Of all the Soviet takes on the Snow Queen story, this one is by far the most Communist, it's like Sergei Eisenstein made it.

A rich jerk who looks like the guy on the Monopoly box is inserted into the story to boss the kids' poor granny, throw his weight around, and look down on the impoverished but virtuous Hans Christian Andersen.

The Snow Queen's temptation of Kay is materialistic in nature, and being the hero, he rejects her because money and things can't replace love and family.

I remember watching this from my childhood. Fantastic telling of a beautiful story. This lady was the Greatest Snow Queen ever. --------<---@ I loved her.

Cable or Sky should dedicate a channel to re show these fabulous series. I not only mean this one and the lovers of them - they certainly don`t need me to tell them which they are.

I can't believe they dubbed the Russian Snow Queen into English. The Russian voices are soooo much better.

This is amazing. The voice acting on Kay's part is good but at some points it becomes painfully obvious that he is being acted by a woman. Really love this even thought it is slightly tweaked in plot as opposed to the fairy tale.

I think in the original tale, a devilish mirror broke into pieces, and one of the pieces went into Kay's heart, so he began to hate everybody.But when he met the Snow Queen on her sledge, he was attracted by her.

But it doesn't, this film is nice to watch... Thanks!

It's Hans Christian Andersen's tale, "The Snow Queen", just like in this film.

I'm sorry I forgot a word in my firt comment: "But it doesn't MATTER,this film..."
