heres a little minecraft trivia for all of u what is eaisier geting cobble from a generator or mining it naturaly. give up? it is eisier to get cobble naturally cus for a generator u need at least 3 peices of iron for a buckit and a lava source as where to get it naturaly u just need a tree tree=workbench,sticks and wooden planks planks+sticks+pickaxe pickaxe=cobble and this comment is longer than it needs to be

i know you prob over with this but, if you made the landing spot of your mob trap 1 block lower i think they would all die and if you made your roof at 3 blocks tall endermen wouldnt spawn

I'm quite sure he knows that yet, but for newbies that are watching and didnt understood what TheflyingBlueM write, its something like that:

Beds are what we call multi-spawn points (spawn the player AND mobs)

Mobs can spawn if you are one block away from anywhere that is with light level of 7 (night time or unexplored caves)

Place a torch at the darkness and you'll get ride of mobs :D.

Either just put your bed two blocks far form darkness.

Or play on peaceful when you'll sleep!

To answer why you got the zombie is because when you made the cobblestone arch to help your OCD you left a space 2 blocks tall so a zombie must have spawned there whilst you were gone.

Mobs CANNOT spawn within a 24-block spherical radius from each player. So it means you can build without worries... Unless the spawner is very big.
