non americans

  • why youuuu whyyyyy

after all this time to made this icon you came and said " the engine sounds like Kitchen Appliances !!!! why you

  • track altitude, humidity, temperature all make a difference esp in boosted cars. All you folks here should know this. 2.9 0-60mph is possible yes but also is 3.5+ all depending on conditions.

  • it turned a one minute seventeen seconds on the top gear test track. beating a atom

  • 95 degree day guys !!!!!!!Turbo cars do nor like heat.this thing goes 11.1 to 11.2 at 123.5 all day long in normal weather.

  • hahaha sheet metal looking aggresive xD

The body is carbon fiber you dumbass XD

  • is this guy fucking retarded

  • 3.5 and 11.9 in th quarter mile? these guys need some new drivers!

  • This guy sounds like a fake commercial who has no idea what he's talking about

  • Fucking dumb american

  • These guys couldnt launch the BMW 1 series M either. I noticed they didnt mention that the Nissan is all wheel drive. Am I right? I agree with you guys about how annoying this guys voice is. His emphasis on words in the middle of his sentences drives me crazy. He didnt do this when he first started this show.

  • I might ask for 3 point racing seat-belts if I want this GT-R.

  • motor week is known for bias if you haven't noticed?

  • His voice is fucking annoying!

  • God I can't stand this guy's voice.

  • Wow, this is the first time I've heard Americans can't launch in a straight line. Exceptional!

  • These guys are such haters

  • wat a f***ing hater wth the sound this car makes is like no other nd plus this car is an amazing beauty i would marry this car if i could!!!

  • My GTR does 2.9 every single time I try, how did you get it to do 3.5s ? forgot to turn on the launch control properly?

  • that commentator suck!!!! thumbs up if i am right!!!!!

  • fuck u americans

  • It does 0-60MPH in 2.9 seconds, claimed and done by Nissan. Fucking American motor magazines want their cars to always be on top, haters gonna hate.

  • MotorWeek needs to be ashamed of themselves for flat out lying on the 0 to 60 time on this car like that....I can see going from 2.9 seconds to 3.1...but going all the way from 2.9 to 3.5 is flat out lying.

And the sad part is everybody knows that they are lying..lol

  • @tom11zz884 lol, They probably had the AC on. Think he said it was a 95 degree day.

  • @640101vh Not buying that one dude...lol

  • @640101vh That still is not supposed to drop the launch time that dramatically.

  • @tom11zz884 you guys, i think it is because they didnt use the launch control system the GTR have.

  • @tom11zz884 Youre an idiot. Did you hear a thing they said? They specifically state that their test is off the official numbers, and that it was 95 degrees. Stop being a little whiny fanboy and learn how cars actually work and perform in the real world before you start claiming that a reputable source is flat out lying to sabotage your dream car. They have better things to do, you cock.

  • @philritter21 thank you

  • @philritter21 Hey shit face....fuck off..lol

  • @tom11zz884 Are you deaf? The commentator clearly states why it's slower than Nissan's claim. 2.9 sec is under IDEAL conditions. You know what ideal means? /rant :D

  • @ZuuL1555 Hey shit face...fuck off...lol

  • @tom11zz884 Haha, just stating facts. All are screaming "Dumbass driver", "they're LYING", etc., when it's obvious why the car ran slower. All you have to do is listen. It's easy to understand. If you've ever been to a dragstrip, I'm sure everybody who's been crying MW is lying hasn't, you will see a lot of icepacks on intake manifolds, spraying NOS on the IC, methanol, etc. It's to cool the air intake temp. But hey, please continue to believe that an unbiased magazine like MotorWeek is lying.

  • @ZuuL1555 Obviously, you can't "listen" as well...so I will say it again.

    Hey shit face...fuck off..lol

  • @tom11zz884 You mean reading? And no I can't read, obviously lol!

  • @ZuuL1555 I can see i'm dealing with a moron here...lol

  • @tom11zz884 Hahaha love it, says the one who thinks that the GT-R runs a 2.9 under all conditions, no matter temperature, track prep, production model, driver, tires, etc., etc. Please don't reply if you have nothing objective and fact based to say to the initial argument. :D

  • @ZuuL1555 You are not the brightest kid on the block are you..lol

The point i've been making was that every other automobile reviewer got 2.9 seconds out of the car, and they were not talking about how it was a hot day, track prep, production model..etc.

Motorweek, which has a history of getting low test times on every car they test obviously are doing something wrong in the 0 to 60 tests compared to everyone else.

Is that so hard to understand moron?

