Odd David Clarkson goal

Watch 0:43 and/or 1:28. The net is already dislodged before the puck even hits the post. kind of stupid that the refs called it a goal. But it's Vesa Toskala do you expect him to save it anyway?

@raran44 the other team knocked the net off. nhl rules say that if the puck crosses the line after the defending team dislodges the net its a goal.

ya, i understand where you're getting at, but the puck hit the post, and the net was already knocked off, so technically, it didn't cross the goal line, until after the net already came off, because it hit the post first, in my opinion, they should've called it no goal, but maybe gave clarkson a penalty shot

i was at that game, and i was so ticked off when they called that a goal, so what if finger knocked it off, it was accidental, i dont agree with that at all

It doesn't matter if it was accidental, Clarkson shot the puck at the net and was checked by Finger. Because Finger knocked his teammate and himself into the net and the goal was going to cross the goal line anyway, it is a goal. If it was Clarkson who knocked the net off the ice, there would have been no goal. It's obvious.

If the commentators actually paid attention to games other than Toronto's, then they would have known this anyway....the Devils scored a goal similar to this against Columbus earlier in the season. I sounded like a pro when I gave the explanation on this one way before the ref said anything. Haha.

i was at this game, NO way was it a goal, first of all it hit the post AFTER the net came off, so 1) hit the post, 2) the net was obviously already off.
