This song playing allows a man to do greatthings... get rank1 in wow get a moab in mw3 top the leaderboard for arcade games... the list goes on and on and onon... etc :)
Come on! Let's all get on a outer spaceship adventure in another universe killing every type of alien with your buddies through mystical portals and strange planets! Let's go Gradius! Let's go to Victory!
That might be it...it's that old man's retirement party and Burns doesn't really care and his party turns into a Burns show quickly. And Smithers sings a song for Burns. Ring any bells??
Music like this is extremely rare in games today. The only game that I can think of right now is the upcoming Contra Wiiware game. I wish the 16 bit era (along with 2d) lasted longer. It's time ended too soon. We coulda had games that looked like Wario Land Shake it and Odinsphere earlier....
True dat. The SNES was the epitome of 2D games. Moving to 3D with the six four changed everything, and killed alot too.
Anyway, yeah, this music combined with the powerups and the level at which you could own enemies playing this game made for some uplifting times.
This was what we had before FPS games, and it will never be seen again. I;ve got it loaded on my Wii though and a week never goes by without me and my kids playing it!
All the musics of Gradius III are awesome! I'll miss SNES..but I heard you can download this and other games to Nintendo Wii. I'll get it whenever I have a chance.

The smart-ass instruction booklet some Konami goofball wrote for this game was pretty hilarious.
And yeah that is some sonorous slap bass, but the king of all SNES bass tracks is the Onett music from EarthBound.

I appreciate a good slap bass.

Gradius 3 and another game titled Ninja Warriors (or Ninja warriors again) have some of the best music on the SNES.

Everytime I hear this while I play, it's almost like the game is saying:
"Ok, no more fucking around, time to get serious :D"
and you'd be like:
"OH NOES!!!" (when you start going underground)

Reminds me and my friend of a theme you might hear on an old Sonic the Hedgehog game. :]