  • @tom11zz884 HAHAHA! You're just being funny, right? "they were not talking about how it was a hot day" Again, are you deaf? The commentator clearly states why it's slower than Nissan's claim: IT WAS A 95F DEGREE DAY! Meaning track temp was 100F+. If you actually watched MotorWeek, you would know that they race at the 75/80 Dragway in MD - def not the best/fastest track in the US. How do I know? I've raced there myself. I'll disregard your name calling, it just proves my points. The end. I'm out.

  • @ZuuL1555 Who gives a rat's ass if you raced there or not fool, you probably drive like those non-driving fucks at Motorweek who can't even get 2.9 out of the GTR...lol

  • @tom11zz884 2.9 Seconds under absolutely perfect conditions. Track, temperature, driver and proper altitude/environment. Not everything is black and white dumbass. It was a 95F day outside heck you can see the haze plus who knows what the temp was with the humidity, another factor.

  • @ZuuL1555 And thats why more profound, unbiased sources like motortrend, road and track, edmund's insideline and individual owners get far better 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times than motorweek. Hmmm....

  • @tom11zz884 Its track/altitude/atm/ and other conditions you moron.

  • they should learn how to drive

  • 3.5!!!!

    who drove the GT-R ??

    FAT A S S American B I T C H

  • @hard2reality Even the 2009-2011 Nissan GT-R does 0-60 in 3.3-3.4s and there are numerous of auto reviews magazines that had the stock 2012 Nissan GT-R 0-60 in 2.9s.

  • @hard2reality you mad bro

  • @hard2reality 2.9 is normal he can't launch proper.

  • my wrx hates heat. it loves cold

  • how does the car run different tire sizes. and not break the awd systtem. diferent series tires?

  • track star.

  • @hard2reality or due to the fact that its hand built!

  • Motorweek sucks at reviews. and they cant drive for shit

  • Other reviewers have done 2.87 ~ 2.91. Wtf is 3.5?? Either they're straight up hater or just can't drive for shit. -__-a

  • I plan to purchase this car someday. Currently I'm using Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" DVD series to help me acheive my goals. "Live like no other" so that later you can "Live like no other", he says. If you share my passion but feel this is out of reach, please' come join me and lets "GTR" done ! Target date: 10-12 years...CASH !!

  • American haters...

  • American fuel i geuss

  • A super dream sports car. It's a poor man's Ferrari.

  • @76carmel its better than any ferrari put any ferrari modded or not against the alpha 12 GTR and it will lose

  • 3.5... I think not.

  • Americans suck at everything !!!

  • These motorweek ppl suck at driving all there tested cars end up slower than what everyone else manages to get.

  • i love every sound this car makes

  • I've passed this video for weeks, and Now i finally gave in. FUCKING NAPOLEON DYNAMITE CAN DRIVE THIS CAR FASTER THAN THIS TURD.

  • 1:34 what did they wash this car with a brillo pad???

  • Wow they hate rated the fuck out of this thing!

  • of course you're going to be slower off the line when you put lard on the tarmac... duhh

  • 1:33

    "..and a huuuge rear wing...."

You call that huge, come and check some ricers then you will understand what a huge spoiler is.

  • Thank you for the most detailed report on how this car sounds inside the car when driving and how it handles.... Other details about the standing still start lag.... Those details are so valuable. Since I have been a fan of V-8 530+ HP plus high torque... Such as with high output Ford Mustangs around the 2008-2009 year era... (Ford dealer did not allow test drives of the one I was looking at).. Still nice to know what is what with the six cylinder machines.... I know for sure I still like

  • Why all the complaining about the zero to 60 time. They tell you right in the video that it was 95 degrees the day of the test. That will slow down any car. This car is awesome.

  • why cant top gear have vids in this definition ???

  • What a fucking joke. Motortrend got continuous, 11.2 @ 122mph 1/4s and 2.9 0-60s all day. This is why your show doesn't get ratings similar to Motortrend.

  • this guy must be tested the GTR with corvette engine inside..!!!!

  • some cool down time is required, and junky nissan wants $90k for this turd that has what ? 10 to 20 missing coolers ? lololololol

engine itself sounds like kitchen appliance - hahahahahahaha this shit ain't worth more than $5k (pos tranny costs $20k LOL!)

poor datsun fanboys still think this junk is a supercar, some cool down time is required before you muffin cakes start coming at me exploding and overheating ROTFLMAO!!!!!

  • this dumbass cant drive

  • Seriously Motorweek the gtr does 0-60 2.9 seconds why lie and say it does 3.5 when its clearly the driver who cant even shift

  • So ok! its not the best looking car i myself love the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4,

but it's expensive v12 6,498 cc 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of around 345 km/h 214 mph CO2 emissions 398 g/km, well the rich can afford it beside the service cost. so The GTR is a great car for it's cost in all aspects.

