Ron Paul might not be a born Texan like President Eisenhower. But he is more a Texan and less a Yankee and either of the Bushes. Congressman Paul gave our generation a chance to respond to this warning from our grandfather's time. Yet we've listened no better than the people did then.
In 2012 we should seal Eisenhower's solution of peace and freedom by electing the man that echos the old general even with so much time gone by.
if people don't make weapons they can't be fired. i.e. missles, warheads, bombs, etc. to stop a machine you need only deprive it of fuel. lost are the souls who contribute to the war machine specifically those who are employed at facilities involved with the manufacturing of weapons of war. get a conscience. our lives depend on it.
What a great President, and really they last real Republican...Too bad Nixon didn't learn more when he was his vice. Reagan bought into total Military Industrial Complex. And of course Bush we need not say anything...They lost the libertarian views sometime after Ike.
@dunn98632 I believe in the power of the militia over a standing military. I do think that a small standing military needs to be standing, especially in aspects such as aviation and naval power, but our defense dollars could go much further if we would allow the people to defend their country, as the founding fathers intended.
@Paganwarrior2000 in this day and age no militia stands a chance against a modern military. take libya for example. the rebels fighting there would have lost along time ago if it wasnt for NATO. now take a look at the syrian problem. no help from any modern military and they are getting massacred.
@oakcliff621 Take Ireland, they won their independence from a modern military. The British military is a well equipped and trained fighting force, one I'd say surpasses that of Libya's. Tactics also play a huge role, perhaps the Syrian's tactics could use some improvement. The Libyans use drones and also use video games for training, much like western military's do. Afghans beat out the Russians in the 80's and started the fight with Flintlocks and bolt actions. I'd say it's about the fighters.
we failed to listen and now endless wars are the result..and when our enemy went away (USSR) they gave us a new one (terrorism) that will never go away....countless lives lost all to feed the war industry money for weapons we never needed......the corporations have taken over they set the agenda they make they policies they write the laws....and the people suffer
one of my favourites for sure! and the jfk speech! great upload! we need honest men like this in power not the circus we are cursed with! our government in australia is soooooo imcompetent we had a prime minister thrown out then the new replacement has backflipped n all her promises!recent tax increases are at a all time high and more are being planned now including sin tax and all this kind of stuff funds our war effort in the middle east ect! its pathetic i mean sin tax?? really?? what next?

@linkin622 Reminds me a lot of George Orwell's "1984".

Just as worse as this is the CIA controlled media!
"The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media."
--William Colby, former CIA Director
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false."
-- William Casey, CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)