  • @noelborg i agree, not only the money but you get in this car and you'll feel like in a actual car .. get into a lambo and you'll like you're in a spaceship (which is not bad, but just a lil too much for driving around the city).

  • 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged 24-valve V6 Horsepower – 530 horsepower @ 6,400 rpm Torque – 448 lb-ft of torque @ 5,200 rpm Cylinder bore x stroke – 95.5 x 88.4 mm Compression ratio – 9.0:1 Top speed – 196 mph Maximum engine speed – 7,000 rpm Emissions – 50 State LEV2/ULEV

For the price of this car Japs has all reason to be proud cause it makes few super cars with huge engines suffer, beside lower road tax insurance and co2 , and many can afford to buy.

  • Funny is!! i seen 100s of Nissan car testing from allover the world and this documentary is the only one that said the engine sounds like a kitchen appliance,

and lots of sound coming from the back. that really put me of to buy one, now i have to test this for my self other wise not buying.

  • very HARSH review

  • Why was he leaning on the side mirror?

  • i guess no one in America knows how to use lanch control....smdh

  • motor week stick to testing pontiac azteks ok... you're equipment and staff can't handle Japanese greatness.

  • .???????

  • They fuckin suck at 0-60 and 1/4 mile, there always at least a half a second off

  • OH I FORGOT I THINK MOTORWEEK SHOULD DO ONE ON CORVETTE ALSO BECAUSE GM ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO CHEAT JUST LIKE HOW BUSH BECOME PRESIDENT BY CHEATING

  • Nissan Claims it gets from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds guys lol but dont think your ALWAYS gonna go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds every single time, theres other factors involved. In this case it was heat. Relax, no ones trying to bash this car, i honestly dont think anyone can.

  • There numerous of the auto magazine that had the stock 2012 Nissan GT-R do 0-60 in 2.9s.

  • Doing a 0 to 60 and quarter mile with handbrake on...

  • This car is not only legendary and iconic, it's super in every way. 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, 530 horsepower, all at $90K AND still achieves a mpg rating of 16 city, 23 highway? No matter what the haters say, no other stock car on this planet can get anywhere close to all those numbers at once.

  • americans haters testing gtr 0-60, 1/4 3.5

Rest of the world testing gtr 0-60, 1/4 2.9...

    Very amusing

  • @Velasper they provide real world results.....not biased bullshit like the rest of the world

  • @Velasper the reason might be the launch control

  • @Velasper American, not a hater (although i hate GM loving rednecks), it's 3.5 sec....if you dont use the 'launch control.

  • @Velasper its called a 95 degree day its common sense not American hatred..............

  • @Velasper Track conditions vary? Motorweek doesn't give a shit how fast it is, nor are they haters.

  • @Velasper remember the gtr's in california has all kinds of emmission bullshit that rob hp away such as the egr system.

  • @Velasper 3.5 and 11.9 1/4. patheticlmfao

  • @Velasper, the presenter did say it was a 95F degree (35C), it is possible the temperature did affect the times.

  • @Velasper

most american reviewers say it goes 0 to 60 in 2.9, so i dont get why you even mentioned "americans haters" in your post. this just clearly shows you hate americans, so you're the hater. i have seen many gtrs on american soil already. we love this car

  • @Velasper It all depends on the driver... Underclass drivers would only get 3.5 out of it...

  • @coolblue1922 it has launch control all you do i engage it and press the gas... My wife could get better 0-60 times...

  • 95 degree weather kills every turbo car

  • @Velasper C/D is an American magazine and they had it at 2.9

  • @Velasper LOL well americans very profesional in drag race if track mayb....worst den old people driving??

  • @Velasper ur so right.

its the same when americans are testing their mustang/camaro/muscle-crap. they are always cheating with the 0-60 times of american made cars....

  • @Velasper agreed!

  • the back is kinda fugly, but i still really want one of these

  • come on motorweek, use the launch controll dont be pussys, you can easily hit 2.7-2.9 with r mode engaged

  • Not sure why 4 seat cars are compared to 2 seaters. Its all about 'practicality'. I live in Toronto. Rough winters. I like I can pick up 3 friends in my car and drive to the grocery store in a blizzard with 2 feet of snow and jam a pile of groceries in my trunk. Not many supercars can do that. Vette's a great car if its your 'second' car. Its not very practical if its your only vehicle.

    Make sense.

  • motorweek suck at driving---->let MOTORTREND DO THE WORK

  • Styling=joke, 0-60 impressive. Not a legend, never will be!

  • @meadowz06 how is the nissan gtr not legendary? this car is named godzilla for a reason

  • @meadowz06 Its already a legend idiot.

  • americans dont get what this car is about....who the fuck cares what the 1/4 mile time of the gtr is
